Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 861: Chapter 861:- Visitors From Main Continent [III]; No

Aditya already knew about this competition. But he was more interested in another competition. It was the biggest competition of all.

”I am more curious about the Prodigy Ascension Tournament.” Hearing this, James and Annaʼs expression stiffened.

They thought Aditya did not know about this tournament.

”Or, can you tell me about the Celestial Domain Battlefield?” These two were the most important and most viewed and most grand competitions in the whole world. These two competitions are the most prestigious of all.

James and Anna looked at each other. Neither of them expected Aditya to know about these competitions. They thought he did not know the main Continent. They were sent here with this assumption.

Since Aditya was ignorant about the Main Continent, it would have been far easier to convince him to join their Sect, but now it seems like it wonʼt be as easy as the higher-ups of the Sect had imagined.

”I....I certainly did not expect His Majesty to know about these tournaments.” James asked with a nervous smile.

James was hoping to know from where Aditya had learned all of these things. Maybe knowing the answer would give them a clue as to how much he knew.

”Well, I am not totally ignorant about the Main Continent.”

”I wouldnʼt be the Emperor of this Empire if I was ignorant about my surroundings.” Aditya didnʼt give them the answer they were hoping to hear.

”Prodigy Ascension Tournament is just like the Regional Youth Championship. However, the difference is that the winners and the runner-ups of the Regional Youth Championship from different regions come to fight in one stage to determine the youngest genius in the whole Main Continent.”

”And the Celestial Domain Battlefield also follows the same format,” Aditya said in their place.

”The Winner and the Runner-up from each region earn their spot to fight in the Celestial Domain Battlefield, And the winner is the strongest cultivator in the Six Continent.”

James and Anna nodded their heads.

”But not 7th-order cultivators are allowed to join. This competitions are only limited to Peak 6th-order.”

”Also, these tournaments also serve another purpose.”

”Instead of going to war with each other, two factions send their best cultivators to fight in this stage. Whoever has the most wins or the most points wins everything while the loser loses everything.”

”Basically, this is a way of settling disputes without too much bloodshed.” However, Aditya knew that factions in the Main Continent very rarely use this method. Most prefer to rely on old-fashioned, full-blown wars.

”Yes....!!!” Anna felt an invisible pressure. They felt nervous just sitting and talking in front of the Emperor.

”So, tell me about the performance of the Chimera Shadow Sect in these two major tournaments.” As soon as they heard this question, both of their expressions stiffened immediately.

Drops of sweat began rolling down Annaʼs forehead.

Aditya could hear how fast her heart was pounding. She was super nervous.

James wasnʼt doing much better. He felt nervous as well.

In the Main Continent, the success of all Sects is determined by how successful the Sect was in these two competitions.

The Prodigy Ascension Tournament and the Celestial Domain Battlefield arenʼt held annually like the regional tournaments.

Both tournaments are held together after every 5 years. This means the winners and Runner- ups of the last five years have entered this tournament. This itself makes Prodigy Ascension Tournament and Celestial Domain Battlefield 10 times, if not 100 times, tougher compared to Regional championships.

Many Sects that are dominating in the Regional Championships might not even reach the top 5 in these two big tournaments. Even cultivators from the most powerful Empires struggled to get into the top 3 of these tournaments. This is why Aditya asked them about their Sectʼs performance in these tournaments.

ʼDammit! This bastard asked the questions that we were hoping to ignore.ʼ James gritted his teeth, frustrated about the whole situation.

From the beginning, he had never wanted to come to this barren wasteland, but he did. Miraculously, this barren wasteland produced a once-in-a-million-year cultivation talent. The higher-ups of the Sect had their eyes set on Aditya since the Dragon Grass incident.

They watched his fight with the 9-headed Hydra.

And after watching the fight against the guy named Robert, they were completely convinced.

At the same time, a deep sense of urgency filled them.

Because they werenʼt the only ones on the Main Continent who had set their eyes on him.

Whichever Sect managed to recruit this monster first will become the next big thing on the Main Continent.

So the Sect higher-ups sent him.

The plan was to recruit Aditya to their Sect before he learned too much about the Main Continent. Once he was with them, they were sure that he wonʼt leave them. Or rather, the higher-ups were going to make sure that he could not leave them.

ʼWe underestimated him.ʼ

ʼWe underestimated his influence.ʼ

At this point, James knew that their plan had basically failed.

Sigh...!!!

ʼI hope I donʼt get blamed for this when I return to the Sect.ʼ

James was frustrated. If he had managed to recruit Aditya, then this would have given him enough credit to secure an Elder position in the future.

”In the last five Prodigy Ascension Tournaments, our sectʼs best ranking was 6th place. We came in 9th twice in a row, and the other two times, we didnʼt even make it into the top 10.” James couldnʼt bring himself to tell Aditya that the two times they missed the top 10, their ranks were 16th and 17th.

Every member of the Sect felt deeply embarrassed to even speak about these two

performances.

The year that their Sect finished 17th, every Sect and Faction in their region mocked them for such a horrendous performance. After all, their Sect had won all five Regional Youth Championships before this tournament. So everyone was expecting the Sect to at least get into the top 10 rank.

”What about the Celestial Domain Battlefield?” Aditya asked with a small smile.

Judging from Jamesʼs look, he could already guess that the Chimera Shadow Sectʼs performance in the Celestial Domain Battlefield was even worse.

James felt too ashamed to reply. So he looked at Anna and signaled her to speak.

Anna felt embarrassed, but she couldnʼt reject her seniorsʼ words.

”Over the last five tournaments, the best rank our Chimera Shadow Sect achieved was 11th. In the other four tournaments, we ranked 15th, 17th, 19th, and 23rd respectively.”

”Wow!!! Thatʼs some disappointing performance.” Aditya did not even bother to hide his

disappointment.

”What about the Celestial Dragon Empireʼs performance in these two tournaments?”

”It was way better than ours.”

ʼSo they failed to win anything.ʼ

But he did not continue with this subject.

”Alright! Why are the two disciplines of the Chimera Shadow Sect here today?” Aditya wanted

to end this conversation. He had learned enough for now.

”We are hoping that His Majesty would join our Chimera Shadow Sect,” Anna said in a sincere

tone.

”With you, Our Sect will have a better performance at the Prodigy Ascension Tournament. And in the future, we are certain that you will perform really well at the Celestial Domain

Battlefield.”

”If you join our Sect, then you will immediately become one of the candidates to become the Future Leader of the Our Sect.”

”In fact, you will become the Sectʼs personal student.” James made this up. He was certain that he would be able to convince their Sect leader to take Aditya as his personal student. Right now, it was important to make sure that Aditya felt tempted and joined their Sect.

Aditya slowly stood up as if he had heard enough.

”Thank you for the kind invitations.”

”But my answer is no.” He said with a simple smile.

He had no interest in fighting for a Sect. The Main Continent isnʼt his ambition. If needed, one

day, he would rather expand his Faction in the Main Continent than join anyone elseʼs

Faction.

Hello Everyone! I know it has been a while! It has been more than 7 days since I last updated.

This is the first time in a while that I have taken such a long break from this novel.

Please rest assured - I am not dropping this novel. I love this novel and its characters.

The reason why I took such a long break?

There are a few reasons for this.

1. After finishing the Rin Rescue Arc, which tied directly into the Dune Sovereignty Empire Arc,

I felt stuck. This is what people or other Authors call the Author Block or Writerʼs Block. Itʼs not like I completely did not know what I wanted to do with this novel, but I just felt that the next big volume, which will officially push this novel towards its end Volumes, has to be as good as this volume, if not better. I did not want to give you all a cheap volume to reach the

end.

(Quick Note - Despite the slow updates over the past two months, I am really satisfied with this volume. I feel that this might be one of the best arcs I have written as an author compared to other arcs in this novel.)

So, I could not find any inspiration. And given how busy I have become with my life as of late,

I couldnʼt sit down to watch any anime or movies to get inspired.

2. The Second of December is the UAE national holiday. Well, my friends dragged me to watch fireworks with them.

3. I was also mentally exhausted and needed a much-needed break.

I am not the type who likes to yap about my personal life. If you have read this novel so far,

then you would know this. But this time, I felt my readers deserved an explanation.

I am really grateful to all the readers for continuing to support this novel with power stones, comments, gifts, and golden tickets, even in this period of absence.
