Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1706: Chapter 1701: Follow the Doctor’s Orders

”So, does that mean you don’t have to go to work?”

After a brief wait, Cecilia had already come downstairs to open the door.

Following her into the not-so-spacious living room, Fu Qian expressed his envy for the capitalist’s relaxed attitude.

When she mentioned the term modest abode, his first reaction was that this place must have been simply bought outright.

”I’m sorry, but yes, I really don’t have to.”

Faced with Fu Qian’s curious focus, Cecilia earnestly expressed her apology.

”After my first visit, I had a great impression of this place and thought it would be convenient to come again, so I had someone buy a place to stay.”

Looking around, she indeed confirmed the earlier speculation.

She seemed perfectly at ease being alone at midnight, casually locking the door again.

Well, does this count as making a contribution to Lincheng’s real estate?

Confirmed speculation, Fu Qian did not hide the sentiment in his tone.

”So, should Lincheng feel honored?”

”No need, I always have this habit.”

Cecilia shook her head.

...

Whenever visiting a place, she had the habit of casually buying a place to stay?

Indeed, bold and uninhibited, it’s no wonder she has the financial power to own so many collectibles.

Seeing Lady Cecilia speak lightly, as if buying a crepe when hungry, Fu Qian’s first thought was that as a consultant, he should have her reimburse a few more work outfits.

”So this is what you meant by interesting?”

However, he didn’t bother with mundane concerns, leisurely sitting down and gesturing at the item perched on her head.

”Yes, after I got back, I suddenly made a new discovery.”

Cecilia was equally straightforward, directly taking the crown off her head and handing it to him.

”Not sure if it’s useful, but it should have originally been with the Bronze Lady.”

”How are you so sure?”

Casually accepting the crown, Fu Qian held it in his hand and examined it closely.

”Because, if I’m not mistaken, when I was young, this thing was still worn over there.”

Oh?

Fu Qian blinked.

”Then why is it not there anymore?”

”I took it off.”

”...and then wore it like this for fun?”

Despite admiring it, Fu Qian easily put himself in the mindset of a child.

Honestly, even though its design is somewhat traditional, it does look quite nice when worn on the head.

”Yes, I’ve always thought the base was too ugly to match it... I just didn’t dare to do it before.”

Cecilia candidly admitted.

”What made you dare now?”

Fingering the multitude of sparkling stones on the crown, Fu Qian entirely understood her sentiments.

He asked with interest while even placing it on his own head.

”Simple... because from one day onwards, there was nothing I didn’t dare to do—this doesn’t suit you.”

With a peculiar laugh, Cecilia assessed Fu Qian’s new look and commented after a few seconds.

”I thought so too.”

Fu Qian sighed, reached out and took the crown off again.

After all, Cecilia was still wearing a somewhat classical nightgown; T-shirt and shorts truly didn’t go with such a decoration.

Yet, partly from a reflection evaluation, the main reason was unlike the Bronze Lady, wearing it didn’t result in any transformation.

Of course, while regrettable, Fu Qian still trusted Cecilia’s description of its origin.

On one hand, the item itself indeed carried an unusual aura, not a common object.

On the other hand, most importantly, he had seen a similar design.

During a visit to Em House Palace, on the head of the flesh-face helmet sculpture.

That flesh-face helmet indeed had deep ties with the Larea Family.

Growing more curious about whether Chief Yuan might provide him with more intriguing information.

...

”Anyway, initially I liked it very much, but I soon got tired of it, and started leaving it around so much that for a long time I thought I couldn’t find it anymore.”

”Unexpectedly, during this return, after searching several times, I finally managed to find it.”

With her aesthetic validated, Cecilia watched Fu Qian’s hand and shared its origins.

Losing it and couldn’t find it? Is there no cultural heritage awareness?

Though logically sound, Cecilia’s old memories still provoked a torrent of thoughts in Fu Qian’s heart.

The crown might not be exaggeratedly gorgeous, but this child’s toy-like attitude, if known by the Larea Royal Family, they might have certain feelings.

Understanding the causes of these bad acts wasn’t difficult.

”After that certain day, there was nothing I didn’t dare to do”

This statement undoubtedly referred to when the person before him experienced three days of suffering and ended up chopping her own hand off.

Under such revolutionary changes in worldview, breaking self-imposed limitations was entirely normal.

And listening to this account, it seemed after she sent the item back, she immediately began searching for it.

No wonder they say do a good deed without asking about the future, if it weren’t for the last warm reception and even voluntary psychological counseling, such heartfelt reciprocation may never have occurred.

”Thank you, treasure hunting games are also very interesting.”

While organizing his thoughts, Fu Qian didn’t forget to sincerely thank her for the extra effort and even highly praised her design.

”Haha... so did you know why I was just saying I was really looking forward to you lighting up this lamp?”

Seemingly sensing his sincerity, Cecilia smiled even brighter before abruptly posing a question.

...

”Because you thought I might not be able to light it? In fact, I really almost missed seeing the message.”

Fu Qian responded quite naturally, seemingly having long pondered this, even voluntarily confessing his lack of dedication in his recent side-job.

”Speaking of which, if I hadn’t made it here within a certain time frame, what would you have done? Really tossed it in that box?”

The next moment, he curiously asked.

”How could I, with such a precious item!”

Cecilia instantly refuted.

Too precious to lose, eh?

Unfortunately, the excessively grandiose acting only spurred another round of thoughts in Fu Qian’s heart.

”Then the box would still contain that switch, and I’d tell you this little house is the gift.”

And before finishing, Cecilia gestured around, adding a statement.

Oh?

Though it seemed unremarkable, this place was indeed quite valuable, Fu Qian clicked his tongue in amazement.

”What about now?”

”Well, now you’ve already made the choice.”

Unsurprisingly, Lady Cecilia smiled slyly as if her cunning plan had succeeded.

Even though Fu Qian knew well, the sly plan was not this seemingly evil-humor-filled choice.

Being a psychologist is truly a dangerous profession, not merely spoken.

To be a secretive wall-gazer, practicing advice on himself, this patient seemed to be using him to practice such counsel.
