Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Among the large number of wandering cultivators who had begun making the journey to the Shattered Star Peaks to find a spiritually rich place to cultivate, there were also those weaker mortals aware of the growing danger of demonic cultivators and the safety of the territory under the Star Shattering Sect, who decided to follow in the steps of some of the weaker wandering cultivators in the lower stages of the Qi Condensation Realm. Managing to gather a few low-quality spirit stones or spiritual herbs that their village or city had managed to obtain in the past and use them to buy the assistance of the Qi Condensation Realm wandering cultivators during the journey to the Star Shattering Sect.

Overall, those in the Qi Condensation Realm weren’t much faster than normal mortals when it came to travelling over long distances. So, they were more than willing to escort a group of mortals while making their way to the territory of the Star Shattering Sect.

In any case, if they really did end up encountering a truly deadly situation they couldn’t handle, they would always be able to run away while the weaker mortals could serve as bait. Potentially allowing them to escape a deadly situation they wouldn’t have been able to escape under normal circumstances.

Of course, these kinds of thoughts were not shared with the mortals they were escorting and was more so just the private thoughts of the wandering cultivators who had decided to escort the mortals while on their way to the territory of the Star Shattering Sect.

As for wandering cultivators robbing mortals… There were situations like that but given that the mortals would normally offer up anything of value to the wandering cultivators in exchange for being escorted, it didn’t happen that often. On the other hand, there was a far higher chance that the wandering cultivators would take the chance to escort a group of mortals even without any adequate payment for the simple reason that they would have a group of people looking after them during the long journey to the territory of the Star Shattering Sect. Giving them more time to cultivate inside a carriage, while most mundane troubles that would normally have required their attention to deal with was dealt with by the group of mortals.

Unfortunately, with the distances involved and the relatively weak strength of these wandering cultivators and mortals, it was unlikely the Star Shattering Sect would see any of them in the near future, as most would take years to reach the borders of the sect’s now rather sizable territory and even longer for the Qi Condensation Realm wandering cultivators to get anywhere near the Shattered Star Peaks.

To some extent, the decision for wandering cultivators at the Qi Condensation Realm to head towards the territory of the Star Shattering Sect could be considered a big decision that would determine their future and one that had been heavily influenced by the increasingly dangerous demonic cultivators who had begun to appear outside the Frozen Wastelands and throughout the different kingdoms and empires that had remained mostly unaffected by the demonic cultivators in the past.

The Star Shattering Sect, though also suffering from attacks of demonic cultivators, was clearly on a different level compared to the different empires and kingdoms, as rumors had long since spread among the weaker cultivators through the outer regions in the northern section of continent about the clear difference in strength between the Star Shattering Sect and other powers in the outer regions, some more informed wandering cultivators even learning that the Star Shattering Sect seemed to operate on a completely different level than the surrounding kingdoms and empires.

All that was to say, the Star Shattering Sect’s territory had slowly become the place for the weaker cultivators who wanted to avoid demonic cultivators and were too weak to head to the Northern Central Region, something that only became more obvious when news of the Bright Stone City began to spread among wandering cultivators.

And among these cultivators who had recently made their way to the Star Shattering Sect’s territory was a group of brothers who had been among the first few to rush over. Not for the newly built city at the, but instead because the kingdom they had originally resided in had been overrun by demonic cultivators. Leaving them with no other choice but to escape.

Ending up inside the territory of the Star Shattering Sect could be considered a complete accident, as they only realized where they were after another wandering cultivator far stronger than them had stopped to ask them about directions to the Shattered Star Peaks. Just to end up disappointed upon learning that the two brothers had no idea where the Shattered Star Peaks was located, let alone what direction one would have to go to reach the place.

Luckily, the senior was kind and didn’t hold it against them. Leaving shortly after to search for someone who could answer his question.

”Chen Qiu, what do you think about going to the that city at the Shattered Star Peaks that the senior from earlier mentioned?” Unsurprisingly, Zhao Rong, one of the two wandering cultivators turned to ask his brother about also going to the city that had been mentioned by the senior in the Core Formation Realm, causing Chen Qiu, the most senior among the two of them to fall into deep thought as he weighed the negatives and positives of this suggestion.

Having already spent a little over a month inside the territory of the Star Shattering Sect unknowingly, he could clearly tell that the overall state of this sect’s territory was good and easy for weaker cultivators like themselves to make a living, when there had been a bit of chaos a few weeks ago, it had quickly been suppressed by people he now guessed to be cultivators from this Star Shattering Sect in control of the region.

Given his own strength at the Middle Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm, having constructed five foundational pillars, while his brother had reached the Peak of the Early Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm. Having constructed three foundational pillars while already close to constructing the fourth, their strength could be considered decent among wandering cultivators, and their current wealth would also be enough to settle down for a few years to focus solely on cultivation.

”I think we should go and take a look or at least learn more about the city that was mentioned briefly by that senior…” With all that in mind, Chen Qiu slowly nodded his head in response to what his brother said. Feeling that it might be a good idea for them to visit this new city constructed by the Star Shattering Sect for wandering cultivators.

Not just because it was a city directly under the protection of a powerful sect like the Star Shattering Sect, but also because the concentration of spiritual qi inside the city was above that of the outside world.

Although they had no idea how much this increased concentration of spiritual qi was from what little information the Core Formation Realm senior had shared with them before disappearing, it was clear that it shouldn’t be insignificant to attract someone in the Core Formation Realm.

After all, Cheng Qiu had clearly noticed how excited that senior had been upon mentioning the increased spiritual qi concentration at the Shattered Star Peaks. Making it clear that the main reason for that senior’s interest in the Shattered Star Peaks and the new city that had been constructed by the Star Shattering Sect had to do with the increased spiritual qi concentration of the place. Not the market or other shops that might have been opened by the Star Shattering Sect in the city.

For a Core Formation Realm cultivator to be so interested because of the spiritual qi concentration of the newly built city, it was clear that it would be useful for the two of them. If they could find a place to stay inside a city like that, it would clearly be beneficial to the two of them and their cultivation.

Maybe… Just maybe it would be a chance for his brother to also breakthrough into the Middle Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm, something that would elevate the strength of their little group of two by a lot. After all, two Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators in the Middle Stage of the realm could already be considered to be amongst the top of wandering cultivators, as most who broke through to the Foundation Establishment Realm found themselves limited to the early stage of the realm.

As for wandering cultivators above the Foundation Establishment Realm… Chen Qiu didn’t even dare think about reaching such a level for now, his goal was to help his brother first step into the Middle Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm before looking towards potentially reaching the Peak of the Middle Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm himself by constructing a sixth foundational pillar inside his dantian.

After that, the goal would be the Late Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm. Anything beyond that like the Core Formation Realm was still far off into the future for someone like himself.
