I am the Ultimate Villain, So What If I Kill a Protagonist

89: Chapter 89 Sleeping with a Monk Who Abstained from Killing”My good nephew, calm down.”

Shen Lang smiled, a look of amusement on his face; he was thoroughly enjoying this.

He realized that making Shen Wen the head of the family was truly a great choice.

Shen Congwu was dead, and Second Uncle Shen Congwen was severely injured and unable to move.

As for Shen Wen, such a wet-behind-the-ears brat was easy to manipulate.

”Shen Lang, this is the company, not home. Don’t try to pull rank on me here...”

”I am the head of the Shen Family and the chairman of the Shen Group. You can address me as the head of the family or as the chairman.”

Shen Wen’s eyes widened in anger as he glared fiercely at Shen Lang.

”Alright, alright. It’s my fault, Shen Lang, for being rude and speaking out of turn. Please, don’t take offense, Head of the Family.”

Shen Lang apologized with a smile, his attitude appearing extremely sincere.

Unfortunately, this expression did not look like an apology; rather, he looked like an outsider watching the show.

”You...”

This cheeky grin only made Shen Wen angrier, yet he was helpless. Pointing at Shen Lang, he fumed, ”Why did you order Department Manager Hua to change my decision? Do you even respect me as the head of the family at all?”

”Head of the Family, you’re wronging me. The truth is, your orders were full of loopholes. I was worried the Shen Family would suffer losses, so I corrected them to set things right for you.”

”As for whether I respect the head of the family, I have come here today with the utmost sincerity to ask for your approval.”

”These are all the matters from the three departments I manage. Since you love making decisions, please sign off on these. The staff below will strictly follow your orders.”

As soon as he finished speaking, two bodyguards brought in two large stacks of documents and piled them onto Shen Wen’s desk.

Shen Wen opened them and was nearly enraged to death.

Things like Zhang San and Li Si having a conflict and asking him to act as the judge to settle it.

The toilet in the marketing department was broken, and it required his signature to approve funds for repairs.

The group needed to hire a few more cleaning ladies, and it required his signature as the chairman.

It was all trivial nonsense, yet Shen Lang had brought them all here. Wasn’t this clearly meant to disgust him?

”Chairman, these major matters require your careful review and approval. Take your time. If these aren’t enough, I have plenty more, and I can keep sending them to you.”

Shen Lang left, looking triumphant.

Watching his back, Shen Wen felt like killing him.

”Damn old bastard, pulling rank. Just you wait, one day I will get rid of all of you.”

Shen Wen had been driven to distraction by the people of the Shen Family over the past few days.

It wasn’t just Shen Lang; no one took him, the head of the Shen Family, seriously.

Even after being called back by his mother for comfort, Shen Wen was still unable to calm his anger.

”There is no need to be angry. Although you got your wish and became the head of the family, don’t forget that all the power of the Shen Family is in the hands of these people. They won’t let you seize power easily.”

”What you need to do now is to conserve your energy and wait for the right opportunity, not run around throwing tantrums like a lunatic.”

Qi Xinyue looked speechless.

How had she never noticed before that this son of hers was as useless as Zhang Yang?

Whenever a major issue arose, he was useless, capable of nothing but impotent barking.

”I am the head of the Shen Family! Everyone in the Shen Family must obey me. Sooner or later, I will reclaim power and become the true head of the family.”

Perhaps it was because he had been a live-in son-in-law for three years and had his brain damaged by the Zhou Family.

Now that he had power, it seemed to have lowered Shen Wen’s intelligence.

Aside from having a bigger temper, his intelligence kept dropping, showing a trend of hitting rock bottom.

”If you want to become a true head of the family, you must learn to be patient.”

”You currently have no soldiers or allies, and no power at all. What can you use to deal with these old foxes?”

”I...”

Shen Wen was speechless.

He knew that everything his mother said was true, but he was unwilling to be a puppet head of the family.

Seeing that her son finally recognized the facts, Qi Xinyue continued to ask, ”Let me ask you, have you provoked your godfather and dared to be rude to him?”

”That The Monk, relying on being my father, bosses me around. He even tried to advise me not to provoke Chu Yuan and the Tianlong Group.”

”I am the head of the Shen Family; why should I listen to The Monk?”

In Shen Wen’s view, Jiesha was even worse than those people in the Shen Family.

Relying on being his father, he would constantly make him kowtow and call him ’Dad’ in public, and he was always acting like an elder.

Especially the way he was always fooling around with his mother, Qi Xinyue, regardless of the occasion; he had caught them in the act several times.

Shen Wen had reached the point of no longer being able to tolerate this thieving monk.

”Your godfather is the only person in this world who can help you seize real power.”

”Don’t forget how you obtained your position as head of the family. If not for your godfather’s help, how could you be where you are today?”

”If you offend him to the point of no return and he just walks away, do you think those people in the Shen Family will spare you?”

Qi Xinyue spoke up for Jiesha because, after having deep interactions with him, she had heard him mention it unintentionally.

The meaning was that Jiesha had helped her son Shen Wen ascend to the position of head of the family, and the other party had the intention of discarding him after use.

Jiesha didn’t care; he had no interest in the useless son, Shen Wen.

If not for her, Qi Xinyue, he would not have helped.

If Shen Wen dared to continue being rude, even if Jiesha didn’t punish him, it was impossible for him to continue helping this unfilial son.

Qi Xinyue understood very well that with her stupid son’s ability, he was simply no match for the old foxes of the Shen Family.

Jiesha was the last resort for both mother and son.

For the sake of her precious son, Qi Xinyue had no choice but to use all her skills. After several hours of effort, she finally managed to ”persuade” the thieving monk, convincing him to continue helping Shen Wen.

Worried that her stupid son would offend Jiesha again, Qi Xinyue laid out the stakes clearly.

After Qi Xinyue’s persuasion, Shen Wen realized the importance of Jiesha.

Thinking about how he had lost his temper with him two days ago, Shen Wen panicked: ”But I offended him deeply that day. Will he still continue to help me?”

”Don’t worry. You are his godson. As long as you sincerely apologize, who else would he help if not you?”

As she spoke, Qi Xinyue sighed with emotion.

Fortunately, she had the foresight to ”persuade” Jiesha beforehand.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so simple to get the thieving monk to do things.

Shen Wen had no idea how much his mother had sacrificed for him, this useless son.

He just assumed that fathers under heaven would always forgive the small mistakes their sons made.

Thinking of this connection, Shen Wen hurriedly dialed Jiesha’s phone number, preparing to invite his ”father” back to take charge.
