Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Keeping an eye on Mui as she rapidly began drawing a rather sizable formation around one of the low-grade qi springs, Xuan Hao found himself drawn to the strange formation symbols of Mui. Finding himself unable to understand them no matter how long he stared. His comprehension of the Dao of Formation providing him with no assistance when it came to comprehending the formation symbols created by Mui, something that should have been impossible since he had reached the Peak of the Large Success Realm in the Dao of Formations while Mui had barely started out.

Strange as this was, it was also something he had expected when it came to Mui. So, he wasn’t too surprised and instead decided to switch part of his attention away from the formation symbols towards the low-grade qi spring that was now locked in the middle of Mui’s formation. Hoping that he might be able to gleam some insights into what the purpose of the formation symbols were by observing the qi spring, while at the same time also ensuring that he would be ready to interfere in case the formation showed any sign of damaging the qi spring.

Unfortunately, no matter what angle he attempted to observe the formation of his little disciple from, he couldn’t understand anything about it, as every little change that started to take place inside the formation around the qi spring completely eluded his senses…

”Haha! It works!” Unaware of the fact that her master was watching her from the side unable to understand anything about her formation, Mui smiled triumphantly as she watched her formation settle down around the low-grade qi spring. Filled with joy as she watched the thousands of small formation symbols she had created, circle around the qi spring below the water. Forming a strange and intangible connection that channeled the spiritual water created by the qi spring into the formation that in turn used the spiritual water to create more of the small formation symbols.

Soon enough, the thousands of small formation symbols she had originally created grew to tens of thousands before turning into a hundred thousand by the time Elder Song recovered from the shock of what his little granddaughter had done only a few seconds earlier.

Although, by this point in time it was far too late to stop the process, as the strength of the formation created by Mui had grown alongside the increasing number of formation symbols. Having reached a level of strength that would be difficult for anyone below the Soul Ascension Realm to damage… And with its growth speed, it would have grown strong enough to resist someone in the Soul Ascension Realm before anyone in the Soul Ascension Realm would even be able to destroy it.

The only one present who had any ability to stop this formation from growing any more was Xuan Hao, but he wasn’t exactly interested in destroying the formation.

Because of this, Elder Song and the rest of the elders and disciples who began to show up to watch what was happening, could only watch from the side as the formation created by Mui continued to grow without any sign of stopping…

”This… This formation isn’t going to expand indefinitely… Right?”

”I… I think so? A formation should have some limitations, and this one was just created by someone in the Domain Lord Realm. How powerful could it become?”

”But… The one who created this formation was Senior Sister Mui…”

”That…”

”””…”””

And as the formation began getting closer to the edge of the qi spring lake, those observing couldn’t help becoming nervous.

After all, there had already been a few who had tested out this formation out of curiosity and discovered that the formation didn’t hurt anyone and merely acted as an impenetrable wall.

If the formation remained inside the qi spring lake, that would be fine, but if it expanded outside the qi spring lake, this wall created by the formation would inevitably end up pushing away anything that stood in its path… And if it expanded to cover the entire Seventh Star Peak, it would end up pushing everyone and everything placed on the Seventh Star Peak off the mountain.

For this reason, as the formation continued to expand and got closer to the buildings now at the edge of the qi spring lake, everyone began to feel a bit nervous. Especially Elder Song, who understood full well just how catastrophic it would be for the Star Shattering Sect if everything on top of the Seventh Star Peak ended up getting trashed by this formation.

However, as he glanced over towards Xuan Hao who was still calmly observing the situation from the side, he couldn’t help feeling himself calming down again. Understanding that if something truly did end up threatening the sect and its infrastructure on the Seventh Star Peak, he would have been the first to take action to stop the formation from continuing to expand.

In a way, Xuan Hao’s presence and continued decision to not interference with the expanding formation helped Elder Song calm down and focus his attention on the disciples and elders who had gathered around and started panicking. Knowing that Xuan Hao would take care of any problems that might emerge from the formation that had been created by his disciple.

This… This is irrational! How in the world does this formation even work?! How can it grow so powerful by only drawing on the spiritual qi contained in the spiritual water from a single low-grade qi spring!?

Unknown to him, Xuan Hao was far from as calm as he looked on the surface, as his mind was already in a state of chaos observing the formation that kept growing more powerful in front of him without any sign of stopping.

Growing at a completely irrational pace. Having long since surpassed the Soul Ascension Realm along with the Dao Seed Realm shortly after that. Leaping all the way into the Celestial Immortal Realm or Profound Immortal Realm in terms of strength. Reaching a level that would be difficult for even someone in the Early Stage of the Sea Formation Realm to break through.

To reach this level of strength just relying on the spiritual qi contained inside the spiritual water released by a low-grade qi spring? That was irrational to a degree that Xuan Hao felt like his little disciple was working on completely different world rules from him.

The only reassuring thing about the current situation was that he could clearly sense that the formation was about to reach its limits and wouldn’t expand beyond the qi spring lake. Neatly finding itself barely fitting inside the space that had been dug out by Song Jia and filled with spiritual water a short time ago.

The overall strength required to do any damage to the formation having reached the Middle Stage of the Sea Formation Realm. Meaning that there was essentially only one existence outside of himself inside the sect who could do anything to this formation.

But… As the formation stopped expanding, the situation taking place inside became far more complex, as new more unique formation symbols began springing forth from nowhere before dancing around inside the area covered by the formation, their purpose unknown to not just Xuan Hao, but also the large number of curious formation masters who had gathered after hearing about the strange formation at the qi spring lake.

For a short time, it seemed like Mui had managed to draw the attention of the entire sect with her unique formation. Every class, lecture and secluded cultivation session came to an end as everyone rushed over to see what was happening.

If Mui ended up accidentally destroying the qi spring, it was easy to imagine how glorious her reputation would be inside the sect.

At the same time… If she ended up successfully increasing the quality of the spring, she would end up completely erasing her history as a troublemaker in the eyes of those who hadn’t personally suffered due to her creations.

Although it was doubtful that this would last forever, it should at the very least allow her to get approval for some of the improvements that she had wanted to implement throughout the sect.

Thinking about this, Xuan Hao could not help glancing towards Mui, who seemed like she hadn’t realized the importance of what she was doing, as she remained fully focused on the formation, a large smile on her face as she manipulated the formation with a few strange gestures that seemed to have no connection to the formation itself but somehow still ended up influencing the formation.

RUUUUMBLE-!

Soon enough, closing one of her hands into a fist, causing the formation to tremble violently as the large formation began to implode. Shrinking in size rapidly, as the terrifying power that had been building up collapsed in towards the qi spring at the core of the formation, something that seemed to be more related to destroying the qi spring than helping increase its quality…
