We Agreed On Experiencing Life, So Why Did You Immortals Become Real?

Chapter 306: He Is in the Xiao Manor, the Son Born to Fifth Madam Zhou Ruoxi, Named Xiao Mo

After returning home, Xiao Mo told his mother about Instructor Huang wanting to take him as a disciple.

After hearing this, Zhou Ruoxiʼs expression showed some surprise.

Regarding this Instructor Huang, Zhou Ruoxi truly knew nothing at first but after her child practiced martial arts under him, Zhou Ruoxi worried about the child, so wanting to understand this instructorʼs temperament, she would often go inquire.

As a result, no one knew the background of this ordinary instructor, which was quite abnormal.

Especially given Instructor Huangʼs attitude when facing the First Madam today, Zhou Ruoxi was certain this Instructor Huang was indeed different from ordinary people.

At the very least, he had some real ability.

He even dared to call the Prince directly by name.

So, after careful consideration, Zhou Ruoxi felt that having Moʼer take him as master was not a bad thing.

If he learned some skills, in the future he would at least have a craft.

Even if the Xiao Manorʼs protection was lost, in the future Moʼer could be an instructor or manor guard and still make a living.
”Moʼer, if you want to take Instructor Huang as your master, Mother has no objections.” Zhou Ruoxi said to her child, agreeing to Moʼerʼs apprenticeship. ”Moʼer, what do you think of Instructor Huang?”

”Moʼer wants to take him as master!” Xiao Mo said.

”Good.” Zhou Ruoxi nodded and smiled, ”Since thatʼs the case, tomorrow weʼll go visit Instructor Huang.”

”Okay, Mother.”

Early the next morning, Zhou Ruoxi brought her child out of the manor. Following the address Instructor Huang had given Xiao Mo, they headed to a small courtyard in the eastern part of the city.

Before the visit, Zhou Ruoxi took out most of her saved allowance money to buy quite a few apprenticeship gifts for Instructor Huang as a token of sincerity.

As soon as Zhou Ruoxi knocked on the door, Instructor Huang opened it.

”Youʼve come. Come in.”

Instructor Huang had no superfluous words and directly invited them inside.

”Instructor Huang, this is a small token from us. Please donʼt look down on it.” Zhou Ruoxi signaled to Cuicui beside her. Cuicui immediately carried the gifts forward.

”No need. This old one accepts disciples purely on sincerity. Take these things back directly.” Huang Shan didnʼt accept any of Zhou Ruoxiʼs apprenticeship gifts, his tone extremely straightforward.

Seeing Instructor Huangʼs manner, Zhou Ruoxi no longer insisted, lest she displease him.

”Alright, enough nonsense.” Instructor Huang looked at Xiao Mo, ”Kid, perform the apprenticeship ceremony.”

”Yes, Master!”

Xiao Mo earnestly nodded.

In the courtyard, Huang Shan sat in a chair. Xiao Mo knelt down and kowtowed three times to Huang Shan, then presented tea.

After Huang Shan drank the tea with satisfaction, he brought Xiao Mo into the room to pay respects together to the portrait of the founding master.

After this set of ceremonies concluded, from this day forth, Xiao Mo was Huang Shanʼs true disciple.

Watching her child act like a little adult, Zhou Ruoxi standing to the side felt somewhat moved in her heart.

It seemed her child would walk very far in the future, and she could only watch quietly from behind the child, unable to keep up anymore...

”From now on, I am your master. Kid, let me hear you call me Master.” Huang Shan said with a smile.

”Master!” Xiao Mo called out crisply in his childish voice.

”Hahahaha! Good! Good! Good!” Huang Shan said ”good” three times in succession.

One could see he truly liked this disciple he had taken.

”Master, am I your only disciple? Do I have other senior brothers or sisters?” Xiao Mo asked curiously.

”You are Masterʼs only disciple.” Huang Shan nodded, ”In our lineage, although there are no restrictions, generally one only takes one disciple in a lifetime. Of course, if you die, kid, thatʼs another story. Then this old one would take a second.”

”Then Master, what if we all die?” Xiao Mo asked again.

”If we all die, the spear technique will still remain. The original text of our lineageʼs spear technique has always been kept in the ancestral grounds. Sooner or later, someone with fate will find it.

So if we die, we die.

Itʼs just that in the world, perhaps for hundreds or thousands of years, our lineageʼs spear technique wonʼt be seen.”

Huang Shan glanced at this kid and raised his hand to knock him on the head.

”Speaking of which, why donʼt you think about good things, kid? Isnʼt it good to stay alive? Why talk about dying?”

Xiao Mo rubbed his head, ”Disciple is worried about our sectʼs inheritance.”

”Get lost, get lost, get lost. Rather than worrying about that, youʼd be better off cultivating more.” Huang Shan waved his hand, ”Go back. Rest well today. Tomorrow come to the training ground on time.”

”Yes, Master!” Xiao Mo cupped his fists in courtesy.

”Iʼm entrusting my Moʼer to Instructor Huang.” Zhou Ruoxi stepped forward and bowed.

”Madam, rest assured.” Instructor Huang said heartily, ”This kid taking me as master is the luckiest thing in the world!”

Hearing Instructor Huangʼs self-praise, Zhou Ruoxi only smiled faintly.

Cuicui on the side rolled her eyes. She always felt this Instructor Huang was just an ordinary martial artist. Had her madam been deceived?

Zhou Ruoxi brought Xiao Mo back to the Xiao Manor.

The next day, Xiao Mo went to the training ground to practice martial arts as usual.

After becoming Master Huangʼs disciple, Xiao Mo indeed felt his master was more devoted to him, but what he learned didnʼt seem much different. Everything was still focused on basic skills.

The biggest benefit was that Xiao Moʼs daily meals were unique, much better than the other training ground disciplesʼ, and he could eat as much as he wanted. However, Xiao Yang and the others had no complaints. After all, this was their big brother. Big Brother was so impressive, so what if he ate well?

Besides this, every so often, Huang Shan would also give Xiao Mo a package of medicinal herbs for medicinal baths to temper his body.

Each time Xiao Mo tempered his body, he felt as if his bones were being ground to pieces. It was very painful but after each medicinal bath ended, Xiao Mo could clearly feel his physique becoming even stronger.

Before he knew it, a year had passed.

Xiao Mo was already four and a half years old.

During this year, the gap between Xiao Mo and the other children grew wider and wider. They were completely on different levels and on this day, Huang Shan began teaching Xiao Mo individually.

Huang Shan teaching Xiao Mo didnʼt avoid others. If the other little radishes could learn, that was their ability.

”Starting today, Xiao Mo, you will begin learning fist techniques.”

While the other little radishes were still practicing basic skills, Huang Shan pulled Xiao Mo to an empty space nearby and said to him.

”Master told you before, fist techniques are like spear techniques. Practice the fist before practicing the spear. The spear is merely a further extension of fist techniques. The fist technique Master will teach you is called the Heaven-Opening Fist! The Heaven-Opening Fist has seven forms in total! Master will demonstrate it once for you. Watch carefully!”

When Huang Shan assumed the fist stance, Xiao Mo only felt the surrounding air suddenly become heavy.

The thick fist pressure pressed on him like a mountain. Xiao Mo even felt his breathing become somewhat difficult.

When Huang Shan threw punches, each sound was like thunder, crackling and popping, as if a divine being was beating a drum!

Xiao Mo thought to himself that it was only because Master had completely sealed off his spiritual power.

Otherwise, perhaps the entire Qin Kingdom capital could hear the thunder.

Some of the other little radishes watching Instructor Huang practice fist techniques couldnʼt help but stare in amazement, only thinking it looked very good and very impressive but Xiao Mo saw a different scene.

Even though Xiao Mo had never practiced fist techniques, he could vaguely sense that this Heaven-Opening Fist could connect to the great Dao!

And this was merely the prerequisite for learning spear techniques in the future!

”Just who is this master of mine? And what kind of spear technique will I learn in the future?”

Xiao Mo couldnʼt help but wonder, but since Master didnʼt speak of it, he wouldnʼt ask.

After finishing the fist technique once, Huang Shan straightened his body.

Some of the other little radishes wanted to imitate Instructor Huang practicing the fist, but they discovered that although they had just watched, they had forgotten everything...

Instructor Huang looked at Xiao Mo and asked, ”After watching once, how much do you remember?”

”Eighty percent?” Xiao Mo said.

”Eighty percent?” Huang Shan smiled, thinking Xiao Mo was boasting. ”Demonstrate the fist technique once for Master to see.”

”Oh.” Relying on the impression from just now, Xiao Mo performed the Heaven-Opening Fist once.

Watching the moves Xiao Mo executed, Huang Shan was completely stunned.

Although Xiao Mo currently only had the fist form, the form of this Heaven-Opening Fist involved the great Dao. Whether one could remember it depended entirely on talent.

Back when Master demonstrated it to him, he had only remembered half yet this kid!

Had truly remembered eighty percent?

”Master, is this how it goes?” After finishing the demonstration, Xiao Mo stood up and said.

Having only practiced the fist form once, Xiao Mo was already covered in sweat, panting heavily.

”Passable, but not as good as your master.” Huang Shan said with his hands behind his back.

”Then Master, how much did you remember originally?” Xiao Mo asked curiously, wanting to know the gap between himself and his master.

”Cough, cough, cough.” Huang Shan coughed a few times, ”Letʼs not talk about that. Saying it might discourage you.”

With those words, Huang Shan tossed Xiao Mo a book.

”This is the manual for the Heaven-Opening Fist. Inside are the fist formulas. After you return, study them well. If you canʼt read the characters, have your mother teach you. Then try to integrate them into the fist moves yourself. If you donʼt understand, come ask me. Master has recently moved to the Broken Stone Courtyard in the Xiao Manor.”

”Yes, Master!”

Taking the fist manual, Xiao Mo thought to himself he really needed to work hard.

After returning home, although Xiao Mo could read the characters, he had never studied before, so he could only pretend not to understand and have his mother teach him.

Taking this opportunity, Zhou Ruoxi also began teaching her child to read and write.

Only by studying could one understand principles. In the future when encountering matters, one wouldnʼt be so lost.

Thus, Xiao Mo practiced martial arts during the day, and after returning home, whenever there was free time, Zhou Ruoxi would teach the child to study Confucian classics.

Zhou Ruoxi discovered her child learned very quickly and had a photographic memory.

Regarding her childʼs talent, as his mother, Zhou Ruoxi naturally felt very happy in her heart, but she didnʼt show it.

On the contrary, she constantly emphasized to Xiao Mo not to be arrogant.

No matter what achievements he made in the future, he must maintain a studentʼs heart and know there are always people beyond people and heavens beyond heavens.

Xiao Mo naturally took his motherʼs teachings to heart.

Every day, Xiao Mo earnestly practiced martial arts and studied. Comparing with the moves in the fist manual, he began correcting his fist forms.

When encountering parts he didnʼt understand, Xiao Mo would go directly to the Broken Stone Courtyard to find his master.

The master and disciple sometimes practiced together all night.

Another year passed, and Xiao Mo was already five and a half years old.

On this evening, Xiao Mo was alone in the courtyard practicing the Heaven-Opening Fist.

As he practiced, Xiao Mo gradually forgot himself and entered a state of enlightenment.

In the courtyard, Zhou Ruoxi watched her Moʼer execute the flowing fist technique and was momentarily stunned.

”Madam? Young Master, he...” Cuicui looked at Xiao Mo worriedly.

Zhou Ruoxi gently pinched her hands, saying nervously, ”Moʼer, he should be about to take that step...”

Xiao Moʼs fist technique became faster and faster until finally, there was even the sound of thunder.

”Boom!”

With Xiao Moʼs final punch, the water vat three zhang away from him was shattered to powder by his fist force!

Xiao Mo withdrew his fist momentum and felt the spiritual power flowing in his body. His heart was overjoyed.

He had actually stepped onto the cultivation path, and in one go, from an ordinary person, cultivated to the sixth level of Qi Refinement!

In the Broken Stone Courtyard, Huang Shan watching in Xiao Moʼs direction smiled with satisfaction and nodded, ”This kid is indeed good. After he reaches Foundation Building, I can teach him spear techniques.”

Before he knew it, another two and a half years had passed.

Xiao Mo reached eight years old.

At this time, Xiao Mo was only one step away from Foundation Building.

Actually, if Xiao Mo wanted to reach Foundation Building, he could already attempt to break through but Huang Shan had Xiao Mo continue suppressing his realm and continue tempering.

Xiao Mo knew this was his master having him build his foundation, so he complied.

When Xiao Mo had already reached Qi Refinement perfection, the other little squirts at the training ground, the highest in realm was at the third level of Qi Refinement, and the lowest had also entered the second level of Qi Refinement.

Actually, the talent of the Xiao family children of Xiao Moʼs generation was truly not bad. They could step onto the cultivation path at such a young age.

It was just that compared to Xiao Mo, they truly couldnʼt measure up.

In the second month after Xiao Mo turned eight, a eunuch came from the Qin Kingdom palace. He walked into the Xiao Manor and headed to the Broken Stone Courtyard.

”This one pays respects to Senior Huang.”

Eunuch Li, the personal eunuch of the Qin Kingdomʼs ruler, bowed to Huang Shan in courtesy.

Huang Shan, who had been sitting in the courtyard with his eyes closed in meditation, slowly opened his eyes. Looking at the eunuch before him, he said slowly, ”I wonder what matter brings Eunuch Li here?”

”In response to Senior Huang, the Qin Kingdomʼs Grand Hunt is about to begin. His Majesty wishes to ask if Senior Huang has time and would like to invite Senior Huang to participate together.” Eunuch Li said most respectfully.

”The Grand Hunt, ah.” Huang Shan thought for a moment, ”This old one is not interested and wonʼt go.”

”...” Eunuch Liʼs face showed embarrassment. He wanted to try persuading again but Huang Shan spoke first, ”However, Iʼve heard that in your Qin Kingdom, each time at the Grand Hunt, the princes and princesses all participate and need guards, correct?”

”Uh, yes.” Eunuch Li nodded.

”Iʼve taken a disciple. Let him participate. No need to give this old one face. Just let him be a guard.” Huang Shan looked at Eunuch Li and said indifferently, ”Will that work?”

”Naturally it will!” Eunuch Li quickly nodded, ”Itʼs just, I wonder where Senior Huangʼs disciple is? This old servant will go invite him immediately.”

”He is in the Xiao Manor, the son born to Fifth Madam Zhou Ruoxi, named Xiao Mo.”
