Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

War Invitation

The Mutant circled the metal container a few times before approaching it. Lin Ye unfolded the World of Ashes and stored the metal container in his loot space.

The moment the metal container entered the loot space, the dark space vanished. Lin Ye found himself back inside the Underground Tunnels, with the passageway dug by parasitic worms directly above his head.

The Parasitism Network had completely collapsed, and the parasitic nodes were wildly attacking the surrounding environment.

Lin Ye regained control of the Parasitism Network and began checking the status of the planet.

All enemies had disappeared, including their bases.

Not a single corpse remained on the battlefield, leaving only the land and oceans soaked in blood.

The near-deities were also gone, but Lin Ye discovered some massive Flesh-and-Blood Mountain Ranges deep beneath the ground.

Those Flesh-and-Blood Mountain Ranges seemed to lack any cognitive ability; they only kept writhing endlessly.

Lin Ye pierced through the ground, teleported near those Flesh-and-Blood Mountain Ranges, and extracted some amorphous, multicolored substances from within their bodies.

He had no idea what they were, only that they were the only usable things inside these massive Flesh-and-Blood Mountain Ranges. In the next instant, Lin Ye moved to the surface. A giant shark with dozens of heads floated above him, and parasitic nodes were scattered everywhere nearby.

”Hey, you guys cleaned up way too thoroughly, didn’t you?”

Lin Ye grabbed a parasitic dinosaur, trying to get a sense of the situation here.

But the parasitic dinosaur just tilted its head, staring at Lin Ye with a puzzled expression.

”...Guess I’ll have to go over there tomorrow to figure things out.”

Lin Ye unfolded the World of Ashes and released the parasitic worms to the outside. The environment inside the World of Ashes was not friendly, only suitable for storing materials, not for keeping living creatures long-term—otherwise they would be assimilated by the ashes.

So Lin Ye decided not to reclaim these parasitic organisms; he would leave them here to fend for themselves.

After dealing with the parasitic organisms, Lin Ye chose to return to the Shelter.

[War Front Activity Concluded. Reward based on number of enemies eliminated: Special War Gift Box *1]

[Please draw today’s card]

”My turn! Draw a card!”

This time, the card revealed a red piglet. The card dissipated, and a plump red piglet appeared in the center of the Shelter.

The piglet lazily lay on the floor, showing no intention of moving.

Lin Ye pushed the piglet into a corner of the room, then released the Penguin Doll and Xiao Ling from the World of Ashes. After that, he began inspecting the loot he had obtained from this activity.

First was the Spatial Ring. After returning to the Shelter, the Spiritual Energy Barrier on the Spatial Ring automatically disappeared.

Lin Ye extended his mental energy into it. The Spatial Ring had an interior space of several hundred square meters, storing a massive amount of spiritual energy crystals and many different kinds of spiritual energy materials.

Most of them were high-tier spiritual energy crystals, with a small portion being even higher-tier ones.

Additionally, the Spatial Ring contained some crystals infused with spiritual imprints and books made of various materials.

Most of these information carriers were related to different technologies. Lin Ye planned to study them later when he had time.

”Oh? What’s this?”

Lin Ye took out an item from the Spatial Ring—a pure white energy halo.

[Energy Conversion Halo]

[Abyssal Relic. Wearing this halo allows energy conversion through it.]

[Note: Are you sure you want to wear it?]

’How the hell do I put this on?’

Lin Ye tried wearing the Energy Conversion Halo on his head, but it automatically floated ten centimeters above it.

No matter how he moved his head, the halo followed.

’It can do that?’

Lin Ye took off the energy halo and tossed it to Little Black.

There was no spiritual energy inside the Shelter, so the conversion wouldn’t trigger anyway.

Little Black was circling Xiao Ling, seemingly very interested in her.

After inspecting the Spatial Ring, Lin Ye took out the amorphous substances he had dug out from the Flesh-and-Blood Mountain Ranges.

[Divine Substance]

[A substance possessing a certain degree of divinity. It is a very rare special material.]

[Note: Seems to be mixed with some dangerous impurities.]

’So those Flesh-and-Blood Mountain Ranges really were those near-deities? What the hell happened there?’

Lin Ye put away the Divine Substance and opened the Special War Gift Box.

Inside the box was only a single black-and-white card.

[War Invitation]

[Using this card allows you to designate a target faction and pull all relevant personnel from that faction into a designated battlefield.]

[Note: This is an invitation from death.]

’...That’s just nasty.’

If Lin Ye could prepare the battlefield in advance, even if the enemy were a deity, he would still have a fighting chance.

Next was the Jester’s Mask.

[Jester’s Mask]

[Wearing the Jester’s Mask grants you a special identity.]

[Note: Can be used in certain special areas.]

”What special areas?”

Lin Ye put away the Jester’s Mask and checked the metal house he had stored inside his spatial item. That was when he suddenly noticed that the young man’s corpse was gone.

’Of course. If you don’t finish the job, the corpse gets up.’

Since the guy wasn’t really an enemy, Lin Ye didn’t care too much.

Finally, there was the metal container. Lin Ye tried to take it out, only to find it was already gone.

Just then, Lin Ye received a system notification.

[Detected dangerous item inside the loot space. Dangerous item has been preemptively disposed of.]

[System permissions upgraded.]

Lin Ye opened the system interface, but it didn’t show any benefits from the permission upgrade.

’So what the hell was that thing?’

Lin Ye was curious, but he didn’t want to have any more connection with that container.

It was an item more dangerous than the Abyss Box. The system wouldn’t even let it into the system Shelter. Lin Ye guessed that the moment it entered the loot space, the system had already disposed of it.

Just looking at what happened to those near-deities was enough to know that thing was something Lin Ye shouldn’t touch.

Lin Ye didn’t mind the system disposing of the metal container. If the system hadn’t helped him get rid of dangerous items, he would have been dead long ago. He just didn’t understand why his system permissions were upgraded.

Maybe there was something inside the metal container that the system needed.

The more valuable something was, the more dangerous it became.

The Penguin Doll was wandering around the Shelter. Xiao Ling was lying on Little Black’s back, being carried everywhere. The piglet was still lying motionless in its spot.

Lin Ye stopped pondering over those unanswered questions and began tending to the plants and animals in the Shelter, preparing a late-night snack for himself.

After preparing the snack, Lin Ye opened the Group Chat and the Music Box and started eating.

[All Survivors in this area have completed the War Front activity.]

[No remaining Mutation Creatures. Activity concluded.]
