We Agreed On Experiencing Life, So Why Did You Immortals Become Real?

Chapter 305: Become My Disciple! Take Me as Your Master!

Early the next morning, Xiao Mo arrived at the training ground.

Everyone looked at Xiao Mo nervously.

Especially Xiao Yang, who had taken the lead in causing trouble yesterday.

When he saw Xiao Mo, his whole person shrank back timidly. He didnʼt dare say a word and stood far away from Xiao Mo.

The other little squirts who had been beaten up by Xiao Mo were similar.

They worried that if they disagreed with Xiao Mo in any way, he would beat them up again. However, Xiao Mo didnʼt take them to heart.

In Xiao Moʼs eyes, yesterday was just about teaching these little brats a lesson.

Otherwise, he wouldnʼt have peace in the future.

After all, some children would only behave after being beaten once. Reasoning with them wouldnʼt work.

As usual, Instructor Huang soon arrived at the training ground and began the dayʼs training.
The noon meal was stir-fried dragon pig meat with peppers, spirit spring blanched cabbage, and pearl spirit rice, all provided by the Xiao Manor to supplement blood qi.

Xiao Mo was eating well when he saw several little squirts walking toward him.

They held large porcelain bowls with somewhat shy expressions.

”What is it?” After shoveling a mouthful of rice, Xiao Mo raised his head and asked.

”Big Brother!” The three-year-old child named Xiao Dahai swallowed and said, ”Iʼll give you half my meat slices. Can we be your little brothers?”

”Hm?”

Xiao Mo was stunned for a moment.

Only then did he understand their meaning.

This child king Xiao Yang often stole other peopleʼs meat. If others didnʼt give Xiao Yang half their meat slices, they would be beaten and this child king Xiao Yang had been beaten once by him.

Although he didnʼt want to be a child king, he had become one anyway.

”Alright, from now on just give me twenty percent of your food. Iʼll look after you.”

After thinking it over, Xiao Mo nodded.

The main reason was that Xiao Mo discovered his appetite had been growing larger recently. It wasnʼt at all like the food intake of an ordinary three-and-a-half-year-old brat but the Xiao Manorʼs supply of spirit meat to bastard sons and collateral descendants like himself was fixed.

Half a month ago, he would already be hungry halfway through afternoon practice.

”Yes, Big Brother! Thank you, Big Brother!” Xiao Dahai nodded happily. However, Xiao Dashi scratched his head and asked, ”Big Brother, how much is twenty percent?”

”This much.” Xiao Mo scooped out some meat slices from his bowl.

Seeing it was only this little, several peopleʼs eyes instantly lit up.

This was much less exploitative than Xiao Yang!

The new big brother Xiao Mo was so kindhearted!

Seeing this, others also had ideas.

Soon, including Xiao Fu and Xiao Gui who had been beaten by Xiao Mo yesterday, they came forward one after another, first apologizing to Xiao Mo, then contributing twenty percent of the meat slices from their bowls.

Finally, only Xiao Yang remained by himself, looking left and right, afraid of being beaten up in turn. He also walked forward with a red face, ”Big... Big Brother Xiao... Iʼm sorry. I was blind. I shouldnʼt have troubled you yesterday. Big Brother Xiao, Iʼm sorry!”

”Itʼs ʼhad eyes but failed to see.ʼ”

Xiao Mo corrected Xiao Yang.

”Forget it.”

Xiao Mo glanced at Xiao Yang and said, ”As long as you know your mistake and correct it, thatʼs fine. From now on you also give... ah, forget it, forget it.”

Xiao Mo suddenly realized something very important.

That is, if his mother knew they offered him twenty percent of their meat slices at noon every day.

His mother would probably be so angry she wouldnʼt speak to him for several days.

Xiao Mo cleared his throat, ”From now on I wonʼt take your meat slices either. Train well, and donʼt bully each other. Understand?”

Xiao Yang and the others looked at each other incredulously, doubting whether they had heard correctly.

”Iʼm asking if you heard me!” Xiao Mo repeated again.

”We... we heard!” Everyone shouted in unison.

”Good that you heard. Go eat.”

”Yes, Big Brother!” All the little brothers shouted in unison, gathering around Xiao Mo to shovel their food together.

Instructor Huang, who had just walked into the training ground and saw this scene, couldnʼt help but smile, thinking this kid was quite interesting.

Another afternoon passed.

Just as Xiao Mo and the others were about to go home, he saw an extraordinarily dressed maid walk into the training ground.

The maids of the Xiao Manor were also divided into ranks. Generally, the higher the masterʼs status, the more extraordinary the maidʼs clothing.

This maid was one of the First Madamʼs people. He didnʼt know what matter brought her here.

As she spoke, this maidʼs and Instructor Huangʼs gazes simultaneously turned toward Xiao Mo.

”Xiao Mo, come here.” Instructor Huang called to Xiao Mo.

Xiao Mo walked forward, blinking his large eyes, ”Instructor Huang, what is it?”

”Let me ask you, when I wasnʼt here yesterday, did you do something wrong?” Instructor Huang asked.

Xiao Mo glanced at this maid and said, ”Instructor Huang, yesterday at noon, Xiao Yang came to steal my food. I fought with them, then stole their food.”

”Instructor Huang, itʼs not Big Brotherʼs fault. Yesterday I failed to see properly and provoked Big Brother. Weʼve already made up.” Xiao Yang ran over at this moment to speak.

Xiao Mo glanced at this little brat, thinking he actually had some loyalty.

”Thatʼs right, Instructor Huang, it wasnʼt Big Brotherʼs fault yesterday.” Other little squirts also came forward to speak.

”I understand.” Instructor Huang nodded and said to the maid Huanying, ”Iʼll accompany this little fellow.”

”Eh? Instructor Huang is going too?” Huanying looked very surprised.

”What? Is that not allowed?”

”Of course itʼs allowed. Instructor Huang, this way please.” Huanying didnʼt dare say more and quickly led the way.

Xiao Mo followed beside Instructor Huang, feeling this Xiao Manor instructorʼs status might be unusual.

After all, the maidʼs attitude largely represented the attitude of the master behind her. Not to mention, not just anyone could see the Xiao Manorʼs mistress.

From the current situation, even the Xiao Manorʼs mistress had to give him some face.

Before long, Xiao Mo arrived at the Xiao Manorʼs eastern courtyard.

Compared to the small courtyard where his mother lived, this eastern courtyard was absurdly large.

Under Xiao Moʼs feet were azure stone slabs from Jin Kingdom, worn smooth and warm by years of footsteps, like jade.

Walking along the corridor, the pillars were plain. The wood was clearly of excellent aged quality, only showing a dark, steady luster.

The copper components on the railings were made in a simple bamboo joint style. The surface had developed a thin layer of dark green patina, yet felt smooth to the touch.

The courtyard was spacious. Light filtered through the eaves on all sides and fell softly on the ground.

In inconspicuous corners stood several stone drums, soaked with moss, their intertwined lotus patterns somewhat blurred.

Nearby, the water vat was also stone. Half full of clear water, several black koi leisurely swished their tails. Occasionally one or two round water lily leaves floated on the surface.

Huge Taihu rocks were casually stacked, with strange and steep forms, the stone bodies covered with holes of varying depths.

Arriving at the reception hall in the rear courtyard, the First Madam Xia Qingke was already waiting.

Beside Xia Qingke also stood several women.

Xiao Mo recognized them. They were the ones who had come to find his mother last night.

Although Xia Qingke was already over thirty years old, she was very well-maintained, her figure the plump and balanced type that could only be nourished by long dwelling in wealth.

Her skin was the mutton-fat white of someone who hadnʼt seen the sun for years, so delicate you couldnʼt see pores. Her thick, dark hair was like clouds, only loosely arranged in a fallen horse bun with a simple white jade comb inserted.

”Madam, Instructor Huang and Xiao Mo have arrived.” The maid bowed in courtesy.

”Huang Shan pays respects to Madam.”

”Xiao Mo pays respects to Great Aunt.”

Both Huang Shan and Xiao Mo cupped their fists in courtesy.

In Qin Kingdom tradition, children born to concubines must address the principal wife as Great Aunt.

”Instructor Huang need not be so formal. Please sit quickly.” First Madam Xia Qingke smiled.

Just as the First Madamʼs words fell, a figure quickly walked into the reception hall.

Xiao Mo turned to look. It was his mother.

Zhou Ruoxi glanced at her Moʼer, then quickly withdrew her gaze and bowed to Xia Qingke in courtesy, ”Ruoxi pays respects to the First Madam.”

”Sister Ruoxi, please rise.” The First Madam said.

”Thank you, First Madam.” Zhou Ruoxi stood up and quietly positioned herself to protect her child.

”No need to sit.” Huang Shan said to the First Madam, his tone without the slightest flattery toward the Xiao Manorʼs First Madam, ”I donʼt know what matter Madam has in summoning my disciple?”

”Itʼs nothing much.”

First Madam Xia Qingke said respectfully.

”My husband is on campaign, so as the Xiao familyʼs mistress, I naturally must manage household affairs for him and not let him worry.

In my view, whether close or distant relatives, all are people of our Xiao Manor. In the future if matters arise, everyone can help each other. A family should be harmonious and happy. However, not long ago, some relatives came to lodge complaints with me, saying Xiao Mo beat up children from the same training ground and even stole their lunch.”

Speaking thus, the First Madam looked toward Zhou Ruoxi, ”Sister Ruoxi, did such things happen?”

Zhou Ruoxi bit her lip lightly and said, ”In response to Madam, such things did occur, but this has nothing to do with Moʼer. Itʼs because Ruoxi didnʼt teach well. Moʼer is still young, merely a three-year-old child. Please donʼt hold it against Moʼer, Madam. Ruoxi is willing to accept punishment.”

”It was me who did it!” Hearing his motherʼs words, Xiao Mo voluntarily stepped forward, ”But they provoked me first, and weʼve already made up today. If Great Aunt doesnʼt believe it, you can ask Xiao Yang and the others.”

”Moʼer! Donʼt be disrespectful!” Zhou Ruoxi quickly pulled the child behind her.

Just as Zhou Ruoxi was about to speak again, Instructor Huang had already laughed and spoke, ”Hahahaha! When this old one heard of this matter, I found it laughable.

Our Qin Kingdom was founded on martial prowess! That boy Xiao Shi is an excellent man who campaigns on battlefields.

As men of the Xiao Manor, they must strengthen themselves.

Whatʼs there to punish? Whatʼs there to apologize for?

If theyʼre not satisfied, speak with fists.

If they couldnʼt win, they couldnʼt win. What else is there to say?

You womenʼs affairs, I donʼt want to get involved in but everything that happens at the training ground is decided by this old one.

Does Madam have any issues with that?”

”What are you to dare speak to the First Madam this way? You even dare call the Prince by his name!”

A woman beside the First Madam stepped forward, pointing at Instructor Huang and scolding.

She had long found this instructor displeasing. Not only did he torment her son terribly, he was also extremely arrogant and looked down on everyone.

Now, borrowing the First Madamʼs authority, she could vent properly.

The First Madam frowned and said to the maid Huanying, ”Huanying, slap her.”

”Thatʼs right, she should be beaten...”

”Slap!”

This woman had only spoken halfway when Huanyingʼs palm had already struck her face.

The woman covered her face, her mind blank.

”Again.”

”Slap!”

”Again!”

”Slap!”

After three consecutive slaps, both sides of this womanʼs face were full of palm prints.

She had originally thought the First Madam was having Huanying slap Instructor Huangʼs mouth to make him lose face.

Unexpectedly, the one being beaten was herself.

”I, as mistress, failed to discipline properly and made a spectacle for Instructor Huang. Here I offer my apologies.” The First Madam descended from her chair and bowed to Instructor Huang in courtesy.

”Madam, may we leave?” Huang Shan didnʼt care at all.

”Naturally.” The First Madam nodded, ”Actually, I called Sister Ruoxi and Moʼer here today just to ask about the situation. I had no other intention. Henceforth, all matters at the training ground will naturally be decided by Instructor Huang. We will not interfere again.”

”Good that Madam knows.” Huang Shan cupped his fists in courtesy and glanced at the little squirt beside him, ”Letʼs go.”

”Oh, okay, Master.”

Xiao Mo followed his master in a daze.

After Zhou Ruoxi bid farewell to the First Madam, she also quickly walked out of the reception hall.

Because Instructor Huang still needed to give Xiao Mo extra tutoring, Zhou Ruoxi could only return first and wait for her child to come home. Xiao Mo followed Instructor Huang toward the training ground.

”Master, why does the First Madam also give you face?”

Walking on the road, Xiao Mo asked curiously.

”Hehe.” Instructor Huang proudly rubbed Xiao Moʼs head, ”Forget about Xia Qingke. Even if your old man came, heʼd have to properly bow to me in courtesy.”

”That impressive?”

”Exactly that impressive.” Instructor Huang proudly raised his head, ”In short, from now on you donʼt need to worry about anything. Just practice martial arts well. Understand?”

”I understand, Master.” Xiao Mo nodded.

”By the way, you havenʼt been eating enough lately, have you?” Instructor Huang looked at Xiao Mo.

”I havenʼt been eating enough...” Xiao Mo didnʼt hide it.

”Donʼt worry about your meals. At noon, eat as much as you want. Iʼll take care of it. But kid, I have one condition.”

”Master, what condition?” Xiao Mo asked innocently.

”Become my disciple! Take me as your master!”

Instructor Huang stopped walking and said seriously to Xiao Mo.

”Although you call me master, ʼMasterʼ and ʼInstructorʼ are worlds apart. A teacher for a day is a father for life. If you take me as your master, henceforth Iʼll be half a father to you. Youʼre young and canʼt understand yet, which is normal. You donʼt need to agree so hastily. Go back and discuss with your mother.

After becoming my disciple, I will impart to you everything Iʼve learned in my life about spear techniques, holding nothing back.”

”Master, is your spear technique very advanced?” Anyway, as a child, he could ask whatever he wanted innocently.

”Very advanced!” Instructor Huang nodded.

”How advanced?” Xiao Mo was actually somewhat expectant.

”How advanced?” Instructor Huang thought for a moment and looked at the pavilion before them, ”See that building ahead? Your masterʼs spear technique is as high as that three-story building.”

”Three stories high? Thatʼs not very high...” Xiao Mo looked a bit disappointed.

”Hahahaha.”

Huang Shan didnʼt get angry, only laughed heartily and strode forward.

”Master, wait for me.”

Xiao Mo jogged to catch up.

Much later, Xiao Mo would learn that when Master said ”as high as three stories,” it was truly very, very high.

And on those three stories stood only Master alone. There was no one else above.
