Chapter 459: Chapter 459: The Eagle Eats the Chick

”Are you in some kind of trouble?”

Tang Bo was slightly confused. The waiter had brought Ye Xiu drinks and money, and now a beautiful woman was approaching their table. As a country bumpkin who had never seen the world, this sequence of events was completely beyond his understanding.

”None of your business,” Ye Xiu retorted.

Tang Bo took a deep breath. What now? You want to go at it? Fine! Let’s see who gets hurt!

He held his breath, waiting for Ye Xiu to speak so he could fire back, but Ye Xiu just ignored him. It felt like punching a wad of cotton, leaving him utterly frustrated.

At this moment, Miss Cao approached. Seductive without being vulgar, she asked, ”May I sit here?”

Before Ye Xiu could answer, Tang Bo said coolly, ”No one’s stopping you.”

Miss Cao ignored Tang Bo and smiled at Ye Xiu.

”Sit,” Ye Xiu said calmly.

”Thank you!” Miss Cao smiled charmingly and sat down gracefully. She turned sideways to face Ye Xiu, leaving Tang Bo with only a view of her profile.

Her figure was incredibly hot. Tang Bo, a man with zero experience, was momentarily stunned. A line from a poem suddenly burst into his mind: a ridge from the front, a peak from the side; each view, near or far, high or low, is unique.

So *that’s* what this poem means! Dammit, that Su Shi was a real pervert... Tang Bo grumbled internally.

”It seems my friend here is quite interested in you,” Ye Xiu noted with a smile to Miss Cao, having seen Tang Bo’s stare.

”I’m not interested,” Miss Cao replied, her own smile unwavering.

Tang Bo felt deeply insulted.

”Quite the ego you have there,” Miss Cao said, looking at Tang Bo with mockery in her eyes. ”I’ve seen countless men, and I can tell at a glance that you’ve never even touched a woman, have you?”

Tang Bo’s face turned beet red as he frantically defended himself, ”That’s bullshit—”

Ye Xiu looked at Tang Bo in shock. This guy sure can talk big. However, he realized that Tang Bo’s retorts weren’t entirely intentional. The guy had been secluded in the mountains for so long that he didn’t understand the ways of the world. His nature was simple, which, combined with a proud personality and low emotional intelligence, was a volatile mix.

”Your friend is acting like an impetuous three-year-old,” Miss Cao commented to Ye Xiu.

”He never graduated from kindergarten,” Ye Xiu joked.

”No wonder his boasting lacks any finesse,” Miss Cao said with a nod of understanding.

”I’m not boasting!” Tang Bo shot to his feet, his face flushed with anger. ”I swear to God—”

Miss Cao was speechless. She had just been joking casually and hadn’t expected such a strong reaction from him. It was clear that Tang Bo wouldn’t let the matter rest until it was settled. After a moment’s thought, she said, ”Talk is cheap. Why don’t you prove it?”

”How am I supposed to prove that?” Tang Bo asked.

Ye Xiu was shocked. Just to prove whether Tang Bo was boasting or not, Miss Cao was actually going to find him a woman. Her methods were truly ruthless.

”This...” Tang Bo blushed. He was embarrassed at the thought of doing *that* with a complete stranger. But things had already come this far. He couldn’t possibly refuse now, or he’d be admitting he was a virgin.

Steeling himself, he agreed, ”Alright.”

Miss Cao turned and waved at a girl at her table.

The girl came over and asked, ”Ting, what’s up? Can’t you handle two men by yourself? Did you want to give me one?” As she spoke, she lecherously sized up both Ye Xiu and Tang Bo, her gaze finally settling on Ye Xiu. She had clearly taken a liking to him.

”Fangfang, here’s the thing...” Miss Cao quickly explained the situation.

”Oh?” The girl named Fangfang’s eyes lit up. She grabbed Tang Bo’s hand and started to pull him away. ”I love playing with inexperienced boys. Come on, let’s go to the restroom. Big Sister will teach you a thing or two.”

Tang Bo was stunned. Are all city girls this bold? He didn’t refuse or resist, simply letting Fangfang lead him away.

Only then did Miss Cao have Ye Xiu all to herself.

”Finally, that annoying pest is gone,” she complained, her eyes fixed greedily on Ye Xiu as she asked, ”I’m Cao Ting. What’s your name?”

”We’re strangers who met by chance, and this is likely the only time our paths will ever cross. You don’t need to know my name,” Ye Xiu responded indifferently.

What a poser... Cao Ting scoffed internally. Having been around men for years, she had seen plenty of them. She had even slept with a few who, like this one, pretended to be cold and aloof. She was very experienced in dealing with such men.

”In this vast sea of people, our meeting here is fate,” she said. ”I think I’m fairly attractive, and I’m throwing myself at you. Aren’t you even a little tempted?”

Simple, direct seduction was the first step to cracking a poser’s facade.

”With a woman like you, it can only be physical, not emotional. Otherwise, you’d leave me battered and bruised,” Ye Xiu said, taking a sip of his beer as his gaze drifted toward the gyrating bodies on the stage.

This man is interesting!

”Then let’s keep it physical, no feelings involved,” Cao Ting purred. She stood up, slid onto Ye Xiu’s lap, and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Throwing herself at him to stimulate his hormones and primal urges was step two.

Ye Xiu put an arm around Cao Ting’s waist and whispered in her ear, ”You’re too old.”

”Since you have a problem with my age, then forget it!” Cao Ting shrugged, then got up and walked away without a second’s hesitation.

Playing hard to get!

Cao Ting had used this tactic many times. First, the temptation. Next, the direct advance. Finally, playing hard to get. After this, the man would inevitably give in and approach her, allowing her to turn the tables and seize control.

Back at her own table, Cao Ting waited for Ye Xiu to take the bait and approach her.

However, she noticed Ye Xiu was as steady as a rock. His attention remained fixed on the beautiful dancers on stage, and he didn’t spare her a single glance.

I’ve run into an expert... Cao Ting thought, a thrill running through her. She had never met a man like Ye Xiu before, and it greatly stimulated her desire to conquer him. A man like this is the only kind worth playing with!

And so, Cao Ting returned to Ye Xiu’s table. Just as she was about to speak, Tang Bo and Fangfang came back.
