Chapter 2046: Chapter 2047: Sound Transmission Mushroom

Angel had no knowledge of the external tumult; he was instead casting a peculiar gaze at the pure white mushroom.

He had now moved to the front of the mushroom, as he had speculated, there was no sign of life on the mushroom’s front side, indeed, the mushroom itself was speaking.

The mushroom split open a long seam, let’s temporarily call it a ”mouth,” and the prior chanting and dialogue all emerged from this mouth.

Angel had seen several types of mushroom oral structures before, but this mushroom was the most bizarre; its mouth contained no teeth, only strands of mycelium hanging down, curled up like musical notes and vibrating with shifts in pitch.

While Angel was closely observing this mushroom, the tone of the mushroom’s conversation suddenly changed.

”Oh no, he’s here!” This was a shout that mixed the prior ethereal female voice with a hoarse voice, originally these two voices were conversing, but suddenly they shouted in unison.

Once this piercing shout died away, the big white mushroom closed its mouth, no longer speaking.

Angel was bewildered by this string of actions: What was happening? Was the ’he’ who came referring to me?

”Ah, the Sound Transmission Mushroom finally stopped, I can finally speak.” Just when Angel didn’t know what had happened, the previously silent mushroom forum suddenly sprang to life with discussions.

”Must be shy. Being gazed upon by the noble Shava, if it were me, I’d be embarrassed too.”

”It’s not just shyness, the Sound Transmission Mushroom on the other side also went silent, so naturally, this side stopped as well. However, Shava’s visit is surely the biggest reason!”

Following this was a stream of praise for Shava, from which Angel grasped what had transpired earlier.

This pure white mushroom is called a Sound Transmission Mushroom; its exhibited abilities are somewhat akin to a ”telephone,” capable of transmitting sounds from the mother mushroom near the sub-body, and vice versa.

This white mushroom is a sub-body of the Sound Transmission Mushroom.

Continuing on, Angel discovered numerous Sound Transmission Mushroom sub-bodies on his path, only none of them spoke further.

As Angel progressed, he contemplated one thing: knowing the Sound Transmission Mushroom’s capabilities, the voices he heard earlier were definitely from intelligent life near the mother mushroom.

Who could be conversing?

Angel recalled how when the Sound Transmission Mushroom began ”speaking,” all other mushrooms ceased their forum exchanges, they only dared to speak when it went silent.

These mushrooms were evidently not fearing the Sound Transmission Mushroom, but the intelligent beings conversing within it.

One must know, the bee Blair is also intelligent life, but the mushrooms not only don’t fear him, they even want to tattle. Thus deducing, the entity they feared likely is the master of Duling Garden—Misty Goldlady.

Moreover, the mother Sound Transmission Mushroom would likely not be sown casually, possibly within Misty Goldlady’s castle. Misty Goldlady can issue commands to all mushrooms in the garden through the Sound Transmission Mushroom.

While Angel was pondering, he once more noticed a Sound Transmission Mushroom.

He thought it would be like the ones before, silent. Yet unexpectedly, as Angel passed by, a voice was transmitted over.

”Praise the moonlight, praise the Queen, praise Shava!”

The voice was rough and raspy; Angel instantly recognized it as the voice that was previously conversing with the female voice.

From the sound alone, Angel envisioned an old man smoking all his life, his throat ruined by smoke, coupled with an inherently aged voice, creating an illusion of a saw cutting into a grindstone.

Angel wasn’t startled by the abrupt voice, but turned to the Sound Transmission Mushroom: ”State your name.”

The Sound Transmission Mushroom abruptly shut its mouth, not uttering another word.

Angel’s expression remained unchanged, but internally he was skeptical: is his portrayal of Shava lacking? Or perhaps, the identity of the entity cannot be treated with such a ”commanding” attitude?

Angel didn’t know what was going on, and he couldn’t stay there waiting endlessly for the entity to speak. Since he conjectured the speaking creatures might be in Misty Goldlady’s castle, he would naturally learn the situation upon arrival.

Thinking thus, Angel turned around and continued flying forward.

Once Angel’s figure completely vanished, and the surroundings fell into silence, the Sound Transmission Mushroom suddenly reopened its long oral cavity: ”Oh no, it seems he’s really angry.”

This time an ethereal female voice transmitted, soon followed by a response from the rough, raspy male voice: ”I heard Lord Nuka mention before, Shava’s tone is always cold, you needn’t worry too much.”

”But, I’m still kind of scared... Fine, I’ll continue practicing the song, still tearing moonlight...”

”I’ve said before, it’s nothing to do with moonlight!”

The sounds gradually faded away, eventually until they were completely gone.

Angel was unaware of such little episodes as he continued flying forward. After about five minutes at a near-ground low altitude, Angel saw a hill shaped like a ”volcano.”

The reason for saying ”shaped like” is because Angel did not sensibly detect fire elemental energy; ahead about a thirty-meter undulating hill; calling it a hill might be overstating it, it was perhaps just a mound of dirt. The top of this mound was directly sliced off, akin to the shape of a ”volcano.”

Angel paused at this mound not merely because of its unique terrain but also because at its top—at the ”crater” position lurking in dim light.

These lights were like a hat composed of white light, covering the mound’s summit.

This extraordinary phenomenon straight away ensnared Angel’s sight.

Angel hesitated momentarily, slowly landing to the ground, following the mound’s undulating lines, gradually climbing towards the mound’s summit.

Despite Angel’s cautious slow pace, he still reached the top of the mound in about a minute.

Standing at the edge, peering within, his pupils abruptly constricted.

This mound’s center was sunken!

The white light seen before wasn’t atop the hill, but in this mound’s sunken region!

And the light source came from a castle!

...

The mound’s sunken area was extraordinarily vast. It resembled an independent little garden within Duling Garden, densely planted with an array of bizarre mushrooms.

These mushrooms’ peculiarity was visually apparent: white mist interwoven, green mist rising, luminous mist permeating, rainbow mist drifting...

Yet these were not the main matter, what was pivotal was the towering castle at the very center of these mushrooms.
