Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 2003: Chapter 2004: The Strange City

While they were talking, at the end of the corridor, a figure suddenly appeared, fully encased in knight armor.

His appearance was extremely strange, as if he had flowed out from the wall.

When he stood still in the corridor, he transformed from a fluid form into a solid person.

Baruba instinctively stood at the forefront, looking at the strange man with wary eyes: ”Who are you?”

”No need to be tense. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Shalu. I am Tyson’s knight and also a demon hunter of the Sin Hunting Group.” Shalu performed a gentle knight salute, ”Young Master Tyson has sent me to bring you to meet Mr. Jon.”

”Young Master Tyson? Do you mean Frode Tyson?” Baruba softly remarked.

”I don’t know who you are, but calling Young Master Tyson by name is not polite in Originheart City,” Shalu said plainly, ”Let this be the only time.”

With that, Shalu turned around, ”Follow me, Mr. Jon should be teaching a piano class right now. We should be able to find him at the Marine Theater.”

Watching Shalu’s back, Kudodo whispered, ”Could he be a problem? His entrance was really bizarre.”

”This is the central core of Originheart City, probably the place with the strongest guard presence, there shouldn’t be any issue.” Babaya said, then took the lead and followed.

The group followed Shalu out of the Sky Tower, along the main street, heading towards the Marine Theater.

Along the way, Babaya attempted to chat with Shalu, not really trying to probe the truth here, but purely curious about his abilities and the so-called Sin Hunting Group.

However, no matter what Babaya asked, Shalu skillfully evaded with tricky responses. His conversational skills were far superior to those of ordinary Kulakuka Tribe members.

In the end, Babaya did not obtain any useful information and could only return to Kudodo’s side, helplessly.

”Babaya, did you notice anything odd about the plants here?” Kudodo whispered in Babaya’s ear, ”Although they seem to grow well, they all look newly sprouted, the traces of age are extremely shallow.”

Kudodo, having absorbed only a small amount of virtual magic power, was an apprentice of nature, and noticed the abnormality in the surrounding plants with just a touch of magic.

Although Babaya was from the bloodline side, her faction leaned towards plant bloodlines, and in terms of plant sensitivity, she was actually on par with Kudodo. After Kudodo mentioned it, she closely observed the roadside flora and indeed felt an unusually vigorous growth without the hardships of natural development.

”I saw someone dismantling a tree earlier, and upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a stone-carved tree.” Kudodo rubbed his temples, ”This city gives me a very strange feeling.”

Babaya felt the same internally, but as she tried to ponder further, Frode’s words flashed in her mind: Compared to the tasks assigned to you by the adults, do you think uncovering the truth here is more important?

Babaya closed her eyes, suppressing her burgeoning inquisitive thoughts: ”Indeed, it feels strange, but perhaps it’s just the customs here.”

Such a custom for the mass of new plants? Kudodo was full of questions.

But since Babaya said so, Kudodo decided not to dwell: ”Aside from some peculiar places, the residents here are just like elsewhere...”

After saying this, Kudodo glanced around. Many citizens were secretly observing them. To be precise, observing Kudodo and Babaya.

Some even called friends over for a collective spectator experience.

After all, people the size of a palm were truly rare.

”I’m starting to want to merge with the bloodline of a woodland giant, or it would be nice if I could learn the Shapeshifting Technique,” Kudodo said helplessly, holding his forehead, only by becoming a ”big” person might he avoid the fate of always being watched when going out.

”We’re almost there. That building is the Marine Theater; once you enter, you won’t be watched anymore,” Shalu said with a laugh, ”Don’t worry about it, you two. Everyone is seeing someone so small for the first time, there’s no ill intent. Curiosity is universal, it’ll pass in a few days, just like a few days ago everyone saw for the first time...”

Shalu suddenly stopped.

”Saw what for the first time?” Kudodo curiously asked.

”It’s nothing, if you’re curious you can investigate yourself, I won’t say more.” Although the matter of the Dream Plant Fairy wasn’t a secret, Shalu didn’t know whether it should be disclosed to them, so he chose to remain silent. If they were capable, they could find out themselves.

Another five minutes or so of walking, Shalu stopped at the entrance of the Marine Theater.

Even before entering, you could hear the sound of a melodious piano.

”I won’t accompany you in. Mr. Jon is currently playing piano; you can wait in the audience seats first. After he finishes playing, then go find him.”

After saying this, Shalu prepared to leave.

Just then, a shadow suddenly fell from the sky. Shalu reacted swiftly, jumping away instantly.

Shalu looked back to see Kudodo and the others, only to find Kudodo and Babaya’s reaction speed was even faster than his. Surprisingly, using some skill, despite their small size, they jumped onto the head of a four-meter-tall sea lion statue. Baruba, however, didn’t react much, as he was trailing behind all along and wasn’t within the range of shadow’s impact.

After confirming everyone was safe, Shalu looked at the ground where the shadow landed...

The cracked marble floor wept and lamented.

Shalu sighed helplessly: ”Another repair request... How many times has this happened? Dozens? Or over a hundred? Young Master Tyson is sure to be angry.”

Upon hearing ”Young Master Tyson,” the shadow instinctively shivered a bit but soon disregarded it, directly facing Shalu: ”No more nonsense! I’ve finally caught you today. To achieve my battle aesthetics, today I must have a fight with you!”

With that, the shadow lifted the skewed bull horn helmet, revealing a fair face starkly contrasting with their imposing build.

”Sheriff Tullas, I’m currently working,” Shalu’s tone carried deep helplessness.

”Who cares if you’re working or not, we’ll fight first and talk later.” With that, Tullas pushed off with his feet, transforming into an arrow, charging toward Shalu.

Within minutes, Tullas and Shalu exchanged hundreds of attacks.

The impact was remarkable, the floor continuously ripped apart, and the faces of the city defense team watching were filled with distress.

Meanwhile, on the top of the Treehouse Bar, several hundred meters away.

Angel, who was in conversation with Sanders, suddenly looked in the direction of the Marine Theater.

”What’s wrong?” Sanders took a sip from a wine glass filled with scarlet liquid.

”It’s nothing, Tullas and Shalu have started fighting,” Angel sighed.

Sanders, upon hearing this, showed no reaction. To him, it was indeed a trivial and insignificant matter.

”Forget about them.” Angel shook his head, eyes returning to Sanders: ”Although I possess the Ability Tree, my understanding of energy limitation is not as profound as Mentor’s. Do you think there’s a possibility to construct a high magic zone?”
