Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Unaware of the chaos that had swept through the incident caused by his disciple dubbed the flood of spiritual enlightenment by enthusiastic disciple who had benefited a lot from the large quantity of spiritual water that had suddenly rained down from above and swept them away. Allowing no small number of them to take advantage of the rich spiritual water to breakthrough bottlenecks, solidify their foundations or strengthen their bodies. Xuan Hao found himself back in his cultivation room focused entirely on comprehending the Dao of Formations. Hoping to be able to grasp onto the feeling of breakthrough he had felt after witnessing the strange yet complex formation far beyond his understanding that had been created by his youngest disciple.

This spark of inspiration being the main reason why he had rushed back to enter secluded mediation the instant he realized that Mui’s formation wasn’t going to harm the qi spring. Not wanting to waste a second of that fleeting hint of enlightenment as he directly stopped focusing on absorbing the Stardusk Essence and instead placed his full focus on attempting to break through to the Perfection Realm in the Dao of Formations.

After all, though absorbing the Stardusk Essence would help increase his strength faster, comprehending another Dao to the Perfection Realm would further strengthen his foundation and ensure he could go further in the Sea Formation Realm and ensure that his foundation would be strong enough for a future attempt to surpass the Profound Immortal Realm an step into the Venerable Realm.

If not for that, he would have already broken through to the Land Creation Realm, as a foundation in the Late Stage of the Sea Formation Realm would have been more than enough to give him a good chance at reaching the Star Formation Realm in the future.

The Late Stage of the Sea Formation Realm was the goal of most Profound Immortal Realm cultivators intending to break through to the Land Creation Realm, as it gave hope of reaching the Star Creation Realm in the future and at the same time also made the breakthrough to the Land Creation Realm far safer.

As for the Peak of the Sea Formation Realm? It was far too difficult for someone who hadn’t gone through the Dao Domain Lord Realm to reach the Profound Immortal Realm to reach.

Not only because the lifespan of someone in the Breaking Dawn Realm of the Profound Immortal Realm and someone who had reached the Star Creation Realm of the Profound Immortal Realm was no different and no one wanted to spend all their life trying to breakthrough to the Peak of the Sea Formation Realm only to end up having ones lifespan run out just after succeeding and breaking through to the Early Stage of the Land Creation Realm, but also because one might not even be able to get halfway to the Peak of the Sea Formation Realm before dying.

After all, progress in the Sea Formation Realm was not only dependent on one’s comprehension of the Dao, but also slow accumulation of spiritual qi to grow the spiritual sea inside the dantian, something that took thousands if not tens of thousands of years under normal circumstances, as the spiritual sea only became harder to grow the larger it became.

Expanding the circumference of a spiritual sea with a circumference of 10 kilometers covering an area of a little less than 8 square kilometers took little spiritual qi compared to one with a circumference of 100 kilometers an area a little under 800 square kilometers.

And that did not even consider the increasing depth of the spiritual sea and increasingly restless state of the spiritual sea whenever one would approach the limit of what one’s foundation could handle.

Without the assistance of the Stardusk Essence that helped essentially erase the years he would have had to use to slowly absorb spiritual qi to grow his spiritual sea, he doubted he would be able to reach the Peak of the Sea Formation Realm and break through to the Land Creation Realm without a thousand or two thousand years of accumulation.

The still fast by normal standards cultivation speed being due to the spiritual qi rich environment that he found himself in and the fact that he should be able to have used things like top grade spirit stones in a similar way as to how he was using the Stardusk Essence to speed up the growth of his spiritual sea. Only far slower and more inefficient.

In this deep cultivation, Xuan Hao ultimately ended up finding himself narrowly avoiding being dragged into the mess that his youngest disciple had ended up caused after increasing the quality of the qi spring all the way up to high grade. Not that he would have been able to do much even if he knew about the situation outside, as Elder Song had managed to catch his granddaughter and Mui shortly after the initial turmoil and get his hands on their little shovel and use it to dig large and wider channels for the excess spiritual water produced by the qi spring lake to flow through and off the mountain in the valley below the Seventh Star Peak.

The remaining channels, rivers and lakes that would carry the spiritual water throughout the Shattered Star Peak being far simpler to create, as the valleys and terrain outside of the Star Peaks was simple to dig through.

Because of this, Pei Yang, who saw an opportunity, was the first to descend the Seventh Star Peak after hearing about Elder Song’s plan. Wasting no time as he dug out a river running alongside the main path leading through the Shattered Star Peaks to the Seventh Star Peak where the main section of the sect was located. All the way to the base of the Ninth Star Peak where he eagerly dug out a large lake before going back to create a few temporary bridges over the still empty river in the location where he had to forcibly dig through some already established paths to make this river possible.

By the time that the rest of the elders began descending the Seventh Star Peak to help divert the spiritual water overflowing from the qi spring lake, Pei Yang had already made his way back and was eagerly watching close to half of the excess spiritual water flowing through his newly created river towards the Ninth Star Peak where his Alchemy Hall was located along with the sect’s spiritual herb fields.

To say he was taking advantage of the situation wouldn’t be entirely accurate, as his river did help spread out the spiritual water through large parts of the Shattered Star Peaks, while at the same time making the main path through the Shattered Star Peaks more scenic with a river running next to it.

It was just a coincidence that the spiritual water happened to end up right at the base of the Ninth Star Peak where it could be easily accessed by the alchemist and spiritual herb farmers of the sect… Is what no one present believed after they realized where this already finished river led…

But at the end of the day, it wasn’t something anyone present cared too much about, as the alchemist and spiritual herb farmers were indeed those who would make the best use of the excess spiritual water. The only ones who felt a bit reluctant to see close half of the excess spiritual water ending up at the base of the Ninth Star Peak were the beast taming elders, who also wanted to use excess spiritual water to nurture stronger demon beasts.

Unfortunately, although the beast taming elders had managed to regain some power in the sect with several of the demon beast breaking through to the Nascent Soul Realm and Domain Lord Realm over the past few years due to the good environment inside the Shattered Star Peaks, it was far from the same level as the Alchemy Hall. After all, the beast tamers didn’t have anyone especially powerful to back them up inside the sect that was able to go up against Pei Yang.

Not to mention, Elder Song had also gone along with this arrangement as he clearly saw the benefits. Deciding to not say anything regarding the quick river that had been dug out by Pei Yang. Instead, just instructing the rest of the elders to dig out a few smaller rivers and channels leading to other parts of the Shattered Star Peaks.

Planning to make the overall environment of the Shattered Star Peaks relatively barren landscape, outside of a few valleys that the sect had specifically landscaped and transplanted different kinds of plants and trees into, more life.

Not just because he wanted what he considered the interior of the sect to be better looking outside of the few locations in the Shattered Star Peaks that had been occupied by the sect so far, but also to make exploration for the younger disciples more interesting. Part of him even thinking about potentially scattering a few ruins around for them to explore for fun and also to learn about potentially traps they might end up encountering outside the sect when exploring ancient ruins.
