A '70s Flash Marriage: Raising Cubs, Making Millions

Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Both Sons Rebelled

”Mom, she’s not young anymore. After divorcing me, what kind of person can she still find? Plus, she’s always been the one taking care of the child. Would she really be willing to leave?” Li Si glanced at Li Yanan, speaking in a gloomy tone.

”You don’t have to use these things to scare me. When my daughter gave birth to Shitou, I came over and saw how passive you were. I remembered that in my heart. All those sweet words in the past turned out to be fake. My daughter gave you two sons. In our village, she’s considered the most blessed woman, but how did you treat her?” Li Yanan sneered, seeing Li Si’s cold face as nothing.

Trying to scare her? Laughable.

When she was holding a gun with her father, he hadn’t even been born yet!

”Bringing Xiu’er back to the village, who in the village doesn’t know she’s given birth to two sons? Do you think she’ll worry about getting married again? You’ve been in the military so long that your brain doesn’t work anymore!” Li Yanan spat, using her daughter’s future to threaten her? Did he really think no one would want her daughter?

”The man at the village entrance, back then if it wasn’t because his family was dirt poor that I was unwilling to let my daughter suffer and refused him, he’d still be waiting wholeheartedly for my Xiu’er now! He’s never married. Do you think if Xiu’er goes back, he won’t come to propose?”

Li Yanan’s words left Chen Xiu and Li Si stunned.

In Chen Xiu’s mind, the boy who played with her as a child, protected her, and doted on her appeared.

He... hasn’t married?

Li Si’s face changed dramatically.

”Chen Hao, pack your sister’s things. Chen Xiu, go with Li Si to handle the divorce, and I’ll take you back to the village today. So nobody will think you’re unwanted!” Li Yanan pushed Chen Xiu, who nodded and walked toward Li Si.

”Let’s go.”

”Chen Xiu, if you dare divorce me today, you’ll never see your two sons again in your life!” Li Si pressed his lips tightly, his eyes full of threat.

”I must’ve been blind to choose to marry you back then.” Chen Xiu initially wanted to change Li Si, but now she was truly heartbroken. Entrusting her future to such a man, she realized how foolish she was.

”Say whatever you want. If you dare divorce, I’ll make sure you never see them again.” Li Si gritted his teeth.

”That’s not for you to decide. The children are older now. We can ask for their opinion.” Chen Xiu remembered what Fu Xiaoxiao said, wanting a divorce is not just up to Li Si; they should also ask the children’s wishes.

”You wish. You won’t take a single one of the sons. They’re the Li Family’s blood.” Li Si was adamant that Chen Xiu wouldn’t leave the children, forcing her to compromise.

”That’s not up to you.” Chen Hong walked in with a stern face, and Li Si looked surprised at Chen Hong’s presence.

”You’ve got quite a presence! So, you can take care of two children? Don’t have to go on assignments?” Liu Hongjun glanced at Li Si, and his sharp gaze made Li Si fall silent.

”How come you’re here?” When Li Si saw Liu Hongjun, he was like a mouse seeing a cat, and all his arrogance disappeared at once.

”If I hadn’t come, I wouldn’t have known you acted like this at home. It’s really an eye-opener for me.” Liu Hongjun glanced subtly next door and snorted softly.

Just wandering around the camp, yet got roped in as a toolman.

”No, no, I can handle this!” Li Si hurriedly promised. If Liu Hongjun became disappointed in him, he’d never be able to advance again.

”I have eyes, and I can see.” Liu Hongjun said coldly, as he approached Chen Xiu, his tone softening. ”Comrade, what do you think?”

Chen Xiu glanced at Liu Hongjun, sensing his aura as a leader.

”I... I... I want a divorce from Li Si, and I want the two children to stay with me.” Chen Xiu closed her eyes and boldly stated her demands.

”No way! I disagree.” Li Si gritted his teeth in refusal.

”Then can you take care of the two children?” Liu Hongjun turned to Li Si and asked indifferently.

”I... I can have my mom come over to take care of them.” Li Si bowed his head and said softly.

”Now you say she can come over and take care of them. I’ve been taking care of the two children all these years; you always said her health was poor or she was too busy to come. Turns out it’s all possible; you’re just unwilling. Only because you think I’m easy to bully, you never intended for your mom to come over.” Chen Xiu laughed bitterly, hearing him say his mom could come over to take care of them made her really laugh.

Turns out everything was possible, he just didn’t want to.

And she was supposed to endure these hardships; they never thought about offering a hand.

”Divorce, I want a divorce.” Chen Xiu’s eyes were filled with coldness as she looked at her mother.

”Leader, it’s good you came. This matter indeed needs an intervention from leadership. My daughter has been married to Li Si for years, and he’s always looked down on her. Now, I want to bring my daughter home, and my daughter doesn’t want to stay with him anymore. Could you see if you can grant this divorce?” Li Yanan, receiving her daughter’s signal, immediately stepped forward to Liu Hongjun.

”Comrade, have these two truly reached the point of no return where they must divorce? Isn’t there any room for reconciliation?” Liu Hongjun sighed, feeling obliged to advise them.

An attempt at reconciling rather than splitting.

”I am certain, I want to divorce him.” Chen Xiu glanced at Liu Hongjun and then turned to look at Li Si, the man for whom she wasted years. She had given up on him.

”Divorce if you want, Chen Xiu, don’t regret it!” Repeatedly being asked for divorce by Chen Xiu, and now in front of Liu Hongjun, made him look like a failure. Li Si was furious.

Since Chen Xiu was being unappreciative, then divorce it was. He didn’t believe he couldn’t find someone better than her.

”My biggest regret is marrying you.” Chen Xiu wasn’t timid, firmly holding onto the idea this time.

”Since both of you are so sure about divorcing, then Comrade Chen Hong, handle the paperwork for them.” Liu Hongjun glanced at Li Si, shaking his head.

Such a character wouldn’t be fit for big responsibilities.

”What about the children?” Chen Hong cautiously looked at both Li Si and Chen Xiu, asking.

”Come over here.” Liu Hongjun waved his hand to the two silent children standing in the corner.

Li Lei and Li Sen walked dejectedly towards Liu Hongjun. ”Hello, Leader Uncle.”

”I’m asking you, and you should answer honestly. Do you want to stay with your dad or your mom?” Liu Hongjun looked at the two uneasy children and asked seriously.

”We want to stay with... mom... dad.” Li Sen, about to say Chen Xiu, was pinched secretly by Li Lei, and he immediately changed his answer.

Chen Xiu was stunned, not expecting Li Sen to choose Li Si.

Liu Hongjun didn’t miss Li Sen’s moment of hesitation; it was clearly ”MA” that suddenly changed to ”dad.”

”Hahaha, that’s Dad’s good son.” Li Si laughed proudly, hugging Li Lei in his arms.

Li Sen wasn’t happy at all.

Li Lei looked at Chen Xiu and slowly spoke. ”I don’t want to follow mom back to the village and suffer. I want to stay with Dad in the military.”
