Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 108: Lin Yu’s Plan and the Fanatical Detective

After leaving Li Nian’s villa and walking quite a distance, Lin Yu finally reverted from the frail ”Zhu Ming” back to his normal appearance.

Just as he had anticipated, judging by the consistent style of the Free Alliance and Li Nian’s attitude…

If someone could find a member of this organization in reality and express a desire to join,

then the Free Alliance would not refuse!

However, there would still be an assessment.

Lin Yu did not yet know what the assessment entailed.

All he had was a note with Li Nian’s contact information—originally, Li Nian wanted to add him on a messaging app.

But Lin Yu declined, claiming he did not have a phone.

The reason was reasonable.

“I’m currently being watched by the Psychological Society. If I carry a phone and get caught, I’m afraid some of my personal information will be exposed.”
So Li Nian wrote down her phone number on a slip of paper and handed it to Lin Yu.

“Call me when you get home, or add me… in any case, just let me be able to contact you.”

Therefore…

After leaving Li Nian’s house, Lin Yu began to formulate his next plan.

His current plan was to join as many known organizations as possible.

Including the Free Alliance, the Marauders, and the Psychological Society!

The existence of the False Face class item gave Lin Yu the possibility of maintaining multiple false identities in reality.

However, from what he could see now…

“Besides the False Face, I’ll need several phones and secure phone numbers.”

“Also… it would be best to register multiple forum accounts.”

The former was somewhat troublesome, as anonymous phone cards were no longer easy to obtain, but there were ways.

After all, money could move mountains.

The latter, however, was very troublesome.

According to posts on the forum…

The operators behind the forum seemed to have some incredibly magical method to ensure that each person could only have one account.

Moreover, once someone joined an organization that had been purged, the forum operators would also ensure they could never access the forum again.

No one knew exactly how this “forum” organization accomplished this, but so far…

No one had ever doubted it.

Lin Yu still remembered the highly uniform evaluations.

“If it weren’t for the fact that all the veteran players knew this was established by ‘players,’ I’d even suspect this was the official Death Game forum!”

“I seriously suspect a god manages this forum!”

Therefore, Lin Yu did not hold much hope of obtaining multiple forum accounts.

However…

Lin Yu was not entirely without ideas.

“The first step with the Free Alliance is done. I’ll have to wait until tomorrow night to see what arrangements the Tycoon at Jiang’an Hall has…”

“The next organization to try is the Marauders.”

Lin Yu had already chosen his target in his mind.

And to join the Marauders… the joining criteria were even public.

Although Marauder members could not access the forum, forum members all knew the simplest joining condition of this organization.

That was…

To kill a player in reality.

Then, find a Marauder member and have them recommend you for joining.

This was why the Marauders’ organization name alone sent chills down peopleʼs spines.

In reality, players did not have mortal grudges against each other!

Those who could actually kill other players in reality were likely ruthless villains motivated solely by profit!

This condition was indeed not difficult for Lin Yu, who was First-Tier.

And the fact that other players dreaded being hunted by the Order could be mitigated by Lin Yu fabricating false identities.

In theory, the Marauders were even the organization most suited to Lin Yu.

But…

Lin Yu did not want to join the Marauders in such a simple way.

He had a nearly crazy plan in his mind—Lin Yu often came up with such wild plans.

“If the Jiang’an Hall mission isn’t too difficult, maybe…”

“I can take a trip to Henan Province.”

Lin Yu murmured.

…

Henan Province, Zheng City.

A young man who looked like an ethnic minority or a mixed-race person was crouched in the corner of an internet cafe in front of a computer, wearing a baseball cap low over his head.

He was holding a bowl of sauerkraut beef noodles with two sausages and had a large bottle of nutritional drink beside him, focusing intently on the screen.

The yawning internet cafe manager walked over and asked, “Old Fu, pulling an all-nighter again today? Got big work?”

The young man called “Old Fu” was actually named Fu Luo. He shook his head when he heard the manager’s voice.

Fu Luo took a pack of Yunyan cigarettes from his pocket, opened it, and took out a mint-flavored cigarette candy which he put in his mouth.

“No big work, just investigating someone.”

At this moment, seven or eight open webpage windows were on the computer screen.

The manager was curious: “Investigating someone? An affair or a deadbeat?”

He knew that Fu Luo was a famous private detective in Henan Province.

Although the extremely low criminal rate in China meant most private detectives only caught affairs or deadbeats…

there was no doubt Fu Luo was the top in this barren industry.

He still maintained a 100% case-solving rate.

And these cases, for the Chinese people who loved gossip and excitement, were precious topics for after-meal conversations.

Therefore, the manager naturally liked chatting and asking Fu Luo questions.

But Fu Luo’s answer disappointed him once again.

“Sorry, I’m just looking for someone… someone I met in the game.”

Fu Luo said, and the manager’s interest instantly waned.

“Ah, I see… then I’m off to sleep.”

“Get your own water from the fridge, and call me if anything happens.”

The manager said as he walked toward the bar.

Fu Luo nodded coldly, then returned his gaze to the screen.

On the screen were graduation photos of nearly three recent graduating classes from all high schools in Jiangcheng, along with the compiled admission lists.

Fu Luo had already filtered out all students admitted to medical universities or medical programs in comprehensive universities and found their corresponding classes…

But unfortunately,

None matched.

“Damn it, May, you really lied to me!”

“I trusted you so much… but you’re not a medical student at all!”

Fu Luo, also known as Furbollo, painfully scratched his head.

“Damn it, damn it—I just wanted to find a reliable and smart teammate, is that so hard?”

“The one with the forum ID ‘May’… judging by the posting records, their profession is actually ‘Assassin.’”

“And they’re even a member of the Order. That’s ridiculous.”

After complaining for a bit, Fu Luo’s expression hardened.

“No, I’m going to find out your true identity today!”

He took off the baseball cap from his head and replaced it with a straw hat.

“May, I really want to see what your real identity is all about!”
