Medical and Martial God

Chapter 479: Chapter 479: Smoking, Drinking, and Getting a Perm for You

What?

The faces of Long Yifei and the members of the thirteen external families changed dramatically. The Clan Leader had actually fought Huang Quan last night and survived?

”Huang Quan?” Ye Xiu feigned a serious expression. ”I didn’t expect your strength to be so formidable. To think you could survive an encounter with him. Impressive, most impressive!”

Long Yifei and the members of the thirteen external families also shot him looks of admiration.

”I’m no match for Huang Quan.” The Clan Leader, his face swollen and bruised, was all smiles, feeling no disgrace for not being Huang Quan’s equal. He laughed and said, ”Huang Quan came to me last night and we cleared up the misunderstanding. However, since Long Zhen is a member of the Long Family, Huang Quan couldn’t just let it go. He gave me a beating and said he’d do it once a day until he’s satisfied.”

Heh, when did I ever say I’d beat him until he was satisfied? Ye Xiu scoffed inwardly.

Upon hearing the Clan Leader’s words, Long Yifei and the members of the thirteen external families collectively breathed a sigh of relief. Ever since learning that Huang Quan had targeted the Long Family, everyone from the Long Family and the thirteen external families had fallen into despair. They felt as if they were living with a sword hanging over their heads, liable to be killed by Huang Quan at any moment. But now, things were looking up. The Clan Leader and Huang Quan had resolved their misunderstanding. From now on, as long as the Clan Leader took a daily beating, the Long Family and the thirteen external families would be safe.

”From now on, none of you need to worry about Huang Quan’s butcher’s knife falling at any moment,” the Clan Leader said with a smile. ”You can all focus your efforts on dealing with Ye Xiu.”

Everyone nodded.

”Ye Liangchen, my injuries are quite serious. Would you mind treating me?” the Clan Leader asked with a smile. The fact that he asked a question instead of giving a command was proof of how highly he regarded Ye Liangchen.

”Of course,” Ye Xiu said after taking the Clan Leader’s left hand and feeling his pulse for a moment. ”These injuries are nothing. In just half an hour, I can have you back on your feet and full of life.”

Hearing this, Tang Bo hurried over. ”Clan Leader, may I take your pulse?”

”Go ahead,” the Clan Leader nodded.

Tang Bo immediately took the Clan Leader’s pulse. A moment later, a shocked expression appeared on his face. ”This is far too serious! Your injuries are severe, both internally and externally. And with injuries this grave, Ye Liangchen, you claim you can heal them in just half an hour?”

”Just wait and see,” Ye Xiu said, taking out a set of silver needles he had prepared earlier. He told the Clan Leader, ”We’ll do the treatment right here. Lie down.”

”Alright.” The Clan Leader obediently removed his Black Cloak, spread it on the ground, and lay down upon it.

Ye Xiu squatted down, suppressing the urge to kill the Clan Leader with a single needle, and began inserting the silver needles into the Clan Leader’s body one by one.

Long Yifei and everyone from the thirteen external families gathered around to admire Ye Liangchen’s medical skills. Tang Bo, in particular, stood right beside Ye Xiu. He was incredibly curious. Long Yifei’s injuries were less severe than the Clan Leader’s, yet Ye Liangchen hadn’t been able to heal him quickly. How could he possibly heal the Clan Leader in under half an hour? He’s bluffing! Ye Liangchen has to be bluffing!

But in the very next moment, Tang Bo, Long Yifei, and everyone from the thirteen external families watched in utter amazement. The injuries on the Clan Leader’s face, arms, and all other exposed skin began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye. In a mere ten minutes, Ye Xiu had healed all of the Clan Leader’s external injuries.

Another twenty minutes passed.

The Clan Leader stood up, smiling as if nothing had ever been wrong. ”Truly worthy of being the disciple of the Evil Doctor Nangong Lie, and truly worthy of the legendary Traveling Dragon Moxibustion Technique. Ye Liangchen, your medical skills are simply divine! I’m afraid even Ye Xiu’s skills couldn’t possibly match yours.”

Heh, I *am* the great ’Master Ye’ you speak of... Ye Xiu chuckled to himself but said aloud, ”Once you’ve caught Ye Xiu, we can have a competition.”

”Excellent!” the Clan Leader nodded. ”I must go inform the rest of the Long Family about the situation with Huang Quan, so I won’t linger.”

Ye Xiu nodded. ”Since Huang Quan is no longer a threat, why not summon all of the Long Family’s elites here? There’s strength in numbers; we could find Ye Xiu much faster.”

”Good point!” The Clan Leader nodded and hurried away.

Only after the Clan Leader was far in the distance did Tang Bo finally ask, ”Ye Liangchen, your medical skills are clearly astonishing. Why didn’t you treat Long Yifei directly, instead just casually prescribing him some medicine?”

The others also looked at Ye Xiu with curiosity. Long Yifei, in particular, was about to explode with rage. That bastard Ye Liangchen clearly had the ability to heal him in a short amount of time, but instead, he just prescribed medicine, forcing him to recover slowly.

”He’s always been targeting me. Why should I put in the thankless effort to heal him? Prescribing medicine at all was already me showing the Long Family some face,” Ye Xiu said with a shrug.

Realization dawned on the crowd. Long Yifei nearly coughed up blood from fury but was powerless to lash out.

”Everyone, load the livestock and vegetables onto the carts!” Ye Xiu yelled to the people by the large vehicles. In reality, all of them were his own subordinates. He was deliberately having his subordinates haul away the livestock and vegetables to leave Long Yifei and the thirteen external families to go hungry. This would make it easier to indebt them with favors and eventually bring them under his control. Of course, his earlier challenge to Xing Ming, where he intentionally revealed his strength surpassed that of a War God, was also meant to awe the thirteen external families. He was subtly planting a seed in their minds: following him would lead to a promising future.

”All members of the Xing Family, listen up! Help load the carts!” Xing Ming shouted.

”Alright!” Not caring about getting dirty, the Xing Family members rushed into the livestock pens and vegetable fields. They helped catch the animals and pick vegetables, weighed them, and loaded them onto the carts. The members of the other twelve external families, eager to curry favor with Ye Xiu, also pitched in.

Soon, Ye Xiu collected the payment and returned to his villa. The people from the thirteen external families also departed one by one.

”Young Master Fei, the livestock and vegetables are all gone. What are we going to eat?” Xing Ming asked after carrying Long Yifei back into the room and setting him down on the bed.

Long Yifei was still fuming about being sold out by Xing Ming, but he didn’t blame him, worried it might push the Xing Family into Ye Xiu’s camp. He said, ”Find a few quick-handed people to go out and get some money. Don’t let anyone else know about this.”

”Alright.” Xing Ming nodded, then immediately went out and found a few members of the Wei Family, telling them to go get the money. This way, if anything went wrong, the Wei Family would take the blame, and it would have nothing to do with the Xing Family.

Ye Xiu returned to his villa.

A short while later, Tang Bo, Gu Meng, Nangong Yue, Bai Xi, and Wen Rubing came in.

”Ye Liangchen... um... could you teach me the Traveling Dragon Moxibustion Technique?” the usually cool Tang Bo asked with a cheeky grin. He was completely won over by Ye Xiu. Ye Xiu’s current strength was no less than his own; as for medical skills, his were... well, his own skills couldn’t even begin to compare with Ye Xiu’s. Add to that Ye Xiu’s astonishing talent in martial arts, and all Tang Bo wanted now was to be Ye Xiu’s little brother and follow his lead.

”If I were to teach you the Traveling Dragon Moxibustion Technique, you’d have to accept me as your master. But since we’re around the same age, how about this: acknowledge me as your big brother, and I’ll teach it to you,” Ye Xiu said, putting on the air of a lofty expert.

Tang Bo dropped to his knees with a thud and raised his right hand to the sky. ”I, Tang Bo, swear to the heavens that from this day forward, you are my big brother! For the rest of my life, I will follow you through thick and thin—I’ll smoke for you, drink for you, and even get my hair permed for you!”

Ye Xiu sucked in a sharp breath. He’s just acknowledging me as his big brother. Is all this ceremony really necessary?

Seeing that Ye Xiu and Tang Bo were finished, Gu Meng asked, ”Big Brother Ye, where are you taking me to have fun today?”

”You stay home. I’ll go out with Big Brother Ye,” Nangong Yue said.

”I want to go too,” Bai Xi added timidly.

”I’ll follow you wherever you go,” Wen Rubing stated, clearly determined to stick to Ye Xiu like glue.

Ye Xiu felt a massive headache coming on. Having this much luck with the ladies isn’t necessarily a good thing.
