Medical and Martial God

Chapter 475: Chapter 475: That’s Enough Beating for Today

All the Long Family members searching for Long Yifei spun around and looked toward the pigpen when they heard the shout. Ye Xiu and Tang Bo immediately ran over.

”Where is he?” Ye Xiu asked, already knowing the answer.

”Over here,” the person who had shouted replied, pointing at Long Yifei, who was curled up in the pigpen and covered in filth.

Ye Xiu and the others quickly surrounded the pigpen to get a better look.

Everyone gasped.

At that moment, Long Yifei was a truly unbearable sight. He was filthy from head to toe, his entire body seemingly disfigured.

”Young Master Fei, even if you were ambushed, you didn’t have to hide in a pigpen, did you?” Ye Xiu asked with a laugh, unable to hold back. ”And if you were going to hide, why strip off all your clothes?”

PFFT!

Someone couldn’t suppress their laughter, and then the entire crowd erupted in hysterics. They simply couldn’t help it. They all accepted Ye Xiu’s theory that Long Yifei had stripped naked and hidden in the pigpen to escape his enemies.

Long Yifei was practically seething with rage. He had been severely injured by the masked men in black, then mauled by a herd of pigs. If not for his formidable constitution, he would have been dead by now. Yet, instead of rescuing him, this group was just standing around mocking him.

That accursed Ye Liangchen!

”What are you all standing around for? Hurry up and get Young Master Fei out of that pigpen,” Ye Xiu said with a chuckle.

The crowd members exchanged glances, but no one was willing to touch the filthy Long Yifei, who was covered from head to toe in pig dung. In the end, it was members of the Xing and Wei Families who rescued him.

”Ye Liangchen, you’re a doctor! Aren’t you going to treat Young Master Fei?” a young man snapped at Ye Xiu. Ye Xiu recalled his name was Xing Ming.

”Clean him up first,” Ye Xiu replied.

The members of the Xing and Wei Families connected a hose to a tap and gave Long Yifei a makeshift, open-air bath with freezing cold well water. Only after the filth was washed away could everyone see the true severity of his injuries. He was covered in black and blue bruises, with many areas swollen. Moreover, his entire body was covered in pig bite marks.

”What are you waiting for? Hurry up and treat Young Master Fei!” Xing Ming yelled angrily at Ye Xiu.

”Oh,” Ye Xiu knelt, checked Long Yifei’s pulse, then stood up. ”Bring me a pen and paper. I’ll write a couple of prescriptions for you to go fill.”

The Xing and Wei Family members were instantly furious. Where were they supposed to find a pharmacy in the middle of the night? Besides, they weren’t familiar with Guoyang and had no idea where any pharmacies were located. However, they also knew that one needed medicine to treat injuries; Ye Liangchen wasn’t a god who could heal people without it. So, Xing Ming found a pen and paper. Ye Xiu wrote two prescriptions, which Xing Ming took before leading a few Xing Family members out to search for a pharmacy.

”Your medical skills are nothing special,” Tang Bo remarked haughtily, glancing at Ye Xiu. He had watched as Ye Xiu wrote the prescriptions and felt that his own would have been far more effective. He just disliked Long Yifei and had no intention of treating him.

Ye Xiu returned to the villa, went to his room to quickly change into the Huang Quan Suit, and slipped out quietly through the back door. Under the cover of darkness, he left the Long Family Manor.

「...」

In one of Guoyang’s most exclusive villa districts, the Long Clan Leader was sound asleep in a second-floor bedroom.

KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK!

The sudden sound jolted the Clan Leader awake. He sat up abruptly, grabbing the saber from his nightstand with a look of alarm.

”Who is it?” he asked in a low voice.

BANG!

The door was kicked open.

Ye Xiu, dressed in the Huang Quan Suit, walked in and casually flipped on the bedroom light.

”Huang Quan?” the Clan Leader cried out. He leaped from the bed, drew his saber, and stared at Ye Xiu in terror. ”You... you, you, how did you know I was here?”

Ye Xiu snorted coldly. ”What? Did you think that because I came to Guoyang to cause trouble for the Long Family, I would never imagine that you yourself would dare to be here? So you scattered tens of thousands of your family members across Guoyang’s villages while you secretly hid here, deceiving your own clan.”

”What’s that saying? ’It’s darkest under the lamp’? The most dangerous place is the safest place?” Ye Xiu sneered. ”Do you take me for a fool, or do you think you’re just too clever?”

Hearing this, the Clan Leader’s expression changed dramatically.

How terrifying! Huang Quan is far too terrifying! He had never even met the man, yet Huang Quan had seen right through his entire plan. Furthermore, he had only arrived in Guoyang this afternoon and had already been found. It seemed Guoyang was completely under Huang Quan’s control.

”If I said I knew nothing about Long Zhen summoning the 300,000 Allied Forces to the Xuanse border, or his schemes for the Battle Soul Blade, would you believe me?” the Clan Leader asked weakly. Facing Huang Quan, he lacked even the courage to fight for his life and could only act subserviently.

Ye Xiu didn’t believe a word, but he said, ”I believe you.”

”Thank you, thank you!” The Clan Leader was overjoyed and immediately launched into a stream of flattery. ”You truly have keen insight and unparalleled wisdom! I knew there was no truth in this world you couldn’t uncover...”

Ye Xiu was at a loss for words, disgusted that the dignified Long Family Clan Leader would resort to such shameless and disgraceful bootlicking just to save his own life.

Seeing Ye Xiu’s silence, the Clan Leader asked tentatively, ”So... since you’ve uncovered the truth, why have you come to find me in the middle of the night?”

”Even if Long Zhen’s actions weren’t on your orders, he is still a member of the Long Family,” Ye Xiu said coldly.

The Clan Leader’s heart leaped into his throat. He asked, trembling, ”You... you’re here to kill me? No, please, don’t! The mistakes were Long Zhen’s! The Long Family and I are innocent! You... you can’t hold us responsible!”

”Relax. I’m not here to kill you, nor will I kill anyone else from the Long Family,” Ye Xiu said, offering a sliver of reassurance before his tone turned icy again. ”However, Long Zhen is a Long Family member. It wouldn’t be right if I did nothing to your family. Therefore, I’ve decided to give you a beating every day.”

With that, he flicked his hand, sending the Clan Leader tumbling onto the bed. Ye Xiu then leaped onto the bed and began to rain down a merciless beating.

The Clan Leader didn’t resist, allowing Ye Xiu to punch and kick him. He didn’t dare fight back, terrified of provoking Huang Quan into actually killing him. Still, the heart that had been pounding in his chest finally settled. A daily beating was infinitely better than being killed and having the Long Family exterminated.

But damn, Huang Quan is ruthless! This hurts like hell!

”Alright, that’s enough for today. I’ll be back for you tomorrow,” Ye Xiu said, stopping his assault. ”And remember, no one from the Long Family is to return to Hundred Flowers Valley. Or else... hmph.”

Leaving this final threat hanging in the air, he departed.

In truth, Ye Xiu’s visit tonight was to give the Long Clan Leader a dose of courage. As long as the Clan Leader lived in fear of Huang Quan, he would never dare to act decisively against ’Ye Xiu’. Now that he knew Huang Quan wouldn’t annihilate the Long Family, he would surely rally all his family’s power and focus their efforts entirely on dealing with Ye Xiu.

Ye Xiu planned to use his ’Ye Xiu’ identity to play games with the Long Family.
