Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Allowing Meng Jie to take over the job of taming the Land Creation Realm with an ease that was completely unexpected considering the massive difference in strength between the two of them, Xuan Hao decided to keep an eye on the situation for now and see how it would play out. At the very least for now, everything seemed to work out well mainly because Meng Jie was in possession of healing pills that the Land Creation Realm demon beast needed to properly recover from its injuries.

Outside of that, there was also the simple fact that its strength had been restricted by him earlier on. Preventing it from forcibly seizing the healing pills from Meng Jie like it had originally wanted to do.

However, even with this, it was still odd that a Land Creation Realm demon beast would become so obedient in the face of a little Nascent Soul Realm cultivator like Meng Jie, though... Thinking about it, it likely had to do with the fact that it had suffered some serious mental damage from being left alone inside the treasury without any way to interact with anyone other than itself, causing it to easily form a friendship with someone far weaker than itself after only being offered a few healing pills.

If not for the fact that the time it took for a demon beast to reach this kind of mental state was in tens of thousands- if not hundreds of thousands of years, he would have been more than happy to recommend this kind of isolation-based demon beast taming for the sect.

Of course, outside of the long period of time involved, there was also the fact that there might be some other problems with a demon beast being in isolation on its own for such a long time, it was just that he hadn’t managed to figure out what these problems were yet because the Land Creation Realm demon beast had barely been awake for more than a few minutes.

Shaking his head as he pondered over all this while keeping his eye on the overall situation, Xuan Hao decided not to wander around the ancient sect ruins any longer now that the Land Creation Realm demon beast had appeared and instead decided to settle down not too far away from the center of the square where Huo Fen was busy with the five alchemy artifacts, while his disciple had already begun playing around with the demon beast a short distance away.

Although he could continue looking around the place as he still wanted to get his hands on a Saint Realm Alchemist Inheritance, he felt uneasy leaving Meng Jie and Huo Fen alone with a Land Creation Realm demon beast in case something ended up going wrong with the restrictions he had placed on it.

Like this, time slowly began to pass with Huo Fen busy ensuring nothing went wrong with the five alchemy artifacts, while his disciple was busy attempting to train the Land Creation Realm demon beast a few random tricks that looked no different from what mortals would teach their pets at home. The main difference being that the pet Meng Jie was teaching, was a Land Creation Realm demon beast that had enough strength to dominate a large region of the continent on its own.

Strong as it was, it was ultimately won over by the Saint Grade Healing Pills and was obediently following her lead. Acting like an oversized cat after a few hours of training from Meng Jie. Making Xuan Hao seriously realize that something had definitely ended up going wrong with the demon beast’s mental state after having spent such a long time in isolation on its own without anyone or anything to interact with outside of itself.

After all, no matter how tempting Saint Grade Healing Pills were and how much their strength had been restricted, there was simply no way a normal Land Creation Realm demon beast would have acted in this kind of manner. Only one that had suffered some serious damage to its head would end up in that kind of state after only a few hours being bribed with healing pills by a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator.

As for it being the Land Creation Realm demon beast pretending to be obedient? Xuan Hao didn’t even think about this being the case after seeing it happily show off its soft belly to Meng Jie after she voiced out her interest in its soft fur.

The now tamed Land Creation Realm demon beast aside, Xuan Hao found himself far more interested in the pill that Huo Fen was making with the help of the five alchemy artifacts. After all, it was clear that it was far from ordinary with how long it had taken, and the materials involved far exceeding the quality of what had been used when the master disciple pair had made a batch of Saint Grade Pills together with the help of the five alchemy artifacts-

BAAAANG-!

The problem was, since a few minutes ago, a loud banging sound had begun to echo throughout the small relatively intact section of the ancient alchemy sect that they found themselves in... And looking up into the sky above, countless ancient formation symbols could be clearly seen flowing together into an intricate complex array that formed a massive formation that covered the entirety of the small section of the ancient alchemy sect that they found themselves in-

BAAAANG-!

However, as the banging sound continued echoing out through the small space, countless small cracks began to spread across this massive formation, as several sections of ancient formation symbols dimmed before springing back to life again. The main difference being that when they lit up again, the several small cracks had already spread throughout them, as some had even directly broken apart and turned into motes of bright light that flowed into the surrounding ancient formation symbols.

Although this did strengthen these surrounding formation symbols temporarily, the overall strength of the guardian formation had clearly been weakened. If things continued, large sections of ancient formation symbols would end up being destroyed and with them, gaps would start opening in the already ancient guardian formation. Making it far simpler to break through.

As for the origin of the loud banging sound that echoed throughout the small intact section of the ancient alchemy sect? That wasn’t someone Xuan Hao or the other three inside the guardian formation could sense or see.

But... It wasn’t that difficult to guess that the one attacking the guardian formation from outside should be one of the Land Creation Realm cultivators who had entered the ancient alchemy sect ruins not too long ago.

No... Not just one Land Creation Realm cultivator, but two working together with each other attempting to break through the ancient guardian formation.

Dangerous as this was, Xuan Hao didn’t find himself especially troubled by the situation.

The reason for this was that he had clearly sensed it would take at least an hour or two before those two could break through the ancient guardian formation, though old and having suffered from not being repaired or properly maintained over the long years, the ancient guardian formation had turned out to be far stronger than he had originally thought. Able to relatively easily hold back two Land Creation Realm cultivators for a few hours.

If the rest of the Land Creation Realm cultivators showed up and joined in, it might have turned into a dangerous situation, but at least for now, it looked like there would be more than enough time for Huo Fen to finish up refining the pill he wanted to create with the help of the five alchemy artifacts.

As for those two outside contacting the other two Land Creation Realm cultivators for help in dealing with the ancient guardian formation? Xuan Hao doubted something like that would happen. After all, they had no idea that there was someone hiding on the other side of the ancient guardian formation and would certainly want to monopolize whatever they found inside for themselves. Making it extremely unlikely that they would inform others who would compete with them for the treasures inside.

Of course, this didn’t mean he could afford to let his guard down entirely, as he still had to prepare for the unexpected. Ensuring that he would be able to escape with Huo Fen, Meng Jie and the demon beast, the second something went wrong, and the guardian formation showed signs of breaking.

Because of this, he made sure everything that had been found by both him and the master disciple pair had been properly stored away. Leaving only the five alchemy artifacts at the center of the square for Huo Fen to continue working on.

In case something happened, he would immediately sweep the three of them up alongside the five alchemy artifacts and leave the ancient alchemy sect ruins through the passage they had originally entered the ancient alchemy sect ruins through no matter whether Huo Fen had succeeded in refining the pill he had wanted to make or not.
