I am the Ultimate Villain, So What If I Kill a Protagonist

176: Chapter 176 Unrequited Love, Ye Yun’s Eyes Filled with Tears”President Mei, I know that what you said earlier was just spoken in anger, or even meant for Chu Yuan and his group to hear,” he said.

”You were putting yourself in my shoes and looking out for me. I understand your good intentions, President Mei. It’s all my, Ye Yun’s, fault.”

Facing Mei Feng’s cold mockery and sarcasm, Ye Yun did not care too much and still wore a playful grin:

”I hope President Mei can give me another chance. Rest assured, from now on, I won’t cause any more trouble. I will definitely do my absolute best to protect you, President Mei, staying close to ensure your safety and never letting you come to any harm.”

After Mo Chou’s reminder, Ye Yun was convinced in his heart that the reason Mei Feng had said those heartless words in front of everyone and even fired him was entirely to protect him.

It was to prevent him from acting on impulse, overestimating himself to go head-to-head with Chu Yuan, and getting hurt.

It was precisely because he thought he had figured out Mei Feng’s good intentions that Ye Yun did not leave after being beaten half to death and thrown out; instead, he waited here for her arrival.

Firstly, it was to show Mei Feng his attitude, and secondly, to thank her for her roundabout way of helping him.

Ye Yun’s incredibly narcissistic words left Mei Feng with a face full of black lines.

He was merely a bodyguard; why would she ever go to such lengths to protect him?

As for the ”close protection” he mentioned, just hearing those words made Mei Feng feel disgusted and want to throw up.

How had she not seen before that this Ye Yun was actually shameless to such an extent?

To completely sever ties with Ye Yun and stop him from nagging her further, Mei Feng grit her teeth and said with a serious expression:

”Ye Yun, if my previous words didn’t make it clear to you, I will tell you one last time now.”

”From now on, you are no longer my bodyguard, and there is no relationship between us. Please get as far away from me as possible. If you continue to pester me, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”

”President Mei, you... you’re joking with me, right? Do you really want me to get lost?”

Seeing Mei Feng’s resolute attitude, Ye Yun froze on the spot, even stammering as he spoke.

Could it be that this was all just his own wishful thinking, and he had completely misunderstood Mei Feng’s intentions?

Mei Feng snorted coldly, ”I can’t be bothered to waste my breath on you. Get lost already.”

While the two were speaking, more than a dozen bodyguards from the two luxury cars behind Mei Feng also got out and directly surrounded Ye Yun.

The captain of the bodyguard team pulled out an electric baton and said with annoyance, ”Why are you clinging like a plaster? Take a look at yourself! You’re just a piece of trash, yet you dare to pester President Mei. If you don’t leave now, the boys and I will smash your dog head.”

The security captain had already found Ye Yun, this pretentious prick, rather annoying.

Now seeing him clinging like a plaster and refusing to leave, and with Mei Feng backing him up, he didn’t take Ye Yun seriously at all.

Ye Yun didn’t care about these bodyguards either; they were just a bunch of clowns. His gaze remained fixed on Mei Feng the entire time.

Seeing that Mei Feng’s eyes were filled with determination and a resolute look.

Only now did he suddenly realize that it had indeed all been his own wishful thinking.

”President Mei, I understand what you mean now. Rest assured, I won’t disturb you again. Farewell.”

Leaving behind those words, Ye Yun turned around and left.

”Sister Xu Xue, spread the word that Ye Yun has been fired for stealing company secrets. Anyone who can capture Ye Yun and recover the losses for our Mei Group will be handsomely rewarded by the Mei Family.”

Mei Feng closed her eyes as she uttered these words.

Other than using this method to completely sever ties with Ye Yun, she didn’t know what other way there was to distance herself and the Mei Family from him.

Having been completely abandoned by Mei Feng, Ye Yun returned to the Dragon Group’s headquarters in Magic City, Wuhua Mountain, with a heavy heart and a face full of sorrow.

Dejected, Ye Yun drank alone in the courtyard to drown his sorrows.

Feeling that staying inside the room was too suffocating, Ye Yun stumbled out of the door clutching a jar of fine wine, with no destination in mind.

With Ye Yun’s current strength, this amount of alcohol was like drinking plain water to him and had no effect whatsoever.

But as the old saying goes, ”try to drown your sorrows with wine and you’ll only end up sadder; wine doesn’t intoxicate a man, the man intoxicates himself.”

Whenever someone encounters heartbreaking and sorrowful things, drowning one’s sorrows in alcohol is instead the best choice.

Let alone Ye Yun, who had only just entered the Transcendent—even immortals could get drunk when they were in a bad mood.

”Why on earth is this happening? Why must Heaven torture me, Ye Yun, like this?”

”Since You allowed me to meet extraordinary women like Su Mingyue and Mei Feng, why must they be snatched away from me one by one?”

”The murder of one’s father, the theft of one’s wife—the two most irreconcilable hatreds in this world. Why must I, Ye Yun, encounter them both?”

Ye Yun’s eyes were blood-red, wide like blood-stained copper bells. An unspeakable sorrow and despair filled his entire heart.

At the thought of his wife, Su Mingyue, who might currently be lying in Chu Yuan’s arms, flirting with him.

At the thought of Mei Feng, who had ruthlessly kicked him out, having her heart set entirely on that wealthy young master Chu Yuan, with the two of them perhaps even exchanging secret, flirtatious glances.

Ye Yun felt as though his fragile heart was being sliced away piece by piece with a knife, as if suffering a thousand cuts.

That agonizing, bone-deep pain consumed his entire body and mind, making it utterly unbearable for Ye Yun, whose state of mind was already unstable.

”Master, your disciple is tired. I am really so tired.”

”In just ten years, my lawfully wedded wife, Su Mingyue, actually abandoned me and threw herself into Chu Yuan’s arms.”

”My own biological daughter, Ye Xiaoling, not only refuses to recognize me as her father, but she has even taken a foe as her father, acknowledging that damned Chu Yuan as her godfather.”

”I finally met a peerless beauty like Mei Feng, only to be ruthlessly abandoned by her just because of a single banquet.”

”Master, I miss you. Please come and see me. I want to see you.”

Heartbroken, Ye Yun lived only for the moment, wanting nothing more than to drown his sorrows and get completely drunk.

Lifting the wine bottle in his hand, he chugged it down mouthful after mouthful, seemingly without end.

Perhaps because alcohol gives a coward courage, under the influence of drunkenness, many secrets hidden deep in his heart that he had been unwilling to express began to surface, playing back hazily in Ye Yun’s mind.

”Master, you don’t know how beautiful you are. From the moment I saw you ten years ago, you left an indelible impression in my heart. My mind has been filled with your figure, remaining in my heart forever and ever.”

As Ye Yun guzzled the wine, he uttered those bold confessions.

Normally, he would never have the nerve to say these words, and wouldn’t even dare to think about them.
