Medical and Martial God

Chapter 453: Chapter 453: Buddha Palm Slaps the Face

Jin Lian ignored Zhang Chuntao. She was so frightened by Ye Xiu’s words that she nearly broke out in a cold sweat.

She was under orders to negotiate the details of a partnership with the Song Family. If Ye Xiu mistakenly believed she wanted to develop the Zhang Family as a partner, he would undoubtedly kick the Jin Family out of the running without a second thought.

”Sir, I don’t know where you heard that, but I can assure you it’s nothing more than a rumor. The Zhang Family is not on my list of potential partners to investigate during my trip to Han Jin City.” Jin Lian spoke to Ye Xiu with a grave expression. She had already received a message from him instructing her to pretend they were strangers.

”Jin Lian, you...”

Zhang Chuntao and Zhang Shaoping’s faces fell. They never expected her to say something like this in public. It was a blatant slap in the face, completely crushing the Zhang Family’s hopes of partnering with Ye Xiu.

”Zhang Shaoping, you’ve lost,” Ling Yue said with a smile. ”I’ll send someone to the Zhang Group soon to take over that plot of land.”

Panicked, Zhang Shaoping shot a desperate look at Zhang Chuntao.

”Jin Lian.” Zhang Chuntao was even more frantic. He said hurriedly, ”Jin Lian, we were classmates in college, good friends! The Zhang Family may not be a medical company, but we own shares in Runhua Pharmaceuticals. With Runhua Pharmaceuticals’ standing in the medical world, we are certainly qualified to partner with Ye Xiu.”

”I’m sorry, but Runhua Pharmaceuticals does not qualify,” Jin Lian said ruthlessly.

She and Zhang Chuntao had indeed been classmates, but they were far from good friends. In fact, she despised him. The only reason she hadn’t openly turned against him was due to the Zhang Family’s influence in the business world.

”You...” The color drained from Zhang Chuntao’s face. He hadn’t expected Jin Lian to be so ruthless, completely humiliating him in public.

Zhang Shaoping’s face was ashen. Failing to partner with Ye Xiu meant that he and Zhang Chuntao had no powerful backer to help them stand against Ye Liangchen.

Cao Yang, Chairman of Runhua Pharmaceuticals, glowered at Zhang Shaoping. Runhua Pharmaceuticals might have tried to negotiate with Jin Lian, but Zhang Chuntao’s meddling had just destroyed any possibility of them partnering with Ye Xiu.

”Sir, do you have any other questions?” Jin Lian asked Ye Xiu.

”No,” Ye Xiu said with a smile.

Jin Lian breathed a sigh of relief and gave Xu Tingbai a meaningful look. At her signal, the twelve-person Guard Squad immediately began escorting her group of six toward the airport exit.

As the crowd hurried to follow, Zhang Shaoping and Zhang Chuntao tried to blend in and escape, but Ye Xiu stopped them.

”Please spare us, Mr. Ye!”

Terrified, Zhang Shaoping and Zhang Chuntao fell to their knees with a THUD.

Ye Xiu grabbed Zhang Chuntao by the neck, hoisting him up. ”At the Mingde Clinic, you had Yin Gaofei try to slice me into pieces. When I got to the airport, you wanted to use Yin Tianxi to kill me, and just now, you tried to use Jin Lian to do the same. After all these ’great favors’ you’ve shown me, how could I possibly spare you?” he said coldly.

SPLASH!

Terrified, Zhang Chuntao wet himself, wailing, ”Don’t kill me! I was wrong! Dad, save me, save me...”

”Mr. Ye, Mr. Ye...” Zhang Shaoping clung to Ye Xiu’s legs, begging, ”Please spare my son’s life. I’ll do whatever you ask, I’m willing, just please, I beg you...”

These were the exact words Ye Xiu had been waiting for. He looked down at Zhang Shaoping and said coldly, ”Anything?”

”Yes, yes! As long as you spare my son, I’ll do anything!” Zhang Shaoping replied in a panic.

”I want you to give the Song Family everything,” Ye Xiu said sternly. ”All of the Zhang Family’s wealth, all your company stock, and all shares in companies you’ve invested in.”

”What?” Zhang Shaoping’s eyes widened in disbelief.

”If you dare to disagree, it won’t just be Zhang Chuntao,” Ye Xiu said, his voice laced with chilling Killing Intent. ”You and every single member of the Zhang Family will die.”

”I’ll do it!” Zhang Shaoping shrieked in terror. Compared to their lives, wealth was nothing. As long as they were alive, there was always a chance to make a comeback.

”Go back and prepare everything. I’ll release Zhang Chuntao the moment the Song Family takes possession of the Zhang Family’s assets,” Ye Xiu ordered.

”Yes, yes, yes!” Zhang Shaoping scrambled to his feet and bolted away.

Ye Xiu then threw Zhang Chuntao aside and walked over to Yin Tianxi and Yin Gaofei. ”Now it’s your turn,” he said coldly.

The two of them trembled with fear. Yin Gaofei, in particular, was finally experiencing true terror after witnessing how Ye Xiu had dealt with the Zhang Family.

”Godfather... Gaofei is still just a child, he doesn’t know any better. Please, forgive him,” Yin Tianxi pleaded in terror. He had seen Ye Xiu’s power firsthand. If Ye Xiu decided to kill Yin Gaofei, there was nothing he could do to stop him.

Ye Xiu unsheathed Yin Tianxi’s sword and pointed it at Yin Gaofei. ”At the Mingde Clinic,” he said coldly, ”at Zhang Chuntao’s command, Yin Gaofei was about to skin me alive. A moment ago, he wanted you to cripple my Martial Prowess so he could kill me himself. Someone who has no sense of right and wrong, who holds life in such contempt... allowing a person like that to live would be an act of social irresponsibility.”

”Grand-godfather, no!” Yin Gaofei shrieked, collapsing to his knees in terror. ”Everything I did, Zhang Chuntao ordered me to! He’s the mastermind! I-I was just following his orders! Please don’t kill me, I beg you, Grand-godfather, please don’t kill me...”

”Godfather, Gaofei knows he was wrong. Please give him a chance to change his ways. I promise he will never again dare to break the law with his martial arts,” Yin Tianxi begged, also dropping to his knees.

”Like father, like son. A leopard can’t change its spots,” Ye Xiu said coldly. ”Yin Gaofei has the personality he does because of your influence as his father. For money, you went to Jin Ye City to kill ’Ye Xiu’ on behalf of the Long Family. For the Shen Family’s Cultivation Technique, you agreed to help Shen Songshan kill Jin Lian. Scum like you, who treat life as disposable for personal gain, are the absolute worst.”

Yin Tianxi was stunned. ”Godfather, how... how did you know all this?”

”Does it matter?” Ye Xiu retorted.

It doesn’t matter, Yin Tianxi thought. He then said aloud, ”Godfather, you are right to scold me. I will never kill for money again. Please, give Gaofei and me a chance to turn over a new leaf.”

”Agree to one condition, and I will give you both a chance,” Ye Xiu said.

”Please, tell me!” Yin Tianxi said eagerly.

”From today onward, the Yin Family is responsible for protecting the Song Family. If you fail to protect them properly, I will personally annihilate the entire Yin Family. Do you agree?”

This was Ye Xiu’s real motive for taking Yin Tianxi as his godson. The Song Family was too poor and too weak, and because its members were too upright, they easily offended people.

That’s why Ye Xiu gave the Zhang Family’s assets to the Song Family and tasked the Yin Family with their protection.

With this, the Song Family partnership is secured!

”I agree!” Yin Tianxi said without a moment’s hesitation.

”Good,” Ye Xiu nodded. ”Cease all contact with the Long and Shen families. When I have time, I will teach you the Shen Family’s Cultivation Technique.”

With that, he hauled Zhang Chuntao away and left.

...

After leaving the airport with the main group, Song Yushu, Song Mingde, and Song Kaiwen were stopped by Ling Yun.

”Gentlemen, someone wishes to meet you,” Ling Yun said with a smile.

Startled, the three of them asked, ”Who?”

”If you don’t mind, I’d like to keep that a secret for now. Please, come with me,” Ling Yun said mysteriously.

Confused but intrigued, the three men followed Ling Yun into a luxurious RV.

A moment later, Jin Lian entered.
