Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 2006: Chapter 2007: A Minor Episode

Angel summoned Babaya and the others to discuss the matter of the high magic region, instructing them to practice here and document their progress with tricks.

He didn’t reveal the true nature of the high magic area to them, but he did mention that virtual magic power wouldn’t affect their real-world training, although it could provide them with more experience in constructing trick models.

Perhaps, after staying here for a while and comparing it to reality, they might have some guesses about the Wilderness of Dreams. But regardless of whether their guesses are accurate, it doesn’t have much impact on Angel.

”This is a benefit for you staying here,” Angel said. ”During breaks between tasks, you can practice here.”

”As for which tricks you choose to practice here, it’s up to you. If you want to train in ’Karna Blood Technique’ and ’Elementary Tricks: Revised,’ you can apply to Frode for access, as this is part of the rewards I promised you earlier.”

After speaking to Babaya and Kudodo, Angel turned his gaze to Baruba: ”You, too, can practice here during this period. Once the construction tasks begin, a similar high magic region will be set up in the New City over there, so you don’t have to worry about your progress falling behind.”

The three thanked Angel with ceremonial bows, but their gratitude was merely a formality. At this point, they were unaware of the significant impact the high magic region would have on them in the future, perhaps even directly changing their destinies.

After bidding farewell to the three, Angel and Sanders returned from the testing grounds outside the city to Originheart City.

They chose the Treehouse Bar again and discussed topics about advanced virtual magic power and some issues related to the Wilderness of Dreams’ open testing.

Currently, virtual magic power can only allow a wizard to cast Level 0 and Level 1 tricks. To advance, it’s necessary to enhance the overall magical energy level.

Although Angel can control the energy level limitation, his understanding of energy is quite limited, so increasing the energy level falls to Sanders.

The answer Sanders provided was much faster than Angel had anticipated.

According to Sanders, by the time the Star Observation Day conference ends, it should be possible to boost the magical energy level to that of a Second Level Apprentice, allowing tricks up to Level 2 and pseudo-Level 3.

”Initially, the energy level can be rapidly increased simply by enhancing the quantity. The difference between Level 1 and Level 2 is minimal, similar to swapping a cup for a bucket to hold water, which can be achieved in one or two weeks. However, based on my current planning, transitioning from the energy level of a Second Level Apprentice to a Third Level Apprentice involves replacing the bucket with a reservoir, which might take one or two months to accomplish.”

”As for elevating an apprentice’s energy level to that of an official wizard, this marks the shift from quantitative change to qualitative change. At that point, we’ll probably have to find new measures for energy, and I can’t estimate the exact time needed; it could be several months, or even several years, who knows.”

Angel could also discern this. To use an analogy, the Wilderness of Dreams somewhat resembles a newborn low mana world just entering transcendent society. When the energy level reaches official wizard level, the low mana world starts transitioning to a mid mana world.

Though this is merely an analogy because the Wilderness of Dreams isn’t fundamentally a low mana world, it illustrates that the energy level transition of an entire world won’t be simplistic.

Thus, the transition from quantitative to qualitative change will undoubtedly be a major hurdle.

However, Angel firmly believes that despite this significant obstacle, it can ultimately be surmounted. Because in this battlefield of energy level transition, he is not alone.

”Currently, carrying the full power of an official wizard into the Wilderness of Dreams is still a distant goal and can be set aside for now. For now, let’s set a short-term goal of reaching Third Level Apprentice energy level in the Wilderness of Dreams before the Tea Party arrives,” Sanders said lightly, knowing that the Tea Party would be a pivotal moment for the Wilderness of Dreams. So it’s a good idea to elevate the energy level as much as possible; it’s never a bad thing.

Angel nodded in agreement. Since they’ve decided to conduct a small-scale public test during the Tea Party, it’s certainly best to make it as comprehensive as possible.

Of course, even if this goal isn’t achieved, it’s no big deal. Because in Angel’s view, the unique features of the Wilderness of Dreams are already quite powerful, enough to handle the critical witches at the Tea Party.

After discussing the energy level threshold, they turned to other issues, among which they made a notable decision—

After the end of Star Observation Day, they will choose a day to inform Lord Reine about the Wilderness of Dreams.

This doesn’t feel like a consensus; they had already decided to inform Lord Reine soon. With his support, the Wilderness of Dreams could develop at an extremely fast pace, easily surpassing their small trials and errors, since Lord Reine represents the boundless foundation of the Barbarian Cave.

Of course, telling it is certain, but how to express it and to what extent is what’s need to be considered.

Over the next few days, Angel would come up with a plan.

After finishing discussing these formal topics, they also talked about real-world things, like the prophecy of Star Observation Day, and situations with relics...

During the conversation, a small interlude happened.

Toby, having roamed the Wilderness of Dreams for more than half a month, sensed Angel and hurried over to the Treehouse Bar to stick around with him for a while.

Before Angel could inquire about Toby’s recent whereabouts, Toby dashed off without looking back, flying towards the south of the city.

Watching Toby’s fleeting figure, Angel was initially taken aback but quickly realized from a god’s perspective that Toby had flown to the Stone Pillar Colosseum in the south of the city.

”Tullas, upon entering battle mode, ignores public facilities, and Shalu, to prevent more destruction, agreed to duel at the Stone Pillar Colosseum. It’s quite lively there now, with many people going to watch,” Angel glanced and chuckled, ”Although Toby went there not for the spectacle, but because Flafiel is singing there... really, who would expect an opera singer to hype the crowd before a fight?”

Aside from being a food lover, Toby’s passion is music. Even though he has no musical ear, his love for music has never waned.

In the entire Wilderness of Dreams, Toby admires two people most — Jon and Flafiel. Jon’s piano deeply captivates him; Flafiel’s nearly celestial voice completely conquers Toby. Every time Flafiel performs, Toby is sure to attend, and now, sensing Flafiel singing, he didn’t even consider Angel, his little master, and bolted towards the Stone Pillar Colosseum.

Though Angel felt a bit miffed, he was happy Toby found enjoyment here.

Because of Toby’s little episode, Angel suddenly remembered something.

”Oh, I promised Greya I’d give her an answer before. When shall we inform her about the Wilderness of Dreams?”
