Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Witch Leader

”Start Doomsday right now!”

Eura quickly shouted.

【Doomsday is about to begin. Please wait for the countdown to end.】

A dark red light screen appeared in the center of the space. A message popped up on the screen, with a countdown to Doomsday displayed beneath it.

”What do we do?”

Eura was afraid Lin Ye wouldn’t hold out.

”It’s fine... I can... hold on for a... little longer.”

Lin Ye clutched his stomach. He could feel that arm trying to tear through his esophagus and stomach, but the nutrients he’d absorbed earlier seemed to have strengthened his digestive system. The arm could only struggle helplessly inside his stomach.

His stomach was digesting quickly, but the arm was growing just as fast. Overall, the stomach was slightly faster.

As long as Lin Ye could endure, he would completely digest that arm.The arm seemed to realize this too. It began crawling up his esophagus toward his throat. If it didn’t do something, it would be fully digested before escaping the esophagus.

Little Guardian crouched beside Lin Ye. She placed her hand on his chest, trying to help him digest the arm.

Eura tried communicating with the light screen, but it only seemed to follow its programmed procedures. Nothing she said made a difference.

”It’s useless. You can’t digest me. Once I get out, you’re all dead here.”

The witch leader’s voice rang out from Lin Ye’s stomach.

”Why can you use your abilities normally inside the secret realm? I really didn’t expect that.”

Lin Ye hadn’t anticipated she had such a trump card. At least she hadn’t come straight over to kill them.

”This is the power the king granted me. You’re doomed.”

Maybe because there was no brain here, the witch leader was filled with murderous intent toward them.

”Who’s the king? A really powerful phantom beast?”

Lin Ye tried to gather information from the arm.

”The king is the king.”

The arm had risen below his throat and was prying his throat open.

Lin Ye couldn’t speak anymore. He grabbed his throat with his right hand and clamped his mouth shut.

Just then, a pure white heart appeared inside Little Guardian’s chest cavity. An identical heart appeared inside Lin Ye’s chest as well. The two hearts began beating in sync, and pure white blood accelerated through their blood vessels.

This not only strengthened Lin Ye’s digestive ability but also pushed the arm back down into his stomach.

Lin Ye could see the white heart inside his chest just by looking down. This wasn’t clairvoyance—the heart’s informational weight on the visual level was so intense that it overwhelmed his physical body.

”...Is that the heart?”

Lin Ye remembered Little Guardian had obtained something similar from the vortex at the Storage Point before.

”Yes. I can use it to control other people’s hearts and influence things connected to hearts, but I can’t fully control it yet.”

Little Guardian stroked Lin Ye’s chest, her movements very slow.

”How long can you hold out?”

If Lin Ye could digest part of the arm, his stomach could use the arm’s materials to strengthen his digestive system, and the arm would never escape.

”It’s hard to say. If I use this heart for too long, it’ll gradually spiral out of control. When that happens, it might be more troublesome than this arm.”

Little Guardian sensed something terrifying would happen.

”Can you use it intermittently?”

Lin Ye had some experience handling dangerous items like this.

”Yes, but no more than three times.”

Little Guardian hadn’t tested her limits either.

”Alright. Stop now. Help me when I’m about to give out.”

Lin Ye planned to let his stomach adapt to the arm this way.

Both pure white hearts vanished simultaneously. The arm quickly gained the upper hand and began moving toward Lin Ye’s throat.

Only when the arm reached below his throat did Lin Ye have Little Guardian activate that state. After repeating this twice, the arm was thoroughly trapped in his stomach.

But the arm kept growing, its growth speed only slightly slower than the digestion rate.

”Doing this will only let me take over your body bit by bit.”

The witch’s voice echoed in Lin Ye’s stomach.

”If you could really do that, you wouldn’t be saying it.”

Lin Ye didn’t care about her words at all. Gluttony would completely break down everything digested into nutrients—otherwise, he wouldn’t eat just anything.

The process wasn’t pleasant, but it was reassuring enough.

”You’re destroying the foundation of this world.”

The witch leader really couldn’t take over Lin Ye’s body, at least not in the short term.

”You are the foundation of this world?”

Lin Ye couldn’t help but laugh.

”That’s right. This world is far more terrifying than you imagine. If the kingdom weren’t maintaining balance under the witches’ control, this world would have been finished long ago.”

The witch leader’s arm stayed quietly in Lin Ye’s stomach, as if it had given up struggling.

”Are you joking?”

Lin Ye didn’t think she’d rushed into this space just to maintain world peace.

”This world wasn’t like this originally. Doomsday isn’t entirely a lie we made up. A long time ago, this world was destroyed every so often. I don’t know why either.

The king ended Doomsday. The Witch of Destruction ritual is what prevents Doomsday from happening. I was born after Doomsday ended. I thought it was just a lie the king made up, but now I believe it.

If you activate Doomsday, this world will likely return to that state of constant destruction. Even if you survive this one, you won’t be able to hold out forever. Eventually, you’ll die in one of the destructions.”

The witch leader spoke in a very earnest tone.

”Then why are you the one stopping us? Where’s the king? How do you know what’s happening here? If you just wanted to stop us, you could have done it before. Why did you have to come in? What exactly do you want?”

The witch leader’s words were full of holes. Even if she was telling the truth, it was truth missing key information—more false than a lie.

Using truth to deceive people was one of Lin Ye’s specialties.

”Don’t worry about the king. If it wanted to stop you, you never would have entered the Fortress of Truth. As for my goal... I just want to keep living. That much I’m not lying about.”

The witch leader answered.

”Why is this place called the Fortress of Truth?”

Lin Ye wasn’t particularly concerned with her thoughts.

”I don’t know. The king brought me to the outer hall once before. I couldn’t enter the core area back then. Only the king can answer your questions.”

Because all other creatures had died on the previous Doomsday.

”Where’s the king? Why doesn’t it come to stop us?”

The king clearly knew more than the witch leader. Lin Ye didn’t believe it would just wait outside to die.
