Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 110: Chapter 109 Test_1

”So, Mental Power level is useful after all. Luckily I’ve been honing my Willpower since I was a child. I should probably be at around level three or four!”

Yun Tianhe secretly rejoiced. As far as mental strength level was concerned, he was convinced no one here could beat him.

”Are you Ling Chen, the first in this year’s True Disciple examination?”

Suddenly, Elder Xie Chan’s gaze fell on Ling Chen as she asked.

”Indeed, I am.”

Ling Chen responded with a fist and palm salute.

A look of sudden realization flashed across Elder Xie Chan’s face, and she smiled, saying, ”From the start, Bai Kui has been telling me about you, calling you a once-in-a-century genius. You’ve grasped the Sword Intent Embryo at just sixteen. He praised you to the heavens.”

”Seeing as you’ve grasped the Sword Intent Embryo at such a young age, I assume your mental strength level should also be respectable.”

Elder Xie Chan’s imposing aura was immense. Previously, when she infused Mental Power into her gaze, all six Disciples below dared not meet her eyes, immediately lowering their proud heads.

Only Ling Chen remained composed under her gaze. At that moment, she had already sensed that this young man was extraordinary. After learning Ling Chen’s name, she was no longer surprised.

A sixteen-year-old who had comprehended the Sword Intent Embryo would naturally possess formidable Mental Power.

”I think, probably around level six or seven.”

Ling Chen thought for a moment. He had always possessed extraordinary Willpower. His Mental Power had been significantly enhanced through the Life and Death experience at Broken Soul Cliff, and now, coupled with his comprehension of the Sword Intent Embryo, claiming to be at level six or seven shouldn’t be an exaggeration.

When Ling Chen said this, no one believed him except Elder Xie Chan. He was so young; how could he possibly have such strong Mental Power? Level six or seven—how could someone who had never specifically focused on cultivating Mental Power reach such a height?

”Would it kill you not to boast?” Xiao Muyu’s beautiful eyes glared fiercely at Ling Chen. She believed Ling Chen’s Martial Arts talent was high, but Mental Power and Martial Arts were arguably two different paths. She didn’t even believe Ling Chen’s boasting about his Mental Power.

”Exactly! Talk is cheap. You might as well say you’re level ten.”

Yun Tianhe’s gaze turned somewhat gloomy, and he then sneered, convinced Ling Chen was definitely bluffing.

”If you don’t believe me, then don’t.”

Ling Chen shrugged. Mental Power is inherently ethereal and intangible; it can’t be manifested physically like Cultivation.

”I have a peculiar item here that can test your mental strength levels.”

Elder Xie Chan smiled and then took a transparent stone from her sleeve. The stone’s interior looked multicolored and vibrant, but its light was contained within, making it appear dim.

”This is the Five-Color Stone. You just need to channel your Mental Power into it, and the Five-Color Stone will radiate different colors according to the intensity of your Mental Power.”

”There are five colors—green, blue, purple, orange, and red. Green signifies levels one to five; blue is for levels five to ten; purple, levels ten to fifteen; orange, levels fifteen to twenty; and red indicates anything above twenty.”

As Elder Xie Chan spoke, the Five-Color Stone in her hand also lit up, releasing a dazzling, brilliant red light.

”I’ll go first.”

Learning the Five-Color Stone’s function, Yun Tianhe was eager to show off. He was confident his mental strength level was definitely the highest here.

”Alright.”

Elder Xie Chan handed the Five-Color Stone to Yun Tianhe.

”Watch me.”

Yun Tianhe took the Five-Color Stone, pressed his palm onto its surface, and his eyes focused intently.

FLASH!

A halo of light burst from the Five-Color Stone, its color shifting from green to a deep, dazzling green.

”Not bad, your mental strength level is almost at four.”

Elder Xie Chan’s eyes lit up slightly as she nodded.

Hearing this, Yun Tianhe became quite pleased with himself. My guess was correct after all; my mental strength level is indeed close to four.

”Let me try too.”

Xiao Muyu took the Five-Color Stone and began her test.

The Five-Color Stone lit up, also green, but it was a notch weaker than Yun Tianhe’s, indicating around level three.

Xiahou Lin, Li Liuxing, and the others also tested one by one. The highest among them were Xiahou Lin and Li Liuxing, whose mental strength levels both reached four. Xiao Muyu and Gu Lingfeng were slightly behind; after all, they were younger and less experienced than the former two, so it was understandable that their Mental Power was a bit weaker.

Among the four prodigies, Yun Tianhe’s Mental Power was actually the strongest.

”Didn’t someone just claim their mental strength level was at least six or seven? Why the sudden cold feet now?”

Yun Tianhe had finally found an opportunity to humiliate Ling Chen. How could I let such a good chance slip by? I have to seize this and put him on the spot.

”Ling Chen was just speaking casually; you can’t take it seriously, right?”

Xiao Muyu tried to make excuses for Ling Chen, hoping he wouldn’t lose face too badly.

”Speaking casually? Ling Chen was first in the True Disciple examination and has comprehended the Sword Intent Embryo. I believe his strength must far exceed ours,” Yun Tianhe said with a mocking smile.

Ling Chen couldn’t be bothered with Yun Tianhe’s taunts. He directly took the Five-Color Stone and pressed his palm onto its surface.

At this moment, everyone’s gaze was fixed on the Five-Color Stone in Ling Chen’s hand.

Although Ling Chen had comprehended the Sword Intent Embryo, everyone estimated that his mental strength level could reach level five at most. That has to be the limit; it’s impossible for him to surpass that.

FLASH!

The surface of the Five-Color Stone lit up, radiating a dazzling green light.

In the blink of an eye, the green transformed into a deep green, as if it had reached its limit.

”Heh, so that’s all it is.”

Yun Tianhe sneered. The intensity of this green light is about the same as mine.

But the next moment, Yun Tianhe froze. The green light that filled his vision instantly transformed into blue! Not only him, but everyone else was also dumbfounded, scarcely able to believe their eyes.

”How is that possible?!”

Amidst everyone’s shocked gazes, the Five-Color Stone in Ling Chen’s hand released a dazzling blue light. From within the Five-Color Stone, streaks of even deeper blue light erupted, brilliantly resplendent.

”It’s actually level eight!”

Elder Xie Chan’s eyes suddenly brightened, a look of shock also appearing in them.

Only sixteen years old, yet his mental strength level has reached eight. Such talent is simply terrifying.

”You freak!”

Seeing Ling Chen walk past her, Xiao Muyu quickly stomped hard on his shoe.

Ling Chen, not expecting Xiao Muyu to stomp so viciously, felt a sharp pain in his instep. He looked at her, somewhat bewildered. Does she really need to see me embarrassed in front of everyone to be satisfied?

Xiao Muyu crossed her arms over her chest, her snow-white chin tilted slightly upward, looking very pleased.

”To possess level eight Mental Power at sixteen... such talent is likely unprecedented in the Sect’s history, wouldn’t you say?” Bai Kui stroked his beard, smiling broadly as he spoke.

”If not the absolute first, he’s undoubtedly among the top three in history. This boy only needs proper guidance, and he will surely achieve Great Accomplishment in Array Formations and Illusion Techniques in the future.”

Elder Xie Chan’s eyes burned with a fervent gaze as she looked at Ling Chen. At this very moment, she even had the thought of taking Ling Chen as her Disciple.
