Chapter 121: An Opportunity to Join Order

”Brother Shan, let me tell you, this friend of mine is strong, loyal, and smart!”

”Without him in the last dungeon, I definitely wouldnʼt have gotten those extra rewards.”

”This time too, though I was the one dragging him down—otherwise we couldʼve totally taken down that bastard Heavenly Artisan!”

”He single-handedly beat Heavenly Artisan until he fled covered in wounds!”

”I got brain hemorrhage from Heavenly Artisanʼs attack earlier, but thankfully my good buddy May gave up chasing him to heal me. Thatʼs the only reason Iʼm alive.”

”His moral compass is rock solid, just like you guys from Order!”

”In the last dungeon, there were some wrongfully killed NPCs he couldnʼt help but get involved with!”

Fu Luo seemed worried that Order might think Lin Yu had alerted Heavenly Artisan and scared him off, so he kept showering Lin Yu with praise during the introduction.

The policeman called ”Brother Shan” kept nodding approvingly, his gaze toward Lin Yu full of goodwill.

After introducing Lin Yu to the Order policeman...
Fu Luo then introduced the policeman to Lin Yu.

Through Fu Luoʼs introduction, Lin Yu gained a basic understanding of this policeman.

This policeman nicknamed ”Brother Shan” had the forum ID ”High Mountain.”

Not only was High Mountain from Order, he was also the squad leader of Orderʼs Zheng City First Team.

Orderʼs organizational structure was quite simple—they had members in various cities, with each city having its own ”XX (City Name) Main Team” and numbered sub-teams beneath it.

Each sub-team had a full complement of five members, though some might only have two or three.

As Orderʼs squad leader, High Mountain possessed considerable strength.

His profession matched his uniform—he was a Policeman.

The Policemanʼs ability allowed him to select one player or NPC and significantly reduce their capabilities.

This made it an exceptionally strong profession for one-on-one combat, fitting perfectly with Orderʼs organizational style.

As Orderʼs squad leader, High Mountain had undoubtedly completed his Promotion.

So Lin Yu couldnʼt help but wonder...

Which advancement path had High Mountain chosen for the Policeman profession?

[Handcuffs] or [Siren]?

With Fu Luoʼs endorsement, High Mountain already had a favorable impression of Lin Yu.

”Doctor, from what Fu Luo says, you not only held your own against Heavenly Artisan but even forced him to flee in defeat, huh?”

”Thatʼs truly impressive—Heavenly Artisan is no pushover.”

High Mountain praised Lin Yu several times.

”You flatter me, Brother Shan,” Lin Yu shook his head. ”I had to use every trick up my sleeve just to barely win... and his strength didnʼt seem quite right either.”

”Iʼd investigated Heavenly Artisan through some channels earlier—for some reason, he seems to be missing one of his hammers.”

Lin Yu said modestly.

Heʼd personally seen Li Nian admit to stealing Heavenly Artisanʼs hammer.

After getting the phone and checking Heavenly Artisanʼs chat records, heʼd confirmed the missing hammer was the [Bone Crusher] used for attacking.

Moreover, Heavenly Artisan had asked several Marauders who had connections with the Free Alliance to help retrieve his [Bone Crusher].

After Lin Yu finished speaking, High Mountain nodded in surprise.

”There were rumors he got one of his hammers stolen by the Master Thief...”

”But even missing a hammer, forcing him to retreat is still remarkable!”

High Mountain said approvingly.

Lin Yu continued being modest: ”Not at all, I just prepared thoroughly.”

However...

From their attitudes, Lin Yu could discern one thing.

”Right now... I really am quite strong.”

Though heʼd just completed his Promotion, Lin Yu was certain he ranked among the stronger front-line combatants even among First-Tier players.

After all, when used properly, he could essentially wield the abilities of two professions simultaneously.

The existence of [Counterfeit] greatly raised his potential ceiling.

Heavenly Artisan had an 8,000 bounty and was highly regarded by both Order and the Marauders—even Li Nian showed considerable interest in him.

Lin Yu could easily deduce the guy was a formidable player.

At the very least, among those with similar dungeon experience and First-Tier status, his strength was notable.

High Mountainʼs attitude further confirmed this.

”Nonsense, May... no amount of preparation would let just anyone defeat him one-on-one. That alone proves your strength.”

High Mountainʼs attitude toward Lin Yu wasnʼt just friendly—it bordered on enthusiastic.

”Speaking of which, your forum ID isnʼt just ʼMay,ʼ right? Because we in Order also have a May—a squad leader in Haicheng...”

High Mountainʼs words carried a hint of trying to establish connections.

Lin Yu smiled and nodded: ”Yes, Brother Shan, my ID is ʼMay May.ʼ”

This was indeed the forum ID heʼd actually registered.

He cheerfully produced a business card with a QR code from his pocket.

”I donʼt know if youʼve joined any organization yet, but if not... you might consider Order.”

”Though thereʼs still an evaluation process, I can provide a recommendation to help you skip one round of background checks.”

High Mountain said seriously.

Lin Yu put on an honored expression as he accepted the card.

This had been within his expectations, but it went even smoother than anticipated!

Securing an opportunity to join Order was naturally part of Lin Yuʼs current ”performance.”

Assuming Mayʼs identity to kill Heavenly Artisan wasnʼt just about stealing Heavenly Artisanʼs identity to join the Marauders.

He also wanted...

To gain an opportunity to join Order.

By winning Fu Luoʼs trust and using him to influence Orderʼs judgment, combined with his demonstrated ability to match Heavenly Artisan...

Lin Yu hadnʼt expected immediate entry into Order, but any advantage would help.

After pocketing the card, High Mountain also looked thoroughly satisfied.

Order truly needed capable people with such strong moral character!

”Which city are you from? When you reach the local evaluation phase, let me know.”

”I can give you some pointers then.”

Hearing High Mountainʼs words, Lin Yu smiled and replied:

”Iʼm from Jiangcheng—I came to Zheng City specifically to find Heavenly Artisan.”

”I deeply appreciate your kindness—skipping one background check is already more than I deserve... If I do join Order, Iʼd prefer to pass the remaining evaluations on my own merit!”

”Order is the most just and reliable organization in all playersʼ hearts—I wouldnʼt want to cut corners in the joining process.”

Lin Yu said solemnly.

High Mountain seemed profoundly moved by Lin Yuʼs words.

He patted Lin Yuʼs shoulder.

”Good! Youʼre exactly the kind of person Order needs!”

”Have you considered relocating to our Zheng City?”

High Mountainʼs eyes clearly burned with the fervor of someone spotting talent.

Lin Yu politely declined.

”Thank you for the invitation, but I have family in Jiangcheng.”

High Mountain nodded: ”Understood. If you ever need anything, just contact me through the forum.”

”If we locate Heavenly Artisan later, weʼll assign you deserved points based on his injuries and reduced combat capability!”
