Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: The Enraged Little Wife

Nia Mitchell bristled. You, dull? You’re the smartest person in the world!

”Hm?”

Maxwell Peary deftly caught Nia Mitchell’s chopsticks with a reverse grip, preventing her from pulling away.

Nia Mitchell chuckled awkwardly. With a soft CLACK, she let go, and Maxwell Peary simply sat there, still holding her chopsticks.

Nia Mitchell bit her lip. ”Those are my noodles...”

How could he do this?

A smirk played on Maxwell Peary’s lips. His long, slender, pale left hand, with its clearly defined knuckles, tapped rhythmically on the tabletop.

”These are my noodles.”

Nia Mitchell choked back her indignation. Alright, alright, alright. When you’re under someone else’s roof, you have to bow your head. He paid for the noodles. He cooked them. So, they’re his. But... he’s such a bully!

Turning her head away with a cold snort, Nia Mitchell ground her teeth.

Seeing her petulant expression, Maxwell Peary’s eyes crinkled with amusement. Why does she get angry so easily?

Seeing Maxwell Peary’s meaningful smile, Nia Mitchell’s eyes darted thoughtfully.

”Those are my noodles!”

WHOOSH! Nia Mitchell shot up from her seat and, quick as lightning, snatched the bowl of noodles.

Her scheme successful, Nia Mitchell let out a smug chuckle and made a face at Maxwell Peary.

”What’s yours is mine! I forbid you from eating my noodles. I’d rather throw them away than let you eat them!”

Nia Mitchell’s eyes were wide, her words laced with an unreasonable possessiveness. But this fierce protectiveness over her food just made her exceptionally cute.

Maxwell Peary sighed and leaned back in his chair. ”Fine, I won’t eat them!”

There will be plenty of opportunities in the future. Once they get to know each other better, he’ll be able to do whatever he wants.

Thinking about their happy future together, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation.

No wonder his two cold-blooded assistants, veterans of the assassin world, had both decided to venture down the irreversible path of marriage.

Tsk, tsk. A wise choice indeed!

Seeing him thwarted, Nia Mitchell felt especially pleased, and her smile widened.

After they finished their noodles, Maxwell Peary tossed the bowls and chopsticks into the sink and walked out of the kitchen.

”Come on, Uncle Peary will take you to the supermarket.”

Maxwell Peary’s ”we’re rich” attitude made Nia Mitchell stifle a laugh. Dammit, when she first saw him at the Police Department, she’d actually found his noble, unapproachable demeanor awe-inspiring!

”Uncle Peary, will you buy me some tasty snacks?”

Nia Mitchell fluttered her eyelashes, her face a mask of fawning charm.

”I will!”

As he spoke, he picked up the cufflinks he had removed while cooking the noodles and slowly fastened them. His fair fingers moved with elegance. Nia Mitchell chuckled and ran to the sofa to grab her bag.

「Capital Town Mega-Supermarket」

The supermarket shelves were overflowing with products, and the aisles bustled with people. The snack aisle, however, was a sight in itself—largely because the pairing of a handsome man and a beautiful woman always drew attention.

Nia Mitchell held a bag of Lay’s potato chips, munching on them—CRUNCH, CRUNCH—as she browsed the endless rows of snack racks.

Maxwell Peary rubbed his forehead. What on earth is this situation?

This scene... he’d never imagined it, not even in his wildest dreams—that he, Maxwell Peary, would one day be pushing a shopping cart in front of a snack shelf...

”Uncle Peary, these potato chips have a new flavor! But I don’t know if it’s any good. I usually just eat the original.”

Nia Mitchell squatted in front of the shelf, clutching the bag of potato chips. She turned to look at Maxwell Peary, only to see...

Nia Mitchell shot up, stomped her foot, and roared, ”Maxwell Peary! Am I that embarrassing to be around?” She saw him standing three meters away, a look of utter disgust plastered on his face.

Maxwell Peary cleared his throat awkwardly. ”Opening and eating something before paying for it—what kind of behavior is that? You have no manners at all.”

Nia Mitchell turned her head away, ignoring him.

Maxwell Peary was silent for a moment. Is she angry?

”A new flavor, huh? If you don’t know whether it tastes good, you should try it. Here, let me open it for you.”
