Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1744: Chapter 1739: Bitter Fruit (33)

As expected, Doctor Dorian did not disappoint. Not only did the dosage of his original treatment plan increase drastically, but he also introduced new medication.

This newcomer, who helped keep the number of people in the church at four, was obviously an unfamiliar face.

Though compared to the others with their unique skills, at first glance, there was nothing particularly special about him.

The face that once appeared resolute due to prominent cheekbones now looked scattered from excessive fear, appearing more fragile than anyone else.

At a glance, he seemed incapable of normal communication.

But it didn’t matter; since the doctor prescribed this way, he must have his reasons.

Plus, much can be gained without necessarily having verbal exchanges.

For instance, his clothing style was noticeably different from the others.

Is he, like me, not a local resident?

The problem is, Doctor Dorian had said he hasn’t had a patient for a long time.

”Hilary!”

While observing with a gentle demeanor, the commotion caused by Fu Qian was anything but gentle.

Within just a single breath, once the people in the church confirmed something really came up from below, their reactions were far more intense than last time.

On the other side of the statue, Brother Felt Hat, who always tried to maintain his posture, yelled out loud and almost jumped up in that instant.

”What are you?”

Although he immediately realized something and clung tighter to the statue.

”Don’t be nervous.”

Fu Qian didn’t mind the impolite question at all.

Reasoning is necessary; compared to last time, the appearance this time was indeed much more horrifying.

Covered in gore, with two identical faces on his left and right arms, it was a sight enough to short-circuit one’s thinking, so such a big reaction was normal.

”You’ll have plenty to be nervous about later.”

Being understanding, Fu Qian even warmly predicted the future for him.

...

”It’s really Hilary! How could there be two? Where’s the woman who went down earlier?”

Fu Qian’s behavior clearly moved people, and Brother Felt Hat almost choked on his words, half his body already hidden behind the statue.

However, after suspiciously scanning the area, he eventually spoke again.

It wasn’t that others weren’t surprised, they just seemed to uniformly have no intention of speaking.

Brother Chuitou was no longer completely indifferent compared to last time.

After his initial examination, the hint of shock on his face quickly turned into a semblance of madness.

Giving off a feeling of ”I knew it,” he once again bowed his head, even more naturally than before.

As for the ”suspected outsider,” though he briefly lifted his head due to Brother Felt Hat’s exclamation, the sight caught in his eyes made him almost instantly curl into a ball.

As for the last person, the elderly lady who always seemed enthusiastic, she was now staring intently over here, her lips moving continuously, but no sound came out.

With a small bottle clasped tightly in her hands, it was evident she wasn’t intending to communicate but was instead performing some kind of silent prayer in response to the excessively sinister scene.

”Schizophrenia.”

Taking in everyone’s reactions in an instant, Fu Qian continued to clarify for Brother Felt Hat.

Although last time the other party once engaged in the rather bad behavior of mockery followed by silence, how could Fu Qian hold a grudge over such a minor offense?

”Nonsense! Splitting into two people?”

Unfortunately, the opponent’s demeanor remained uncultivated this time.

Having confirmed the face among the blood and flesh was indeed someone he could communicate with, his slightly calmer self raised his voice by a few decibels.

”Severe schizophrenia.”

Fu Qian continued to patiently explain.

”You know, as a Holy Person staying behind, being alone for a long time can lead to overthinking, plus the psychological pressure is significant.”

”...Then what about the woman who went down earlier?”

As the saying goes, kind words warm in winter, although appearing non-human, under Fu Qian’s continuous guidance, Brother Felt Hat seemed to perceive the positivity in life, even concerned about Miss Bride once again.

”She’s still down there; you saw that I really have no space left to hang her.”

Politely describing Sara’s current state, Fu Qian even reflected on his responsibility.

”I don’t care why they’re hanging on you... I just want to know what you’re planning bringing them up here?”

Brother Felt Hat was clearly not genuinely concerned about Sara’s fate, but just using it to assess the risk, though still skeptical, he smoothly transitioned to the key question.

”Well——”

This time Fu Qian was being mysterious, pausing for a moment.

And the next moment, a silver handgun appeared in his hand, aimed at the opponent’s head.

”Of course, it’s to help you all experience schizophrenia too. Otherwise, why would I explain so thoroughly?”

”You——”

This sudden change clearly caught Brother Felt Hat by surprise. Unfortunately, he didn’t even have time to say anything more before being interrupted by gunfire.

Fu Qian proved with action that this was not a threat at all, as a dazzling golden flame spewed from the barrel.

And it penetrated the target’s hat and the head beneath it in an instant.

...

It can be understood that Doctor Dorian wanted to delay a little, and even agreed that slow work made fine work, but Fu Qian still considered it necessary to speed things up a bit for him.

The gun was naturally Mercy, and the bullet was a finely crafted product of the Night Watchman; no ordinary head could withstand one shot.

It was even enchanted.

The kind of maddened flame that was obtained by developing Inner Potential with Chief Yuan’s help was attached to the bullet by Fu Qian.

Even someone extraordinary might not endure this abnormal effect.

The effect turned out surprisingly well.

The moment the blood mist flew from the back of the head, Brother Felt Hat instantly ceased all movement.

And the subsequent transformation was even more exaggerated than an ordinary person getting shot.

First, he spasmed violently like a robot malfunctioning, the force so great that white brain matter was flung from the wound.

Then, after a brief intense reaction involving the head, fingers, and toes, every part of his body began to collapse like an avalanche.

Upon hitting the ground, his body instantly shattered into hundreds of pieces.

Brother Felt Hat’s very form of existence seemed to be shattered by that gunshot.

But this didn’t mean he completely lost his Vitality; the hundreds of pieces of flesh, upon hitting the ground, began to writhe and split like worms, reorganizing into streams and rushing toward all the living people present.

”Ah——”

This naturally included Doctor Dorian’s new experimental subjects.

Being the closest, his scream almost instantly filled the air.

And in the ensuing chorus of screams, he was engulfed, making no more noise.
