Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 132: The Psychological Society, Fluoxetine

Normally, it would be impossible for Lin Yu to get Fu Luoʼs help in investigating the ʼPsychological Societyʼ.

But since the identity of ʼMay Mayʼ was now considered a ”trustworthy” partner in Fu Luoʼs eyes...

Lin Yu obtained the information he wanted from Fu Luo two days later.

The data on the ʼPsychological Societyʼ wasnʼt actually hard to find. These people didnʼt seem to operate discreetly or make particular efforts to conceal themselves.

Within ʼJiangʼan Hallʼ, Lin Yu could already find basic introductions about the ʼPsychological Societyʼs situation.

The organizationʼs structure matched its name—it resembled an ”academic society”.

Like some university-affiliated scholarly group.

Its highest leadership consisted of a five-member ”Council”, with three subordinate divisions: the ”Professional Committee”, ”Regional Branches”, and ”Execution Department”.

Members of the ”Professional Committee” were restricted to those with the professions 『Doctor』, 『Nurse』, 『Scholar』, and 『Student』. Most members had real-world experience or academic backgrounds in psychology.

The ”Regional Branches” comprised local members without profession restrictions, most of whom seemed to conduct surveillance operations for the ʼPsychological Societyʼ.
As for the ”Execution Department”... it functioned similarly to squads in the Order, primarily handling operations and combat.

Currently, three known high-ranking representatives in the ʼPsychological Societyʼs Council had codenames:

『Jung』, 『Lacan』, and 『Wundt』.

This portion of Jiangʼan Hallʼs records came from the Tycoon himself—six months ago, he had a direct encounter with 『Lacan』 in a dungeon.

The other party didnʼt conceal his identity, openly announcing his codename.

That dungeon had twenty participants, making it exceptionally large-scale.

Moreover, those capable of participating alongside the Tycoon and Lacan were far from novices or rookies.

Yet in the end...

Only the Tycoon and Lacan survived.

The Tycoon provided an assessment of Lacanʼs strength:

”Absolutely ranked within the top thirty on the leaderboard.”

He didnʼt elaborate in detail about what happened inside the dungeon.

But he clearly stated that Lacan had deliberately—without necessity—directly and indirectly caused the deaths of every other player in what should have been a cooperative 『Slaughter』-type dungeon.

The motive was...

”Screening and Cultivation.”

This was also the ʼPsychological Societyʼs creed.

Just as they had killed Lin Yu—these lunaticsʼ goal seemed to be using near-coercive methods to produce more powerful players.

In reality, they collected data through their ”Regional Branches” and delivered it to the ”Professional Committee”. The Committee used certain ”assessment methods” to screen individuals with ”potential”.

The ʼPsychological Societyʼ would then send invitations to those who had already become players—regardless of whether they belonged to other organizations.

As for those who werenʼt players yet...

The ʼPsychological Societyʼ would dispatch members to kill them. Only after confirming their entry into the 『Death Game』 would they extend an invitation.

Such insane methods were enough to make many players seethe with hatred.

Within the game, inside dungeons...

Members of this organization were universally despised!

Because there was a high probability they would intentionally increase other playersʼ difficulty.

In 『Competition』 dungeons, they attacked both allies and enemies alike... In normal dungeons, they would outright assist monsters or game rules in killing players.

Typically before a dungeon concluded, they would reveal their identities—and invite outstanding 『Players』 from that session to join their organization.

But...

Whether the invitees joined or not, these people didnʼt seem to care.

Of course, there was also a very, very small chance that ʼPsychological Societyʼ members might help other players.

But the conditions were extremely stringent—apparently only when they believed a ”high-potential” player encountered challenges or predicaments far beyond their current capabilities that would stifle their growth would they stand on the playerʼs side.

Thus, what most players least wanted to encounter in dungeons...

Was neither the 『Marauders』 nor members of the 『Free Alliance』, but people from the 『Psychological Society』.

Most 『Marauders』 members only coveted your items and employed ruthless methods—in cooperative dungeons, as long as you didnʼt flaunt wealth or obstruct them, surface-level peace could be maintained.

The 『Free Alliance』 had few members, and currently known members were eccentric—though they might inexplicably target you sometimes, the odds were fifty-fifty.

Only the 『Psychological Society』—if encountered in a dungeon, there was a 99% chance they were there to harm others.

Apart from the Tycoonʼs personal experience, the above information was compiled from the blood and tears of numerous ʼPsychological Societyʼ victims. It wasnʼt just publicly known within 『Jiangʼan Hall』—most righteous organizations were also aware.

In fact, many ʼPsychological Societyʼ members, though their codenames were unknown, had their basic information recorded in files.

Yet Lin Yu still chose to have Fu Luo investigate...

Naturally because what he sought wasnʼt among the known information.

Lin Yu combed through all relevant documents but found no records of that beautiful girl who claimed to be his junior.

Fortunately, Fu Luoʼs reputation as the 『Detective』 was well-deserved.

What Lin Yu provided him were only a sketch based on memory and vague keywords like ”young”, ”female”, and ”uses a Beretta M9”.

”I donʼt know why youʼre investigating this, but buddy, sheʼs really dangerous.”

”Sheʼs more dangerous than your average ʼPsychological Societyʼ member!”

”If it werenʼt for your request, Iʼd never look into this—youʼre just a fucking First-Tier, I suggest not provoking monsters of this caliber.”

Ignoring Fu Luoʼs stream of warnings, Lin Yu sighed and opened the encrypted file sent to him.

”I didnʼt provoke her... she came after me...”

After decryption, a brief document appeared before Lin Yu:

”Codenamed 『Fluoxetine』, Profession 『Assassin』, ʼPsychological Societyʼ Execution Department S-Class Specialist.”

Execution Department S-Class Specialist...

Lin Yu instantly understood why her information was so hard to find and why Fu Luo was so nervous.

This truly wasnʼt data ordinary players should access.

Members of the ʼPsychological Societyʼ at this level could be considered equivalents to the Orderʼs ”Regional Administrators”—they didnʼt participate in organizational decisions, but...

They were extremely mysterious and exceptionally formidable.

Currently, the ʼPsychological Societyʼ might only have three S-Class Specialists—even fewer than their highest Council members.

The attached photo of the hooded girl seemed extracted from some surveillance footage, extremely blurry.

But that beautiful, sharply-defined, delicate yet cold face...

Lin Yu would recognize it even through the fuzziness.

”So thatʼs it... your name is 『Fluoxetine』...”

Lin Yu murmured.

Now he knew her codename, profession, and rank.

Though this was all he had, for Lin Yu, it was enough.

Next—

He would personally verify these details and uncover more about this girl.

”I hope youʼre strong enough.”

”Otherwise... the next performance prepared for you will be terribly boring.”
