I am the Ultimate Villain, So What If I Kill a Protagonist

81: Chapter 81 Recognizing a Thief as Father”Shen Wen, do you know what you are doing? How could you do something like this?”

Qi Xinyue pointed at Shen Wen, her face full of heartbreak and distress, yet she did not know what to do.

On one side was her husband, on the other was her son, and her own son had killed her own husband.

Qi Xinyue’s heart was in chaos.

”You don’t need to keep pretending. I’ve known about your sordid affairs for a long time.”

”If I don’t slaughter that old geezer Shen Congwu now, are you expecting him to kill me instead?”

Shen Wen gave a cold snort with an indifferent expression.

It seemed that slaughtering Shen Congwu was as simple as killing a chicken.

”What? You… you know everything?”

Qi Xinyue became even more flustered.

It seemed like her dirty little secrets were known to everyone in the world.

But even if Shen Wen knew about those things, even if he wanted to cover for her and protect her, there was no need to be so ruthless.

Furthermore, Shen Congwu would never vent his anger on his own biological son, Shen Wen, because of her mistakes.

Qi Xinyue brought up the so-called bond between father and son, which only made Shen Wen sneer incessantly.

”What ’father-son bond is greater than heaven’? You’re still lying to me even now. Do you think I don’t know the truth? Actually, I am the child of you and…”

”Amitabha!”

Just as Shen Wen was about to spill the entire ”truth,” a Buddhist chant sounded.

”Since the matter has already occurred, you should think about how to handle the aftermath, rather than standing here shifting blame and analyzing why such a thing happened.”

Jiesha appeared behind the two of them, no one knew when, and looked at them with a calm expression.

”Thieving monk, why haven’t you left yet?”

Qi Xinyue had thought that Jiesha had already left.

Seeing him appear suddenly gave Qi Xinyue quite a fright.

However, for some reason, the moment Jiesha appeared, it was as if Qi Xinyue had found her backbone, and she was no longer afraid.

”Shen Congwu has been killed. The Shen Family will definitely not let us, mother and son, go. I beg you, please think of a way for me.”

”What do you mean ’what to do’? Do I need him to think of a way for me?”

Before Jiesha could respond, Shen Wen said with an arrogant look, ”With Shen Congwu dead, I, Shen Wen, am the head of the Shen Family. The entire Shen Family will have to bow to me.”

If it weren’t for the fact that the thieving monk was his biological father...

...just based on the things he had done with his mother, Qi Xinyue, and the fact that he knew too many of his secrets, Shen Wen had no intention of letting him live.

”Young Master Shen truly has a good attitude.”

Facing Shen Wen’s arrogance, Jiesha clasped his hands together with a smile.

”But do you truly believe that just because you killed Shen Congwu, the entire Shen Family has fallen into your hands?”

”As far as this monk knows, although Shen Congwu only has you as a son, he has two younger brothers, and they have descendants. The Shen Family has countless outstanding successors.”

”When Shen Congwu was alive, they didn’t dare to make a single move. Now that you are a widow and an orphan, do you think you can handle them?”

”With you being such a piece of trash, once Shen Congwu’s death is leaked, let alone becoming the head of the Shen Family, those people in the Shen Family will tear you limb from limb.”

Jiesha wore a smile that was not quite a smile, his disgust for this cheap son, Shen Wen, growing even more.

This guy really thought that by slaughtering Shen Congwu, he would be the one calling the shots in the Shen Family.

It could only be said that Shen Wen was still young; he hadn’t experienced the harsh beatings of society and didn’t know the sinister nature of the world.

”Then why don’t you tell me, what should I do?”

Shen Wen asked, as if pouting.

Jiesha chuckled, ”Is this the attitude you use when asking for help? What relationship do you have with this monk, and why should I help you?”

”You…”

Shen Wen was rendered speechless by the retort.

He really wanted to say, ”You are my father, and I am your son. If you don’t help me, who else can you help?”

But the words reached his lips and were swallowed back down by Shen Wen.

He would never admit to having such a monk for a father, and he was even less willing to have his status as an illegitimate son exposed and be despised by others.

”Then what do you want?”

”Boy, with your current attitude, you won’t amount to anything. Let alone seeking revenge on Chu Yuan and winning back your beloved woman, I’m afraid it won’t be long before you become a sacrificial pawn in the struggle for the Shen Family leadership.”

”Knowing when to yield and when to stand tall is the behavior of a true man. If you want to accomplish great things, you must first learn to bow your head.”

Jiesha’s words deeply stung Shen Wen.

That’s right, as long as he could slaughter Chu Yuan and win back Zhou Xiaodie, what did a little humiliation matter?

”Shen Wen is here to beg for the Master’s guidance!”

Shen Wen cupped his hands, his attitude becoming much more sincere.

”This attitude is a bit better. If you want this monk to take action, you need to acknowledge me as your foster father so that I may act in a legitimate capacity.”

”Foster Father, please accept this bow from your child!”

Without much hesitation, Shen Wen suddenly knelt down to pay his respects to his father.

Although he was unwilling to admit it, in his heart, he had already regarded Jiesha as his father.

Now, just by acknowledging a foster father, he could get the help of The Monk; why wouldn’t he do it?

”Good. Since you are now my foster son, you must follow my rules.”

The Monk droned on and on, and Shen Wen could no longer bear to listen, forcibly suppressing his anger as he said, ”Why don’t you just tell me how you will help me seize the Shen Family?”

”Young people are just so impatient; you need a little tempering.”

”Since you are worried about this matter, this monk will plan for you.”

”Tonight, an assassin will break in, kill dozens of your Shen Family guards, and even kill your father on the spot. To protect your mother, you will fight the villain to the death and suffer serious injuries.”

”In this way, it not only explains your father’s death but also gives you a reputation for filial piety.”

”If anyone in the Shen Family refuses to submit, this monk will treat them as the murderer who killed your father, Shen Congwu, and will send them to the underworld to apologize to Shen Congwu.”

In just a few words, a massive crisis was resolved.

Qi Xinyue was, after all, unable to set her mind at ease regarding her son, and worried, ”If we do this, what if Shen Wen is seriously injured, then…”

Her husband was dead, so he was dead; Qi Xinyue no longer cared.

But if her precious son were to get hurt…

”If you don’t risk the child, you can’t catch the wolf. A small sacrifice in exchange for the entire Shen Family is a good deal.”

Shen Wen didn’t care. Anyway, having been a live-in son-in-law in the Zhou Family for three years, he didn’t know how many times he had been injured.

This time, to seize the position of head of the Shen Family, what did one more injury matter?

Seeing that her son was determined, Qi Xinyue could only helplessly agree.

That night, chaos erupted in the Shen Family.

A master in black broke into the Shen Family at night, killing over twenty Shen Family guards in succession, and even finished off the Shen Family head, Shen Congwu, on the spot.

When he was preparing to kill Qi Xinyue, he was blocked by Shen Wen who fought to the death.

Shen Wen was beaten severely, but he managed to stall for time.

Seeing the Shen Family experts arrive, the man in black retreated helplessly.

To make the act realistic, Jiesha held nothing back.

In addition to killing those guards of the Shen Family, he also delivered a fierce kick to Shen Wen’s chest.

Although not fatal, it was enough to make Shen Wen suffer for a few days.
