I am the Ultimate Villain, So What If I Kill a Protagonist

189: Chapter 189 The Man Who Had Been Dead for a Long Time”No way, it can’t be that ominous, right?”

Ye Yun was completely panicked.

He had only casually cursed the Heavens a few times, and the Heavens had actually opened their eyes to bestow upon him a few bolts of divine thunder as punishment.

If this lightning bolt were to strike, it would likely blast him, Ye Yun, into ashes.

”Oh Heavens, I was wrong. I, Ye Yun, will never dare to provoke you again. It is all my fault, all my fault.”

”I swear, I will never dare to curse you again. Please, have mercy and spare me. Spare this lowly life of mine.”

It is better to live in disgrace than to die; although he, Ye Yun, was plagued by bad luck—having been either unlucky or on the path to being unlucky these past few days—he did not want to die so miserably by being struck by lightning.

Fortunately, the Heavens did not truly punish Ye Yun; after a few flashes of lightning and rolls of thunder, the sky returned to calm.

At this moment, Ye Yun looked at the flat mountain path before him, and then at the stream that was within arm’s reach. A sense of fear even arose in his heart, and he dared not act rashly again.

He did not know if, with his current streak of bad luck, something even more terrifying would happen if he continued to move forward.

He had suffered countless losses with nowhere to seek justice, and not even a place to vent his anger.

The humiliation he had suffered over these past few days had long since turned the once arrogant and majestic Lord of the Underworld Palace into a frightened bird.

However, once he thought about how he was covered in the smell of dog feces and his leg was dripping with blood, he knew he had to go clean himself up, even if there was danger ahead.

Ye Yun crawled forward cautiously, inching his way toward the stream in front of him.

”There is absolutely no relying on the Dragon Group and Mo Chou anymore.”

”After committing such ugly deeds, no matter how humble I am in my apologies, an irreparable rift has formed between us.”

”Forget about counting on the Dragon Group to help me; if they don’t hold me back or even kick me while I’m down, I should be thanking the Heavens.”

While crawling forward, Ye Yun was also pondering his current predicament.

Fortunately, until he reached the side of the stream, the danger Ye Yun feared had not appeared, and he had not encountered any more animal traps.

He rolled over abruptly and dove into the stream, cleaning off the dog feces from his mouth and face, and tending to the blood on his leg.

Ye Yun even gulped down several mouthfuls of clear water to mask his nausea.

Lying flat on the ground, Ye Yun began to contemplate his life.

”Although I have one hundred thousand mercenaries under my command, the Dragon Kingdom is a forbidden zone for mercenaries, and the Dragon Group will absolutely not allow these people to easily enter the Dragon Kingdom.”

”But I have no foundation in the Dragon Kingdom, and furthermore, the events of that night have caused me to fall out with the Dragon Group. I must obtain the help of other forces to have any chance of exacting my revenge.”

”It is currently a dead end; where can I find a way to break this situation?”

Ye Yun felt that ever since he stepped foot on the land of the Dragon Kingdom, every step had been difficult.

The current situation was becoming increasingly unfavorable for him.

If his subordinates from the Nether Palace could enter the Dragon Kingdom, let alone getting back at him, they could simply sweep through everything and trample Chu Yuan underfoot.

Unfortunately, all of this could only exist in his dreams.

”Forget it, talking about getting revenge on Chu Yuan or avenging my Ye family members is a matter for later. The most important thing right now is to quickly find a way to heal my injuries before discussing anything else.”

”If this leg is not treated quickly, I fear I will be permanently disabled.”

Thinking this, Ye Yun took out his phone and made a call.

He had not come completely unprepared this time; at least he had brought two Dark Realm expert subordinates with him.

And the people he was looking for were none other than Katerina and the other one, who had been killed by the monk Jiesha and his disciple the moment they stepped into the Dragon Kingdom, and whose graves were now overgrown with grass as tall as a person.

”Hello, the number you have dialed is powered off. Please try again later.”

”Hello, the number you have dialed is powered off. Please try again later.”

A series of mechanical prompts rang out from the phone.

Ye Yun dialed several times in a row, but each time it prompted that the other party’s phone was powered off and could not be reached.

Normally, this situation would be abnormal, unless something had happened to Katerina and her companion.

The moment he thought of this possibility, Ye Yun’s expression suddenly became tense.

His originally fair and weak face turned even paler.

”How is this possible? I don’t believe Katerina would run into trouble.”

”Katerina is a Dark Realm expert; her movement techniques and hidden weapon skills are peerless in the world. Even if I were to cross swords with her, I might not be able to take her down in a short time.”

”Jared is an even stronger expert in the late stage of the Dark Realm; his strength is formidable, and even if he encountered an average peak Dark Realm expert, he could easily handle it.”

”With the two of them working together, unless a Transcendent expert makes a move, they would be able to retreat even if they were outmatched.”

Ye Yun muttered a few words, thinking of that seductive girl who would occasionally come to seduce him, realizing she might have encountered great trouble, or perhaps even met with misfortune.

Ye Yun’s whole heart was trembling, and even his speech was somewhat stuttering.

He once had an agreement with Katerina that this contact method would always be kept.

Now that they were out of contact, it could only mean one thing: Katerina had encountered great trouble, or perhaps even met with misfortune.

”Impossible, it is impossible for Katerina to be in trouble. She must have encountered some issues, had to block her phone signal, or lost her phone.”

”Yes, that must be it. That is the only logical explanation.”

Ye Yun could only use such psychological suggestions to comfort himself now; this was the last remaining fantasy in his heart.

Trembling, he pressed the phone and dialed Jared’s number.

Even if he couldn’t contact Katerina, if he could contact Jared and ask about the reason for Katerina’s silence, he would be able to know what exactly had happened.

He believed that even if they really encountered some danger, it was impossible for both of them to lose contact at the same time.

”Hello, the number you have dialed is powered off. Please try again later.”

”Hello, the number you have dialed is powered off. Please try again later.”

It was the exact same line again, which made Ye Yun completely irritable.

He tried several times in a row, but received the same line every time.

The cold prompts from the phone caused Ye Yun’s heart to sink into an ice cellar.

He didn’t even notice when his phone fell from his hand onto the ground.

Given their strength, even if they were hunted by experts and seriously injured, forcing them to go into hiding, it would be absolutely impossible for them to lose contact with him.

Disappearing at the same time and losing all contact could only have two explanations.

Both of them had been killed by an expert, or they had been injured and captured.

”Dammit, who is targeting me? To actually lay a hand on Katerina and the others.”

Ye Yun scratched his ears and cheeks, feeling completely agitated and distressed.
