Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 127: Chapter 126: Astonishing Confrontation_1

”Half an hour is almost up.”

Elder Bai Kui glanced at the sky.

”Prepare to leave.”

The Great Elder waved his hand; they could no longer continue waiting. Otherwise, their situation would become rather perilous.

At that moment, a violent black storm suddenly swept through Black Wind Ridge.

”It’s the Black Prison Wind, a unique storm that only forms in Black Wind Ridge,” Xiao Muyu remarked, her pretty face turning grave as she gazed at the black storm.

”There’s someone in the storm!”

Ling Chen’s eyes seemed to possess a penetrating quality. Within the black storm, a dark figure was treading upon the violent winds, rapidly approaching them.

When the dark figure drew close enough, Ling Chen could make out the person’s features: it was an emaciated old man.

”It’s the Demon Elder!” Ling Chen’s pupils contracted sharply as he recognized the withered face.

”Quite a large gathering. Are you children of the Divine Intent Sect here to welcome me?” The Demon Elder’s piercing voice echoed through the sky.

His figure finally landed atop a sharp rock.

”This is bad.” A sullen look crossed the faces of the Great Elder, Elder Bai Kui, and Elder Shen. The Great Elder turned to Elder Bai Kui and Elder Shen. ”Have the disciples retreat first; we will hold him off.”

”Great Elder, let the two of us stay as well.” Nie Wu Xiang and Longyang stared at the Demon Elder atop the rock, their eyes blazing with fighting spirit.

It was indeed a great honor to exchange even a few blows with a legendary martial artist renowned throughout the Jianghu three decades ago.

”What are you two thinking?” The Great Elder’s face darkened. ”With your strength, you can’t even withstand a single move from him, yet you want to cross swords? You’re courting death! Stand down!”

”Quickly lead the disciples away!” Elder Bai Kui also ordered sternly.

”Yes!” Nie Wu Xiang and Longyang could only cup their fists respectfully and then prepare to retreat with the other True Disciples. We were just being reckless, they thought, their minds much clearer now. Indeed, against a Top Sky Apex Strong, if we were to face him, we would undoubtedly be defeated in a single blow.

”You want to let the disciples leave first? Unfortunate for you, none of you are leaving today! I won’t spare a single person from the Divine Intent Sect!” The Demon Elder’s eyes glinted with malice. He had been trapped by the previous Sect Leader of the Divine Intent Sect, and now, he yearned to slaughter every disciple of the Divine Intent Sect to vent his bitter hatred.

As his voice fell, the Demon Elder moved. His hands shot out, emitting an incredibly viscous black True Qi that extended into two sharp, black Qi Blades.

The Demon Elder slashed through the air, sending two hundred-meter-long black Qi Blades hurtling towards the Great Elder and the other two Elders, trapping them.

”Scatter and form a defensive formation!”

The three Elders scattered, forming a triangular formation. Their auras seemed to connect, and their movements were remarkably synchronized.

One after another, they leaped up, each harnessing their True Qi to condense a Qi Blade. The three Qi Blades intersected, swirling outwards in reverse to collide with the two hundred-meter-long black Qi Blades.

”Trifling tricks.” The True Qi within the Demon Elder surged forth like a gushing spring, coalescing before him into a giant black Sickle. With a swing from the Demon Elder, the Sickle brutally chopped towards the three Elders’ triangular formation.

A Top Sky Apex Strong possessed exceptionally abundant True Qi, which could be condensed into any form, allowing them to unleash its greatest power in the way they were most proficient.

A deafening explosion thundered as powerful shockwaves swept out in all directions, stirring up clouds of dust and sending stones flying. Even large trees were toppled, and the residual force was like a typhoon.

Ling Chen and Xiao Muyu, who had already mounted the Jade Lion, were shocked as they witnessed this scene. To involve ourselves in a battle of this level with our current strength would be suicide! Ling Chen thought.

”Can the Elders really handle this demon?” Xiao Muyu asked worriedly.

”Let’s hurry,” Ling Chen urged. ”I believe the Elders can handle it.” Even though the enemy is a Top Sky Apex Strong, he has been trapped for so many years. His strength must have significantly decreased from his Peak Period and will require time to recover. Furthermore, Great Elder Shangguan Hong, despite not having reached the Sky Apex Realm, is a Grand Master at the peak of Nine Heavy Realm Dharma. He can be considered a Half-step Sky Apex Realm warrior. With their combined strength, even if they cannot defeat the Demon Elder, they shouldn’t be defeated quickly. As the Great Elder of the Divine Intent Sect, Shangguan Hong surely has other trump cards.

Ling Chen felt a pang of regret. It’s a pity I can’t witness such an exciting battle in person. The confrontation between them is an epic duel! If I had the chance to watch, it would be incredibly beneficial for my martial arts cultivation.

”Let’s go! The other True Disciples have already gone far ahead,” Xiao Muyu urged, her gaze fixed on the heart-stopping, top-tier duel.

Ling Chen nodded without further hesitation. He couldn’t gamble with his own life.

He viciously whipped the Jade Lion’s back. The beast, stung by pain, shot forth with astonishing speed, carrying him and Xiao Muyu away from the area until they disappeared from sight.

「 」

After escaping from Black Wind Ridge, the group returned directly to the Divine Intent Sect.

This trial was effectively voided due to unforeseen incidents like the appearance of the Demon Elder.

However, more people were concerned about the outcome of that battle. After all the True Disciples had left, the result of the clash between the three Elders and the Demon Elder remained unknown. It was only a day later, when the three Elders returned to the Sect, that everyone learned what had happened.

Ultimately, the Demon Elder had not gained much of an advantage. Although the three Elders were all seriously injured, they had managed to return alive.

Although the ordeal was perilous, they had managed to minimize their losses.

「Wuchen Courtyard.」

It was particularly quiet.

Ling Chen began to cultivate in isolation, preparing to refine the Cultivation Resources he had acquired from Black Wind Ridge to enhance his Cultivation.

Seated in his room, Ling Chen took out a foot-long jade box and placed it on the ground before him.

When he opened the box, a thick medicinal fragrance wafted from within.

There were two Heavenly Heart Grasses, each containing potent Medicinal Power. For warriors at the Martial Artist Level, refining even one could allow them to break through to the next level.

But Ling Chen was different. He cultivated the Ling Tian Sword Scripture, and his True Qi was far more abundant than that of warriors in the same realm. While others only needed one Heavenly Heart Grass, he required three.

In addition to the Heavenly Heart Grass, Ling Chen had also found a Solid Reality Pill on Zhan Yu’s body. With this, his chances of breaking through to the next realm were almost certainly guaranteed.

However, Ling Chen did not rush to refine the Heavenly Heart Grasses completely. Instead, he refined one stalk every seven days. He dedicated the rest of his time to consolidating his Mountain and Water Sword Intention and practicing the Dragon Seeking Sword Technique.

He intended not only to refine the Heavenly Heart Grass but, more importantly, to fully absorb its Medicinal Power and convert it into his own strength.

Through this meticulous refining process, the True Qi within Ling Chen’s body grew increasingly pure. Although his Cultivation realm had not yet broken through, he had already reached the peak of a Third Level Martial Artist.

Ling Chen was not in a hurry to break through in his Cultivation.

After stabilizing my Sword Intent, I should consider practicing a new Swordsmanship, Ling Chen mused. This Swordsmanship doesn’t need to be of a higher grade than the Dragon Seeking Sword Technique. The most important thing is that it must harmonize with the conception of my Mountain and Water Sword Intention and be able to perfectly unleash its power.
