I am the Ultimate Villain, So What If I Kill a Protagonist

94: Chapter 94 A Deliveryman’s Ordeal Day”Ding! The host has received another negative review. The system is initiating the penalty mechanism: all shares under the host’s name will be deducted.”

Zhang Yang, whose injuries had just started to improve, once again set out on the path of delivering food in order to become bigger and stronger.

Unfortunately, no sooner had he finished his first delivery than he heard the sound he least wanted to hear.

”What is going on? Where did this negative review come from?”

Zhang Yang was dumbfounded. He had been respectful and submissive, practically acting like a servant, and that lady just now had already promised to give him a five-star review.

How could he have suddenly received a negative review now?

”System, did you make a mistake? I got a positive review, not a negative one.”

”Ding! The host need not question this system. The programs set by this system do not make any errors. If the host receives another negative review, the penalty will be doubled,” the system explained.

That was true; how could the system make a mistake?

Ever since he had insulted the system last time and been tortured by it, Zhang Yang dared not go against the system again, nor did he dare to question it.

That left only one explanation: the lady from earlier had lied to him. Not only had she not given a positive review, but she had also casually left a negative one.

Zhang Yang immediately turned back, intending to find her.

This was because the God-level Food Delivery System had extracted a rule: after receiving a negative review, if he could get the other party to change the review to a positive one within half an hour, he could avoid the penalty.

The prerequisite was that there could be no coercion, bribery, or use of force.

”Ma’am, I’m the delivery driver who brought your meal earlier. Could you please tell me what I did wrong? As long as you point it out, I promise to fix it. Please, change the review and give me a positive one.”

When under the eaves, one must bow one’s head. To avoid the penalty, Zhang Yang had no choice but to beg in a subservient manner.

”You didn’t do anything wrong. I was quite satisfied with you. Didn’t I just give you a positive review? Why have you come back?”

”Young man, some things should be done in moderation. Don’t push your luck.”

She was a middle-aged woman in her forties or fifties with a gentle expression; she looked like someone who would be very easy to get along with.

Hearing this, Zhang Yang felt no anger or frustration; instead, his face lit up with surprise.

A turning point—hadn’t it arrived?

”Ma’am, it’s my fault. Could you please check if you might have accidentally clicked the wrong thing?” Zhang Yang said softly, his face full of pleading.

”Fine, fine. Seeing as your attitude is so good, I’ll let you take a look.”

The middle-aged woman opened her phone. The review clearly showed only one pathetic little star, and below it was a comment: ”The delivery driver’s service attitude is not bad, just like a dog, and I quite like it.”

Zhang Yang’s face turned black. So, despite his attentive service and pious expression, in her eyes, he was just a dog.

”Oh, sorry. My hand slipped earlier, and I clicked the wrong thing by accident.”

The middle-aged woman quickly put away her phone, looking embarrassed as if her secret had been exposed.

”It... it’s okay. Ma’am, could you please help me change it?”

Even though he had been called a dog, Zhang Yang dared not get angry and could only cautiously beg her.

After all, this review was crucial to him.

”This... I’m afraid I can’t change it.”

”Why? Isn’t it just a simple tap?”

”I have a habit. Once I finish a review, regardless of whether it’s right or wrong, I do not change it.”

”Please, help me out. This review is really important to me.”

No matter how Zhang Yang pleaded—he even nearly knelt down to beg—the other party stuck to her principles: she would absolutely not change it.

Little did he know, this scene happened to be witnessed by someone arranged by Chu Yuan.

”Zhang Yang actually went to beg someone just for a five-star review?”

Chu Yuan shook his head, speechless, and sighed: ”To be a Protagonist reduced to this state—I fear only Shen Wen could rival him. If I had known, I would have kept that guy around and let this pair of ’Sleeping Dragon and Phoenix Chick’ meet to discuss the mysteries of being a useless Protagonist.”

Unfortunately, this was only the beginning; it wasn’t over yet.

”Ding! The host has received a one-star negative review. The system is initiating the penalty mechanism: confiscating all of the host’s money.”

”Ding! The host has received too many negative reviews recently. Subsequent penalties will be increased. If another negative review is received, the host’s lifespan will be reduced by ten years.”

”A reminder to the host: do not think that you can escape punishment by stopping the food deliveries.”

”If the host cannot obtain ten positive reviews within three days, this system will enforce the penalty and directly deduct ten years from the host’s lifespan.”

The unyielding Zhang Yang received another prompt from the system after finishing his second delivery.

Confiscate all money, and another negative review would cost him ten years of his life?

He stood frozen in place, completely bewildered.

Who exactly had he offended? He had made two deliveries in one day, and both were negative reviews.

His money and shares were all gone.

The worst part was that if he got another negative review, it wouldn’t just be material possessions being deducted, but ten years of his life.

He wanted to cry but had no tears; this was the helplessness of wanting to cry but having no tears.

The recipient of this delivery was a young man in his twenties.

Although he wasn’t particularly friendly and had no intention of giving a positive review,

Zhang Yang couldn’t figure out why he would give him a negative review.

He immediately found the guy and started arguing with him.

”You ask why I gave you a negative review? Look at what you delivered! It tastes like death, wasting my money, my time, and my energy. Shouldn’t I give you a negative review?”

The young man completely exploded, raining down a torrent of abuse on Zhang Yang.

”Big brother, the fact that the food is bad is the merchant’s problem. You can go communicate and negotiate with the merchant; why give me a negative review?”

Zhang Yang felt the urge to cry. Such an absurd reason had actually been spoken by the other party.

The merchant’s problem ended up being blamed on him, a lowly delivery driver.

”I don’t care if it’s the merchant’s fault or the delivery driver’s. In short, if anyone makes me unhappy, I’ll make sure all of you are unhappy.”

”If you aren’t convinced, why don’t you come and bite me?”

After saying this, the young man slammed the door shut with a bang, leaving Zhang Yang facing only a cold iron door.

Zhang Yang cried.

He really felt the urge to have a good cry.

...

”Ding! The host has received another negative review. The system is initiating the penalty mechanism: deducting ten years of the host’s lifespan.”

As soon as the system’s notification sound faded, Zhang Yang instantly noticed changes in his body; his skin was no longer as fair and tender as before, and wrinkles had appeared on his face.

Ten years of his lifespan had just been played away like that.

Unable to suppress his anger, Zhang Yang went directly to find the person who had ordered the food just now.

It was a teenager of fifteen or sixteen with dyed yellow hair; he looked like the kind of delinquent who didn’t study or work.

”I’m asking you, how did I offend you? Why did you give a negative review?”

This time, Zhang Yang did not choose to be subservient; instead, he asked with a gloomy expression.

The previous two failed experiences, where he had been played like a monkey, made him realize that bowing his head and begging was completely useless.

”I just like giving you negative reviews.”

”What, are you not convinced? If you aren’t, then suck it up.”

The yellow-haired youth couldn’t even be bothered to make up a reason, exuding an attitude of ’come at me if you aren’t convinced.’
