We Agreed On Experiencing Life, So Why Did You Immortals Become Real?

Chapter 260: Yet the Young Girl Had Already Grown Ten Thousand Strands of Black Hair

Xiao Mo stood beneath the sunlight.

There were no clouds in the sky, and the sunlight was brilliant, yet a heavy rain began to fall. This ”post-tribulation survival” Dao rain nourished the land for a thousand miles around, mending the injuries on Xiao Moʼs body.

Xiao Mo closed his eyes, allowing the heavy rain to soak his body.

After ascending to the Immortal realm, Xiao Mo could clearly sense the flow of Dao rhymes around him. This was a completely different sight compared to the Jade Simplicity realm.

After the heavy rain stopped, Xiao Mo slowly opened his eyes.

Though his body still bore some injuries after being washed by the dao rain, they had improved considerably. The remaining injuries would be repaired by his Immortal realm body on its own.

Xiao Mo descended from the air and glanced at a large tree to the side, saying, ”Stop hiding, come out.”

Hearing Xiao Moʼs voice, Wangxinʼs delicate form trembled slightly behind the tree, and she stepped out from behind it.

Wangxin lowered her head, her small hands continuously rubbing against each other.

In Wangxinʼs mind, since she had not listened to Xiao Moʼs words, she would surely be scolded by him yet just as Wangxin waited for Xiao Mo to scold her, Xiao Mo simply said softly, ”Letʼs go, weʼre heading back.”
”Huh?”

Seeing that Xiao Mo had not scolded her, Wangxin lifted her head in disbelief, yet Xiao Mo had already flown far away.

In the village, Madam Wang and Ning Wei stood at the courtyard gate, looking anxiously outward.

When they saw Xiao Mo return, their eyes brightened instantly.

”Brother Xiao, youʼre alright, arenʼt you?” Ning Wei hurried forward to ask.

”Iʼm fine,” Xiao Mo said, gently patting Ning Weiʼs head. ”Everything has been handled.”

Xiao Mo turned to look at Madam Wang again and bowed respectfully, saying, ”Madam Wang, I owe you much gratitude for your care during this time.”

”Young Master Xiao, you...” Madam Wang vaguely guessed Xiao Moʼs meaning.

”My injuries have healed quite well now, and my realm has been restored. It is time for me to return to Ten Thousand Dao Sect. Something may have happened at the sect,” Xiao Mo said truthfully.

”Young Master, are you leaving today?” Madam Wang asked uncertainly.

”Yes,” Xiao Mo nodded. ”There is no time to waste, lest problems arise from delay.”

”Since Young Master says so, then I cannot ask you to stay,” Madam Wang said with some reluctance in her eyes. ”Please be careful on your journey, and I trouble you to send my regards to Peak Master.”

”Brother Xiao, be careful on your journey,” Ning Wei gently tugged at the corner of Xiao Moʼs sleeve. ”Brother Xiao can visit the village more often if you have time.”

”Donʼt worry, Brother Xiao will come back to get Weiwei soon.”

After exchanging a few more words with Madam Wang and her daughter, Xiao Mo packed his luggage and left the village.

Wangxin naturally followed Xiao Mo as he left but very soon, Wangxin discovered that the direction Xiao Mo was flying seemed somewhat wrong.

Finally, Xiao Mo landed on the peak of a mountain.

”Xiao Mo? Whatʼs wrong?” Wangxin asked, standing beside him.

”This mountain is called Buddha Demon Mountain,” Xiao Mo said, gazing into the distance.

”The final great battle between the Buddhist and the demonic sects took place in a place like this. From then on, going forward is where the Ten Great Buddhist Temples are located. Going backward, that is where the Ten Great Demonic Sects are situated. Next, you embrace Hundun and walk forward. And I will walk backward.”

”I, I want to follow you back to Ten Thousand Dao Sect,” Wangxin said, her face turning slightly pale, her expression bearing some unease, and she held little Hundun more tightly in her arms.

”You, a Buddhist, follow me, a demon, to a demonʼs den?” Xiao Mo smiled, a tone of mockery in his voice.

”Even if the place youʼre going is a demonʼs den, Iʼm not afraid,” Wangxin said, instinctively stepping forward but before this step could be taken, Xiao Moʼs blade light fell at Wangxinʼs feet.

With a thunderous boom, the entire mountain peak split open along the line of Xiao Moʼs blade qi.

Xiao Mo and Wangxin now stood on opposite sides.

”Migu, miguu,” Little Hundun looked left and right, not understanding what had happened between its master and mistress.

”If you insist on following me, thatʼs fine,” Xiao Mo said, staring directly at Wangxin.

”Answer me one question. If you answer correctly, I will let you follow me. If you answer incorrectly, then get out of here.”

”You, you speak,” Wangxin said nervously, nodding.

”Itʼs simple,” Xiao Mo said calmly.

”All these days, I have been reading your Buddhist texts, and you have told me much about Buddhist classics. Among all this, what I heard most often is your Buddhist always speaking of saving all sentient beings. So if one day I were to kill all the people in this world, but in this world only you could kill me, what would you choose to do?”

Wangxin, ”...”

”I will count to three,” Xiao Mo said, not giving her much time.

”Three.”

”Two.”

Facing the countdown, Wangxinʼs mouth opened slightly, wanting to answer, yet she could not speak any answer.

”One.”

Until Xiao Mo finished counting to three, Wangxin remained silent.

”Go back, and cultivate your Buddhist Dao well,” Xiao Mo turned and flew toward Ten Thousand Dao Sect.

”Donʼt think that the day I spoke of is false. At least when that day comes, you must have the ability to kill me.”

Xiao Moʼs figure gradually disappeared from Wangxinʼs sight.

Even after he vanished and could no longer be seen, Wangxin remained standing in place, watching the direction he had gone.

A long time passed before a sigh came from within the clouds.

The Abbot of Kongnian Temple, Xu Jing, slowly descended from the clouds.

”Abbot Grandfather,” Wangxin came back to her senses and looked at her grandfather with surprise. ”What are you doing here?”

”Previously, Benefactor Xiao sent me a flying sword message, asking me to come fetch you. I arrived yesterday,” Xu Jing said, looking at this girl who was both his disciple and granddaughter.

”Come, Wangxin, you should return,” he said softly.

”Yes, Abbot Grandfather,” Wangxin replied quietly, lowering her head without further words.

After returning to Kongnian Temple, Wangxin sat in the courtyard each day like a statue, raising her head to gaze at the sky, as if conversing with the Buddha above the heavens.

”If one day I were to kill all the people in this world, but only you could kill me, what would you choose?” The words Xiao Mo had spoken as he departed continuously echoed in Wangxinʼs ears.

She was still contemplating the answer yet she could not find one.

”Migu,” little Hundun raised its head, looking at its mistress with concern yet it did not dare disturb her, and could only lie quietly at Wangxinʼs feet.

As time passed day by day.

One day, when little Hundun awoke and raised its head to look at Wangxin, it was startled.

”Migu!” Little Hundun hurried to fly to the main hall of Kongnian Temple, continuously tugging and biting at Abbot Xu Jingʼs sleeve.

Xu Jing understood little Hundunʼs meaning and quickly came to Wangxinʼs courtyard.

When Xu Jing saw his disciple, his expression was involuntarily startled.

”Alas, Amitabha Buddha,” the Abbot Xu Jing sighed softly outside the courtyard, joined his palms together, and chanted a Buddhist name.

In the courtyard, the young girl sitting on the stone bench remained motionless, her head raised toward the sky yet the young girl had already grown ten thousand strands of black hair.
