Chapter 2011: Chapter 2012: Emerging One After Another

Tree Spirit turned around and saw that the visitor was Sanders.

Sanders was dressed as meticulously as ever; his black hat completely covered his short gray-green hair, and his formal suit fit perfectly against his frame. The black gloves embroidered with dark patterns and the bright red lining of his cloak were immaculate, without a single crease.

In the biting night breeze, Sanders’ cloak fluttered constantly behind him, never touching the ground.

Angel even suspected that even if there was no wind tonight, as long as Sanders started moving, the cloak would move on its own... After all, Sanders cared greatly about his noble image.

”Has Lord Rhein already come out?” Sanders asked as he approached.

Tree Spirit was still wondering how Angel had informed Sanders, so he didn’t respond immediately. It was Angel who answered Sanders’ inquiry in the end.

”Yes, just now, Lord Rhein has already come out from the passage of the Star Pond Ruins.”

After receiving a positive answer, Sanders nodded: ”Then let’s head over.”

Sanders tapped his toe and flew into the air. Angel followed suit, and seeing Tree Spirit not moving, Angel whispered, ”Lord Tree Spirit?”

After a moment of absent-mindedness, Tree Spirit followed them.

On the way to the Star Pond Ruins, Tree Spirit was still pondering how exactly Angel had informed Sanders?

This question might be trivial to other wizards, but Tree Spirit was very aware that there was definitely something amiss here.

Because the Mirror Lady hadn’t woken up yet, he had temporarily taken over her permissions, allowing him to clearly perceive all the information exchanges between the Mirror World and the outside world. Just like the flying illusion message of Sumishe the other day, it was after Tree Spirit nodded in agreement that it could enter the Mirror World and fly to Illusion Demon Island.

Therefore, Tree Spirit was very puzzled, Sanders was surely on Illusion Demon Island before, how did Angel bypass the Mirror World’s blockade and notify him?

Angel has a spatial displacement ability in his witchcraft slot, could he possibly have used this ability to enter the Mirror World to notify Sanders? But soon, Tree Spirit rejected this assumption because he was constantly monitoring the spatial fluctuations of the Mirror World, and recently there was no abnormal spatial fluctuation of anything entering the Mirror World from the outside.

Since none of these situations apply, it is peculiar.

As Tree Spirit was deep in thought, he suddenly thought of something. Previously, Angel mentioned that he was researching a topic on information interaction, which in Tree Spirit’s view amounted to a communicator. Could it be that Angel had already developed it? And that this communicator could surpass the barriers of the Mirror World?!

Tree Spirit’s eyes lit up, and he couldn’t help but ask Angel for confirmation.

Angel initially didn’t understand what Tree Spirit was contemplating, but upon hearing this, he realized that the point of contention was the communication method.

Angel: ”Lord Tree Spirit is thinking in the right direction, but the communication method is not as conventional as imagined.”

Tree Spirit: ”Not a conventional communication method? What could it be then?”

Angel: ”The research is still ongoing, in a little while, you will understand.”

Tree Spirit paused for a moment, his expression somewhat resigned. Recently, Angel has kept a mysterious attitude regarding everything he does, not disclosing the full picture, whether it was the topic of variables or now holding back information about the communicator. This left Tree Spirit, who had always maintained a strong curiosity, quite uncomfortable.

But as Angel, the researcher, was unwilling to disclose more, Tree Spirit, as the future beneficiary, wasn’t in a position to inquire further, and could only sigh in frustration.

Sanders: ”Angel will soon announce the new communication method, and by then you will certainly be the first to know, Lord Tree Spirit. For now, let’s discuss the situation with Lord Rhein.”

Sanders shifted the topic to the Star Pond Ruins: ”Did Lord Rhein encounter that unknown creature wearing shoes that we saw before?”

”It hasn’t appeared, but the passage leading to the ruins’ door has now encountered a change.” When speaking of the Star Pond Ruins, Tree Spirit’s expression became somewhat severe.

”What change?” Sanders furrowed his brows.

”When Rhein previously entered the dark side of the passage, he encountered many magical creatures...” Tree Spirit recounted the details of what Rhein encountered.

”Rhein could handle these creatures easily, but the troubling part is that not long after clearing them, new creatures would emerge from the darkness. That place, a perpetual darkness that light couldn’t dispel, seemed like dark energy that summoned magical creatures. Each wave perished, only to be followed by another.” Tree Spirit sighed, stating that according to Rhein, he had cleared them many times, but they couldn’t be completely eradicated. The magical creatures appeared endlessly.

After listening to Tree Spirit, Sanders deeply furrowed his brows: ”Did Lord Rhein reach the ruins’ door?”

Tree Spirit nodded: ”He reached it, and Rhein vaguely saw that there were indeed magic patterns beyond the ruins’ door!”

Upon this, Tree Spirit turned to Angel: ”The presence of magic patterns on the ruins’ door is normal, but whether there is a map-related pattern, you’ll need to verify that.”

Angel nodded in agreement, this was indeed a part of his duties.

Sanders: ”How should we deal with the creatures then? If they’re only low-level monsters, it wouldn’t matter, but if their numbers swell, it might become problematic.”

Tree Spirit: ”This needs careful attention. However, Rhein mentioned that after each round of clearing, there’s a gap of time, which can be utilized.”

Sanders pondered for a moment and thought it might be worth a try if that’s the case. Moreover, with Sanders and Rhein both entering the passage, Angel should be safe under their protection.

But definitive actions will be determined after discussing them with Rhein upon reaching the Star Pond Ruins.

During their silence, Angel suddenly said: ”Did Lord Rhein encounter a flying skull up in the air? That sounds a bit like a flying skull monster.”

The first magical creature Angel encountered during his initial entry into the Nightmare Realm en route to Naraku City was indeed a flying skull monster.

”Red eyebrows, solitary eye, with nostrils but without a nose bridge, it indeed is a flying skull monster.” Tree Spirit, unaware of Angel’s thoughts, nodded in agreement with his words.

However, Sanders understood what Angel was thinking. He responded calmly, ”Flying skull monsters aren’t creatures specific to the Nightmare Realm; they appear in many places.”

Though Sanders didn’t explicitly state it, Angel understood his implication: do not overthink it, the flying skull encountered by Lord Rhein is not the one from Naraku City.

Angel chuckled softly, feeling slightly embarrassed. He had indeed been making connections earlier. After all, the flying skull monster was the first monstrously shaped creature he encountered, leaving a profound impression on him. So, he instinctively wondered if it was a monster from Naraku City that had come to the ruins.

Upon reflection, it indeed seemed implausible.

During their conversation, the Star Pond Ruins had already come within sight.
