Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Fortress of Truth

After multiple attempts, Lin Ye had roughly figured out what he could do here.

Simple requests were always fulfilled here, but anything related to this facility’s functions was beyond his permission.

“Sigh, looks like I’ll just have to stay here until Doomsday.”

Lin Ye sat beside a dining table covered in various delicious foods. He could even make specific requests to the light screen, down to the preparation method of each dish.

Eura and Little Guardian hadn’t woken up yet. The Gluttony skill kept digesting all sorts of food, and Lin Ye continuously shoved various items into his mouth, but no matter how much he ate, it wouldn’t be long before hunger struck again.

Lin Ye kept eating until the two woke up. His physique showed no noticeable change, which seemed to be some mechanism of Gluttony.

“Wow, you’re secretly eating all the good stuff!”

Eura rubbed her eyes as she walked to the table, picked up a pie, and took a bite.

“You can tell that light screen whatever you want to eat. I’m going to rest for a bit. Wake me up if anything happens.”

Lin Ye walked over to a chair. The chair automatically transformed into a bed with a soft air cushion layer. Lying on it was incredibly comfortable, with no need for blankets at all.“Why does it only give me this stuff?!”

Eura had asked the light screen for many kinds of food, but it only gave her various flavored versions of the white substance.

Lin Ye closed his eyes in the soft airflow. Four hours later, he finally climbed out of bed.

“Has anything changed here?”

Lin Ye scanned the entire hall. Nothing seemed wrong around them.

“No. We noticed there’s a gate between the tunnel and the hall. If needed, we can close it at any time.”

Little Guardian was sitting on a chair beside Lin Ye’s bed, reading a book.

“Why can only you two command that light screen?”

Eura could only get the most basic materials from the light screen, like the white substance needed for survival.

“Of course, it’s because of our different statuses. I’m a phantom beast deity, while you’re just my contractor.”

Lin Ye also picked up a book. Once in hand, he realized it wasn’t an ordinary paper book but some kind of high-tech e-book, somewhat like a small virtual cinema.

“The gap’s that big?”

Eura sighed. She couldn’t even read that kind of e-book; the thing recognized the user’s identity.

“If you need anything, just tell me. I’ll communicate with the light screen for you.”

Lin Ye was about to order another table of food and also get something for Eura. He couldn’t let her eat that white substance alone.

“Thanks.”

Eura started listing the foods she wanted.

Lin Ye ordered two portions. Since they were here, he wanted to taste the cuisine of this world.

Little Guardian wasn’t interested in food. Unless necessary, she didn’t want to eat at all.

Lin Ye kept eating here for over ten consecutive days. One morning around dawn, a massive light screen flashing red suddenly appeared in the center of the hall.

[Warning: Doomsday is about to begin. Relevant personnel, please enter the facility for shelter.]

[23:59:59]

[23:59:58]

[23:59:57]

“…It can do this?”

When Lin Ye and Eura first entered the secret realm, they had indeed triggered some mechanism, but he never expected it to be connected to this facility, nor that such a warning would appear.

“What now? Should we make a run for it?”

Eura grabbed a piece of bread from the table and took a bite. She actually didn’t care as much anymore about whether she’d die.

“Can we enter the facility now?”

Lin Ye asked the light screen.

[Visitor permission insufficient.]

“You try.”

Lin Ye turned to look at Eura. Eura was the Witch of Destruction. Logically, she should have relevant permissions.

“Can we go in?”

Eura walked up to the light screen, still holding the half-eaten bread in her hand.

[Relevant personnel detected: Witch of Destruction.]

[Doomsday is about to begin. Please move to the core area of the Fortress of Truth as soon as possible.]

“How do I get there?”

Eura had no idea what that Fortress of Truth was.

[Spatial teleportation is about to commence. Shall unrelated personnel be expelled?]

“No!”

Eura quickly answered.

Just as Eura gave her answer, Lin Ye noticed a detail. The information on the light screen had changed.

[Today’s number of visitors: 4]

“Lower the gate!”

Lin Ye shouted at the light screen.

The gate closed slowly. Lin Ye heard the sound of air being torn apart from deep within the tunnel.

“Can it expel designated personnel?!”

Eura also realized the situation now.

“No time! Have it expel all unrelated personnel!”

Lin Ye sensed spatial fluctuations and heard the sound of the gate being pierced.

[Spatial teleportation is about to commence. Shall spatial teleportation be canceled?]

“No!”

Eura could only make a choice. She had already seen the white arm that pierced through the gate.

Spatial fluctuations flashed by. Lin Ye and the others’ vision blurred, and they were moved to a pure white space.

Along with them, a slender, fair broken arm was also teleported over.

Without a second’s hesitation, Lin Ye lunged toward the broken arm and forcibly shoved it into his mouth.

The arm struggled inside his esophagus. The severed part began to grow rapidly, quickly forming a fair, delicate shoulder.

‘Boss Pig, Gluttony is the best special ability I’ve ever used! I’m counting on you this time! Please digest this arm quickly!’

Lin Ye was genuinely panicked. The other party was a monster that had crossed the entire tunnel in just a few seconds. If it managed to grow out here, they’d have no way to fight back.

Perhaps hearing Lin Ye’s plea, or perhaps stimulated by the food, Gluttony’s digestive power suddenly intensified by hundreds of times. The part of the arm in his stomach began to dissolve rapidly.

Lin Ye carefully felt this process. Unfortunately, he was just an ordinary person now and couldn’t use mental energy, otherwise, he could have studied this powerful digestive ability.

The arm also seemed to be stimulated and began accelerating its growth. Not only did it regenerate what had been digested in his stomach, but it also grew a full shoulder.

Lin Ye forcibly broke off the shoulder and stuffed it into his mouth. Maybe because it had just grown and hadn’t had time to strengthen, the shoulder’s toughness was only average.

“Cough, cough… Damn, almost choked to death…”

Lin Ye forced those parts down into his stomach, then clutched his belly and fell to the ground. He felt like his stomach was about to explode.

“Are you okay?!”

Eura and Little Guardian ran to Lin Ye’s side, but there was nothing they could do except watch.

“…Ask… if we can… start Doomsday… early… As long as… we kill… the thing… outside… I should… be fine…”

Lin Ye replied in broken sentences.
