Medical and Martial God

Teacher?

Bruce and the others watched as an old man from the medical team came running toward them, absolutely jubilant. Despite his age, he was smiling so widely his face resembled a blooming chrysanthemum, and he ran with a flamboyant gait.

”Who is he calling ’Teacher’?” Bruce asked.

The leaders of the official Martial Artist organizations from around the world looked at each other in confusion. None of them had any disciples in the medical field.

”Teacher, what are you doing here?”

The old man ran right up to Ye Xiu. His face was flushed and he was panting from the sprint and his excitement, and his eyes shone with a feverish light.

”This...”

Bruce and the others all turned to look at Ye Xiu.

Good heavens! Ye Xiu is the Xuanse Medicine King... how does he have a foreign disciple?

It wasn’t just them; the more than one thousand members of the medical team were also shocked.

Bruce and his cohort didn’t recognize the old man.

But every single one of the doctors did. They knew him as Professor Joseph, the leading authority and number one figure in the global field of Anatomy and Regenerative Sciences.

A titan of his stature is actually calling a young man ’Teacher’?

Seeing that the entire medical team had gathered, Bruce pointed at Ye Xiu and announced loudly, ”Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you. This is the head of the global medical teams and your immediate superior, Xuanse Medicine King Ye Xiu!”

He’s clearly trying to stir up resentment against Ye Xiu! In his view, experts are all arrogant. Rivalries are common in any given field, and no one willingly submits to another. Even though Ye Xiu is the Xuanse Medicine King, he’s far too young. To think a kid like that will lead more than a thousand medical elites from around the world... These elites will definitely never accept him. I’ll just sit back and watch the drama unfold!

The heads of the world’s official Martial Artist organizations also watched Ye Xiu with mischievous expressions, quietly waiting to see him get ganged up on by the crowd.

”Ye Xiu?”

Professor Joseph was stunned for a moment before looking at Ye Xiu.

”Teacher Charles, so you are the Xuanse Medicine King, Ye Xiu?”

”Yes,” Ye Xiu nodded.

The moment the word left his lips, the thousand-plus members of the medical team swarmed forward, surrounding Ye Xiu with looks of exhilaration and excitement.

”Ye Xiu? Are you the legendary Xuanse Medicine King Ye Xiu?”

”Oh my God, I’ve actually met the Xuanse Medicine King, Ye Xiu!”

”So the Xuanse Medicine King is this young and handsome! Hello, Divine Doctor Ye, my name is John.”

”Divine Doctor Ye, could you give me an autograph? My granddaughter is your fan, and so am I...”

Bruce and the other leaders of the global Martial Artist organizations watched, dumbfounded, as the scene unfolded, their minds buzzing.

How could this be? We came to the port to see Ye Xiu make a fool of himself, to see him get mobbed by the medical team. But the plot didn’t follow our script at all!

”Is Ye Xiu really that famous?” Bruce asked Yan Long.

Heh, as if I would know... Yan Long thought to himself, but he said aloud, ”Absolutely. Divine Doctor Ye’s medical skills are unparalleled, making him the number one medical expert in the world. He is the teacher of all doctors in the global medical community.”

As he spoke, he puffed out his chest and stood tall with pride, though inwardly he was a nervous wreck. I didn’t exaggerate too much, did I?

Bruce and the others were astounded.

Ye Xiu is only twenty-six years old, and he’s already the world’s foremost medical authority! The most infuriating part is that he’s also a Seventh Realm War God! Did this guy grow up eating fertilizer? He’s just monstrous!

”Quiet down!” Ye Xiu called out.

The noisy chatter stopped instantly.

Everyone’s eyes were fixed fervently on Ye Xiu, waiting for him to deliver what they imagined would be a world-renowned medical speech.

”Ladies and gentlemen, please follow me to the Abandoned City for now,” Ye Xiu announced. ”After the power on Biluo Island is restored, I’ll arrange for you all to be assigned to the various hospitals.

”Until then, I will be conducting a training session for everyone. I hope for your full cooperation.”

Actually, I know perfectly well why these medical tycoons are so enthusiastic. It’s not because I’m the Xuanse Medicine King. In fact, out of all these doctors, I only recognize Professor Joseph. The real reason they’re so eager is because I launched the ’Advance into the Global Medical Market’ initiative. To put it bluntly, they all want a piece of the pie... or just want to avoid being crushed by me.

”We’ll follow the teacher’s arrangements!” Professor Joseph declared.

”We’ll follow Teacher Ye’s arrangements!” all members of the medical team said in unison.

They had changed their form of address intentionally, purely to cling to Ye Xiu’s coattails and forge a bond with him. It didn’t matter whether Ye Xiu acknowledged them or not. As long as they called him Teacher Ye now, they could boast everywhere in the future that they were his students.

Bruce watched Ye Xiu lead the entire medical team away, a constipated look on his face. ”We came here to watch the drama,” he muttered. ”How did it turn out like this?”

”Sigh, we came to laugh at Ye Xiu, and we ended up being the joke.”

”Those doctors didn’t even spare us, the heads of the world’s Martial Artist organizations, a single glance.”

”Ye Xiu stole all the limelight.”

”We shouldn’t have asked Ye Xiu to greet them.”

Bruce and the others were filled with regret. They should have taken the doctors from their own countries back to their respective headquarters first, fostered relationships, and then handed them over to Ye Xiu. That way, they would have maintained some influence over their own nation’s doctors. But now? They were all being led to the Abandoned City by Ye Xiu. The doctors didn’t even know who they were, so what influence could they possibly have? Influence, my ass!

”I have to think of a good way to teach that arrogant brat Ye Xiu a lesson,” Bruce said angrily.

It feels like I’ve never won a single confrontation with him. He completely derailed the leadership summit. I encouraged the Xuan Ming Sect to get revenge, but not only did he neutralize the threat with ease, he even managed to poach a bunch of their people. And this time, we wanted to see him become a joke, but we ended up as the laughingstocks ourselves.

”A large group of beautiful young women has arrived on Biluo Island recently,” Sect Hierarch Galava of the Xuan Ming Sect proposed a sinister plan. ”Why don’t we invite Ye Xiu to dinner tonight, get him drunk, and set him up with one of them? While he’s... busy... with her, we can take pictures.”

Bruce’s eyes lit up. ”Great idea! Ye Xiu is world-famous, isn’t he? We’ll take a video, post it online, and ruin his reputation.”

”That’s exactly my plan,” Galava said.

Yan Long chimed in to spoil their fun. ”And what makes you think I won’t tell Ye Xiu about your little plot?”

Seeing Bruce and Galava glare at him with murderous intent, Yan Long took off running.

As he ran, he shouted, ”Don’t chase me! Don’t forget I have powerful people backing me up...”

Before he could finish, Bruce caught up to him, pinned him to the ground, and gave him a merciless beating.
