Medical and Martial God

”Everyone, stand up. Let me introduce a godfather figure in the medical field,” Professor Joseph announced loudly. ”This is Mr. Charles, teacher to me and to all the medical professors at Tamwood City University. His research spans all fields of medicine and has achieved unprecedented, epoch-making results. His medical skills are so advanced, I fear even the legendary Medicine King Ye Xiu from Xuanse would feel inferior.”

As he said this, his tone was filled with the utmost devotion and pride. Charles, however, was just an alias Ye Xiu used back when he was passing through Tamwood City.

”What?”

A huge uproar erupted in the large lecture hall!

Qiuchanyi and all the students looked at Ye Xiu in shock.

This ridiculously young man, who’s only a few years older than us, is actually the teacher of all medical professors at Tamwood City University? An expert in every field? His medical skills are even superior to those of Ye Xiu, the Medicine King of Xuanse?

Qiuchanyi suddenly felt as if she had been slapped in the face. She abruptly recalled that from yesterday afternoon until now, Ye Xiu had followed her to every single one of her classes, all of which were related to medicine.

It turns out he wasn’t pursuing me at all; he was clearly here as a medical authority, observing his own student’s lecture.

”Joseph, the content of your lecture is fine, and you’ve made great progress. Go on back and continue. I’m just observing, so don’t mind me,” Ye Xiu said with a smile.

Hearing Ye Xiu praise his progress, the seventy-something-year-old Professor Joseph was instantly as happy as a child, and he cheerfully returned to the podium to continue his lecture. However, the students could no longer quiet their minds enough to listen. It was all just too shocking.

”You... you really are the teacher of all the medical professors at Tamwood City University?” Qiuchanyi asked in an uneasy, lowered voice, worried she might be too loud and disturb others.

”They insist on calling me that. There’s nothing I can do,” Ye Xiu shrugged. Back when he first came to Tamwood City, he had nothing better to do and decided to crash a few classes at the university. As a result, every teacher and professor in the medical department became deeply awed by his medical skills. They went from initial disdain to eventually crying and begging to call him their teacher.

How annoying.

”You certainly aren’t modest,” Qiuchanyi pursed her lips, deciding not to engage with him further and refocusing on the lecture.

Ye Xiu didn’t try to start another conversation either. Instead, he found himself considering whether Qiuchanyi was suitable to take over Gong Jin’s duties. He had always known that Gong Jin wanted to follow him on his campaigns to conquer the world, not sit in the background silently gathering and organizing intelligence.

「The morning classes ended.」

Qiuchanyi had no classes in the afternoon and was planning to head straight home. After leaving the classroom, she saw Ye Xiu following behind her, frowned, and said, ”With your medical skills, there’s no need for you to attend these classes. You also don’t seem to be here to catch up with your students. So, your target is still me, right?”

”You’re overthinking it,” Ye Xiu replied.

”I’d better be,” Qiuchanyi said emotionlessly. ”But I still have to remind you, I like powerful men, not academic elites.”

With that, she turned and walked away.

Ye Xiu sighed. Qiuchanyi is indeed good material for intelligence work, but her self-righteous personality makes her unsuitable to lead Ming Feng Tower.

The two of them walked out of the academic building one after the other.

At the entrance of the building stood a Ferrari. On the ground before it, countless red roses were arranged in the shape of a heart. A handsome man knelt on one knee, holding a bouquet. ”Qiuchanyi, I love you. Be my girlfriend.”

The onlooking students, captivated by the drama, began to chant, ”Say yes!” ”Say yes!” ”Say yes!”

Qiuchanyi furrowed her brows. ”Xie Wenfeng, I’ve told you many times, you’re not my type. Stop bothering me.”

The handsome man named Xie Wenfeng stood up and said stubbornly, ”I won’t give up. I’ll come here and confess every day until you accept me.”

”You...” Qiuchanyi began, annoyed.

Just then, a cold shout came from behind her. ”Scram. If you bother Qiuchanyi again, I’ll crush you!”

Qiuchanyi spun around. The surrounding crowd of onlookers also turned toward the speaker. When they saw the one who had spoken was Professor Joseph’s teacher, they were all dumbfounded.

How could this titan of the medical world completely lack the dignity his position demanded? He was cursing in public! And he dared to tell Xie Wenfeng to scram and even threatened him—wasn’t he afraid of getting beaten up?

”Charles, don’t get involved in this. Xie Wenfeng is the young master of a major family in Tamwood City. He’s not someone you can afford to offend,” Qiuchanyi whispered, worried that Ye Xiu would get into trouble for helping her.

However, the words had barely left her mouth when she heard Xie Wenfeng reply subserviently, ”Yes, yes, yes! I’ll scram right away, scram right away!”

He was so scared he abandoned his car and sprinted away, looking as if he bitterly regretted his parents hadn’t given him two extra legs.

Truth be told, the moment Xie Wenfeng saw Ye Xiu, he was nearly scared out of his wits. The last time he had tried to act tough in front of Ye Xiu, the Xie Family had almost been wiped out. Even to this day, the Xie Family had to give thirty percent of its annual profits to Ye Xiu as tribute.

”This...”

Qiuchanyi and the onlookers were stunned. They couldn’t understand why Xie Wenfeng would be afraid of Ye Xiu, who was just a doctor.

”It seems your status in the business world is higher than the Xie Family’s, but you’re still not my type,” Qiuchanyi said. ”Still, thank you for helping me get rid of that fly, Xie Wenfeng.”

Then, pointing at Ye Xiu, she enunciated every single word: ”Do. Not. Follow. Me. Again.”

Ye Xiu couldn’t be bothered with her and walked toward the parking lot.

Another suitor dealt with. Qiuchanyi’s mood lifted considerably. She hopped on her scooter and headed to Ever Spring Hall.

It was a small, traditional medicine shop.

”Dad, do we have a visitor?” Qiuchanyi asked as she walked in, seeing a refined, scholarly-looking old man with a walking cane having tea with her father.

Before her father, Qiu Hongtu, could respond, the elegant old man sized her up and said kindly, ”Hongtu, this must be your precious daughter, Qiuchanyi, right? She’s truly a phoenix among women. Excellent, excellent.”

After the praise, he introduced himself. ”I am a friend of your great-grandfather’s. Your own grandfather would have had to call me ’Uncle.’ My name is Ye Daoxuan.”

Qiuchanyi was secretly alarmed. He’s a friend of my great-grandfather? Then he must be a Hermit... but what is he doing here?

Noticing her father’s displeased expression, which suggested he wasn’t fond of Ye Daoxuan, Qiuchanyi instantly guessed the purpose of his visit.

She immediately asked, ”Greetings, Elder Ye. Are you here to persuade my dad to join forces with you against the three major Judicator Families?”
