Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: So Poor That Only a Household Register Remains

Nia Mitchell shivered in fright, her heart trembling. Beatrice Swan’s groans still echoed in her ears. If she upset Maxwell Peary, would she be the one missing three fingers on the floor in the next second?

She swallowed hard. Fear forced her to take a few small steps back again.

Maxwell Peary noticed her actions, his eyebrows furrowing tightly. Is Rabina Mitchell afraid of him?

”I don’t care whether you’re keen on marriage or not, come with me now!” Maxwell Peary abruptly extended his right hand.

However, Nia Mitchell didn’t offer her hand to him. At this moment, she seemed to forget her fear and turned to look at Hendry Hampton, who was holding Beatrice Swan.

”When did you start lying to me? The Hendry Hampton who carried me on his back for half an hour to the hospital in the middle of the night—was he a lie?”

Her mind was filled with what happened that night. His back had been so warm; it was on that night she had decided to fall in love with this man.

Hendry Hampton raised his head, his eyes filled with rage. ”Yes!”

Seeing Nia Mitchell’s almost subservient demeanor, Maxwell Peary looked awkwardly at his own outstretched hand.

When had he, Maxwell Peary, ever been so humiliated? When had he ever been ignored? When had he ever been rejected?

He roared in anger, ”Nia Mitchell, you deserve it!”

So arrogant was he, he had never experienced such feelings in his life. Furious, he turned and left.

Seeing him withdraw his hand and leave, Nia Mitchell suddenly ran after him and grabbed Maxwell Peary’s arm.

She lowered her head. Though still somewhat scared, she knew there was no longer a place for her here.

”Uncle Peary, let’s go.”

Maxwell Peary paused, then nodded. Supporting her, he prepared to leave.

After leaving the hotel, Nia Mitchell quickly released his hand.

”Thank you, and I’m sorry. I invited you to my engagement ceremony, but instead, I’ve caused you trouble. I need to leave now.”

Her eyes were still crimson, and her words, feigning strength, pierced Maxwell Peary’s heart like a knife.

”You haven’t answered my question.”

Nia Mitchell was startled and looked up at Maxwell Peary. Had he asked a question? No, right? He hadn’t said a single word since they left the hotel. What question was he talking about?

Nia Mitchell stared dumbfoundedly at the man before her. Maxwell Peary didn’t say anything more.

”Goodbye, Uncle.”

Turning, Nia Mitchell left, dragging her exhausted body along the road. In her bag now, there was only an empty wallet and a household register.

She and Hendry Hampton had previously agreed to register their marriage the day after the engagement. Therefore, she had already given up her rented apartment and moved all her luggage to the Hampton Family’s house. Now, she was utterly homeless.

Suddenly, a light rain began to fall. Nia Mitchell miserably took shelter at a bus stop. As a cold wind swept over, she sighed with a bitter smile. Is this what they call misfortunes never coming singly?

She was already wretched enough, and now she was even getting drenched to the bone.

It seemed her only option was to call Fiona Sutton for help. As she reached into her bag to find her phone, she realized... Where was her phone!? Her phone!!!???

Nia Mitchell suddenly remembered: she had answered a call from Fiona Sutton before entering the hotel, and then... And then she seemed to have just left her phone in Maxwell Peary’s car...

Remembering the man from tonight, who was like a Hell Asura, she couldn’t help but feel a little intimidated. That man is too dangerous; it’s better not to have any more dealings with him.

「In an exclusive villa in Capital Town.」

In a minimalist black-and-white study, Maxwell Peary, dressed in a white shirt and simple black trousers, sat frowning in a leather chair. His work had been significantly delayed today because of Rabina Mitchell.

However, despite his usually extreme focus, he was somewhat restless today, occasionally glancing at the phone lying on his desk.

Is Rabina Mitchell really that thoughtless? How has she not realized her phone is missing even now?
