Chapter 275: So I Want to See What My Buddha Will Be Like

Kongnian Temple, back mountain separate courtyard.

The second day after the young girl opened her eyes beneath the bodhi tree, she packed her luggage, placing garments one by one into her bundle.

This was the young girlʼs habit.

Even though the young girl had a storage bag, she still used a bundle to pack her clothes, just as she had done in her childhood.

”Little Miguu, do you have anything to pack?” Wangxin asked the little Hundun beside the bed.

Over these years, Wangxin had temporarily given little Hundun a name—”Miguu.”

The name came from how it always called ”miguu miguu.”

And the reason it was a ”temporary” name was because Wangxin had unilaterally chosen this name and had not yet asked Xiao Moʼs opinion.

If Xiao Mo did not like it, then Wangxin would listen to Xiao Mo and change little Hundunʼs name.

”Miguu miguu...” Little Hundun shook its chubby body, indicating it had nothing.
”Then letʼs go. Weʼll descend the mountain to find Xiao Mo,” Wangxin shouldered the bundle.

”Miguu...” Hearing they were going to find its nominal master, little Hundun happily flew to rest on Wangxinʼs shoulder.

”Amitabha Buddha... Wangxin, where are you going?” But just as Wangxin had walked out of the courtyard, Abbot Xu Jingʼs voice came.

Seeing Abbot Grandfather, Wangxin was startled and somewhat nervous, ”Abbot Grandfather... I... I...”

”Alas...” Looking at his own disciple, Xu Jing shook his head. ”You want to go down and find Benefactor Xiao?”

”Mm...” Since the matter was already exposed, Wangxin raised her head and said seriously, ”I ask that Abbot Grandfather grant permission.”

”Wangxin, if it were before, Abbot Grandfather would not stop you, but now is different... You had better not go find Xiao Mo...”

Regarding Wangxinʼs breakthrough yesterday after resolving her inner doubts and entering the Immortal realm, Xu Jing was naturally very happy.

Besides Xiao Mo, Wangxin was the youngest Immortal realm cultivator in the entire Western Regionʼs history. This was a blessing for the Buddhist sect.

But now, with the Buddha-Demon War, this truly was not the time for Wangxin to go find Xiao Mo.

”Abbot Grandfather? Has Xiao Mo... done something?” Wangxin looked at Abbot Grandfather doubtfully.

Since yesterday, Wangxin had sensed that Abbot Grandfather had been restraining his thoughts, as if trying to avoid letting her see something but before, Abbot Grandfather had always been very candid, never afraid of her seeing his thoughts.

Wangxin guessed that Abbot Grandfather was doing this very likely because of Xiao Mo.

”Alas...” Xu Jing shook his head and stopped hiding things from Wangxin.

”Forget it, Iʼll tell you. In these few years, many major events have occurred. Xiao Mo has become the sect master of Ten Thousand Dao Sect and moreover has become the Western Regionʼs Demon Lord. Xiao Mo has even led tens of thousands of demonic sect cultivators and already crossed Buddha Demon Mountain. The great battle between Buddhism and the demonic sects has truly begun.”

Hearing Abbot Grandfatherʼs words, a flash of astonishment passed through Wangxinʼs eyes but very quickly, Wangxin raised her head and said seriously, ”Then Abbot Grandfather, I must go find Xiao Mo even more. I want to stop him...”

”Itʼs useless,” Xu Jing said calmly.

”This great battle has already swept across the entire Western Region. It cannot be stopped just by saying so. Though Abbot Grandfather and Benefactor Xiao have only met a few times, I somewhat understand his character. The reason Benefactor Xiao is doing this is because he has thought it through clearly and made his decision. He will not turn back.”

”Even so, I must go!” Wangxinʼs eyes were resolute.

”Wangxin, if you go now, it will be very dangerous,” Xu Jing still shook his head.

For Xu Jing, Wangxin was not only his disciple but more like his granddaughter.

At this time, Xiao Mo was rumored to have killed until his eyes ran red.

Even if their feelings were deep, if Wangxin appeared at his side now and touched his reverse scale, nothing could be certain.

Seeing that Abbot Grandfather absolutely would not let her go, Wangxin said no more. Holding little Hundun, she immediately flew toward another direction but just as Xu Jing wanted to make a move to stop her, a blood-red blade energy broke through the air and struck Wangxin squarely in the back.

Wangxin lost consciousness and fell from the air.

”Miguu?” Little Hundun was startled and hurriedly flew toward its mistress but at this moment, a man had already stepped through the air and reached out to catch Wangxin.

”Miguu!” Looking at this man, little Hundun rubbed its eyes with its wings, doubting whether it had seen incorrectly.

Xiao Mo caught Wangxin as she fell, then walked step by step into the courtyard, entered the young girlʼs chamber, and placed her on the bed.

After Xiao Mo left the courtyard, he summoned a formation diagram.

The formation within the diagram quickly separated and covered the entire courtyard.

Little Hundun was startled and hurriedly flew toward the courtyardʼs exit, only to crash against the barrier, unable to get out.

”Miguu miguu!” Little Hundun angrily waved its wings within the barrier, as if denouncing Xiao Mo but Xiao Mo acted as if he did not see it. He turned and bowed respectfully to Xu Jing, ”Master Xu Jing, it has been a long time.”

”Amitabha Buddha,” Xu Jing chanted a Buddhist name and returned the salute with palms pressed together. ”Benefactor Xiao, it has been a long time.”

Looking at the man before him, Xu Jing had not expected that Xiao Mo would enter Kongnian Temple as if entering an uninhabited land. The templeʼs formations had not sensed anything at all.

That little boy from back then had actually grown to such a degree.

”Would Master Xu Jing care to walk together?” Xiao Mo asked.

”Please,” Xu Jing extended his hand.

Xiao Mo nodded and walked down the mountain together with Xu Jing.

The two walked through the mountain forest together. Xiao Mo slowly spoke, his tone carrying apology:

”The formation this junior has set up is the inherited treasure of the Heaven Formation Sect. For three years, no one can enter or exit. This junior acted on his own initiative. I hope Master will forgive me.”

”Where does Benefactor Xiao speak of?” Xu Jing shook his head. ”For Wangxin, this may be for the best. However, I wonder why Benefactor Xiao has come to visit Kongnian Temple?”

”Nothing else, just wanting to come persuade Master to surrender and incidentally see Wangxin,” Xiao Mo said truthfully.

”Persuade to surrender?”

Xiao Mo nodded, ”Master Xu Jing is highly virtuous and respected, a true eminent monk. Even my master praised you highly, saying that among the worldʼs true monks, only Master Xu Jing exists.”

”Your honorable master overpraises me.”

”Whether it is overpraising or not, this junior naturally knows in his heart,” Xiao Mo stopped walking and looked at Master Xu Jing. ”Therefore, this junior also does not want to raze Kongnian Temple to the ground. If Master is willing to surrender to me and honor me as master, Kongnian Temple can be as it was before and will continue to be so in the future.”

”Many thanks for Benefactor Xiaoʼs kind intentions,” Xu Jing smiled faintly. ”But Benefactor Xiao, even if this old monk agrees, the others will not agree. This old monk cannot watch them fight desperately with the demonic path while I myself stand by with folded arms. Please forgive me, Young Master Xiao.”

”This junior understands,” Xiao Mo nodded. This was also within his expectations. ”Since this is so, then we shall meet again on the battlefield. This junior will take his leave first.”

Xiao Mo bowed respectfully, turned, and walked down the mountain.

”Benefactor Xiao...” Just as Xiao Mo walked several steps, Xu Jing called out.

”Benefactor Xiao is not a demon head, nor someone who covets the Western Regionʼs fortune. Why does Young Master Xiao act this way?”

Xiao Mo turned around and looked at Xu Jing, ”When Wangxin explained Buddhist teachings to this junior, she once said that Master Xu Jing had a saying, every person has their own Buddha.”

”Precisely so,” Xu Jing nodded.

Xiao Mo looked toward the direction of Kongnian Templeʼs great hall, ”For most people, they burn incense to pray for blessings. Their Buddha sits in that great hall. But... that is not my Buddha.”

Xiao Mo turned around and smiled at Xu Jing.

”So I want to see what my Buddha will be like.”
