Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1731: Chapter 1726: Bitter Fruit (20)

Isn’t it so?

Although there is currently no clearly feasible method for purifying such cases of God offspring, it’s still entirely possible to attempt a physical purification involving Sara.

However, Fu Qian was not in a hurry to resort to such a crude method.

From the start of this mission, the strange aspects have only increased along the way.

The enthusiastically hospitable renowned physician to outsiders first demonstrated inhuman means, intending to turn others into his tools.

The Saint, who insists on his faith, has mentally twisted long ago, falling into hopeless self-torment.

And the helpless apostate truly called upon favor from another Superior Being, whose will is nearly shattered, as even the physical body has twisted into some kind of vessel.

Even the Superior Being favoring Sara, with minimal power penetration, was enough to drop his SAN Points at Second Phase, reminding one of the stark gap between Gods and men.

In summary, from current interactions, everyone seems to harbor another side beneath their persona, making the ”Bitter Fruit” I need to seek increasingly elusive.

Could it be referring to a mutation in some native?

This indeed seems like the most straightforward answer.

Specifically regarding Sara at the final stage, there is even a considerable sense of déjà vu.

”Bitter Fruit,” ”child,” truthfully, the meanings cannot be considered unrelated.

Even the Godson is indeed gestating, and I need to prevent the Bitter Fruit from maturing.

From this perspective, what I should do most seems to be confirming the anomaly on Sara, then going full force to purify it into ash.

But here lies an unavoidable issue: why is there an additional requirement in containment to ensure a native survives?

If it were merely someone’s mutation that needs elimination, wouldn’t they just assign a task to wipe everyone clean?

Therefore, in Fu Qian’s hypothesis, even if I ground Sara into ash without a second thought, the mission might still not be accomplished.

Of course, the mission is not completed now either, but it hasn’t failed, has it?

...

Sometimes, the absence of a phenomenon is also a gain.

The current situation almost draws a conclusion—what’s inside Sara is not the Bitter Fruit.

The reason is simple, if it was, this mission would’ve likely ended by now.

Indeed, Sara’s previous act of finger slashing the belly can’t escape suspicion of premature hastening.

Even now, she projects no sense of the ”child,” with nothing of the sublime remaining, reduced to a deformed Creation.

But the cries continue, as with her previous maneuver, the Godson seems to have merged with Akons, and the state is quite stable.

In such conditions, if the ”Godson” cut out earlier were truly the Bitter Fruit, there would approximately be two possibilities.

First, the Godson is doing well, this situation means maturing ahead of time with my assistance, the Bitter Fruit has ”matured,” thus failing the mission.

The second situation, such premature hastening severely damages the Bitter Fruit’s health, leaving it never a chance to be born right, disrupting the ”maturity,” hence mission success.

The containment objective doesn’t necessarily state it must be killed.

So regardless, if it was what I’ve been searching for, success or failure, I ought to already be back in the depot now, instead of listening to its mother sing lullabies here.

Indeed, the Supernatural World is intricate and unpredictable, especially this time the posture of the Superior Being is quite high, one cannot entirely dismiss a small chance scenario where the Godson merged with Akons still wouldn’t linger though not fully developed yet and mature over time.

But even if so, the mission hasn’t failed yet, does it not imply I still have a means to deal with it.

The warehouse has always been quite strict in this regard.

Of course, these remain superficial conclusions, not even the main purpose behind Fu Qian’s previous soft strategy.

After all, if it were merely to test whether it’s the Bitter Fruit, killing outright would yield a similar effect.

The greatest significance of actions now lies in unleashing a Superior force even I found particularly distinct.

And likely making it hold substantial hostility towards me.

The target this time being so elusive, admitting a bit of pressure to draw in a third party, Fu Qian thought wasn’t a bad move.

Disturbing Ms. Sara’s tranquility accelerated her will’s extinction to some extent, leveraging this sacrifice to the maximum without waste.

”Sorry for the bit of heft in my checks just now, but the little one looks quite adorable, let’s tackle the weight issue slowly.”

Amidst the dense scent of blood, the bride in stark red and white contrast was now entirely immersed in the joy of motherhood.

Watching her standing there obliviously, rocking the ”child” in her arms, Fu Qian finally stood up.

Listening to that ragged mouth and nose sung lullaby, Fu Qian also offered the utmost courtesy to a mother, praising her treasure lavishly.

...

”Thank you.”

Truly one of the most popular social courtesies.

Seemingly devoid of much thought activity now, Sara, faced with Fu Qian’s seemingly sincere praise, managed to pull a slight smile at the corners of her mouth.

Even gently soothing the Void in her arms before quietly thanking.

”Have you thought of a name yet?”

Fu Qian stepped closer, craning his head as though there was truly a crying little one, and continued to ask naturally.

”What to call it...”

But Sara didn’t seem like a very industrious mother, faced with the question, she fell into contemplation without having pre-decided.

”Haven’t thought about it yet...”

And after a moment, she finally shook her head, frankly admitting.

”Take your time thinking, perhaps it might even offer its own opinion.”

Showing no surprise, Fu Qian replied with a beaming smile.

”Then I shall leave for now, might drop by for a follow-up visit later.”

And he was true to his word, walking outside as he spoke, showing no intention of eradication.

Although for his last statement, Ms. Sara offered no response, ”holding the child” sitting down, continuing a gentle pat while gazing out the window.

Judging by her demeanor and the resumed singing, Darkness could no longer stir her.

Simultaneously, Fu Qian casually closed the door without intruding.

Though after shutting the door, the ethereal cries did not diminish one bit.

Why does this scene seem so familiar?

Instantly recalling the tree infant under one-to-one surveillance during the last visit to Em House Palace, Fu Qian inwardly quipped but didn’t mind, stepping once again into Akons’ night within this fresh-born grudge.
