Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1538: Section 1539 Naming and Practice Chapter 1538: Section 1539 Naming and Practice After assigning Dufan a “homework,” Angel did not look at him, but turned to the others and said, “Thereʼs a little time left before the five minutes for questions are up. There is one more chance to ask. Does anyone have any doubts?”

The crowd looked at each other, and seeing Dufanʼs plight, no one dared to act rashly now.

However, perhaps it was Angelʼs dazzling proof formula demonstration that also intimidated everyone from asking more questions. Angel looked around and no one spoke up.

“It seems you are willing to give up this opportunity; very well, letʼs continue our analysis…” Just as Angel was about to continue, he saw someone stand up.

“Do you have a question?”

The person who stood up was Vannerson. He nodded solemnly: “Yes, I have some questions about the interaction between energy and matter.”

Vannersonʼs expression was very formal. Ever since he followed Angelʼs reasoning and witnessed the scene of a desolate Alchemy Desert blossoming into beautiful flowers, he had no doubt about Angel. He really wanted to raise the doubts in his heart, eager to get answers.

Angel pondered for a moment and then nodded in agreement.

Vannersonʼs question was about the control methods related to Stillness Reactions.

Stillness Reaction is a type of interaction between potions and energy, but it is extremely difficult to observe. It has no significant impact on the nature of the potion, a negligible reaction, but since it exists within potions, if one could utilize it, it would be a refinement for Alchemists who strive for perfection.

After thinking deeply about Vannersonʼs question, Angel gave an answer.

Angel provided many methods, not just from Alchemy itself, but also including reaction tools, Demonic Materials assistance, purifying techniques, and even some external influences from Spell Techniques. Angel made a relatively comprehensive summary.

Among the methods, some Vannerson had thought of himself, though not as deeply as Angel had. There were others Vannerson hadnʼt considered, but upon hearing Angelʼs explanation, he immediately felt enlightened.

Angelʼs response also provided significant insight to other Alchemists in the room who dabbled in Potionology.

After grasping the concept, Vannerson couldnʼt hide his excitement and even wanted to go back and practice immediately, but he dared not act rashly during the lesson.

Suppressing the excitement in his heart, Vannerson respectfully said to Angel: “I would like to ask Mentor Pat one last question, if I may?”

By addressing Angel as “Mentor,” Vannerson already showed his affirmation and respect for the knowledge imparted by Angel.

This also started some whispering among the people around about Vannerson.

Angel heard these discussions. He didnʼt care about the content of their discussions, but he caught the title they used for Vannerson.

Angel looked with some surprise at the pale-faced man before him: “So you are Vannerson.”

Vannerson looked at Angel with some astonishment: “Mentor Pat knows of me?”

“Naturally, Mentor Midora has mentioned you. You are the most outstanding Reformist School Mentor of Ashiliye,” Angel replied with an even expression, nodding. In Midoraʼs opinion, Vannerson was a very promising Potionology Reformist Alchemist.

Originally, Angel had been quite interested in Vannersonʼs ability to keep up with his own thinking. Now that he knew he was someone Midora paid attention to, he felt a hint of favor towards him.

Because of this hint of favor, Angel didnʼt refuse Vannersonʼs question.

He nodded and waited for Vannersonʼs question.

Angel thought Vannerson would continue to consult on Potionology-related knowledge, but instead, Vannerson asked gravely: “The Alchemy Formula applicable to Demon Blood Energy Transmutation that Mentor Pat just proved seems to be the first of its kind. May I ask, how would Mentor Pat like to name it?”

Whether it was Alchemy Formulas, Magic Energy Formulas, or energy structures, creators would name them. Although this Alchemy Formula doesnʼt have much practical use, if someone were to refer to this formula, a name would still be needed.

Moreover, Angel had asked Dufan to complete “homework,” which would certainly involve this Alchemy Formula.

Angel contemplated for a moment.

In fact, he had seen a similar formula in Alchemy Books he recorded in the Nightmare Realm, but that was for another common Demonic Material – Spirit Transmitting Diamond.

The Spirit Transmitting Diamond and Demon Bloodstone are somewhat similar, both able to accommodate other types of energies, so the formulas are similar in some ways.

However, the process of proving the Alchemy Formulas is actually not the same, and the content proved is very different, naturally, they cannot be directly applied. However, it is undeniable that Angel was able to prove it so quickly because that formula had inspired him.

With this in mind, Angel made a decision:

“Itʼs not a very important formula, just give it any name, how about we call it the Demon Blood Energy Transmutation Formula?”

As Angelʼs voice fell, the room fell into silence.

Everyone: “…”

Vannerson: “…” He had heard rumors before that Angelʼs ability to name was problematic. He did not believe it before, but now the fact proved it was indeed the case.

However, since Angel is the creator who named it, they have no place to interject. They could only scratch their noses and accept it.

Angel did not expect Vannerson to gripe about his naming ability internally.

But his naming this time, while seemingly arbitrary, actually had some internal logic. He named it according to the formula that had inspired him.

The formula that inspired Angel was called “Spirit Transmitting Diamondʼs Spirit Receiving Formula.”

“Spirit Transmitting Diamondʼs Spirit Receiving Formula” and “Demon Blood Energy Transmutation Formula” went well together. Both names were straightforward, making the content they aimed to prove clear at a glance.

Having confirmed the name of the Alchemy Formula, Angel turned to Vannerson: “Any other questions?”

Vannerson nodded, thanked Angel again for the clarification, and then sat down.

After the Q&A session ended, Angel continued his lecture, dissecting and breaking down from a large topic “Interaction between Energy and Matter,” and eventually transitioning to the main topic of the day: “Alchemical Illusion.”

Due to the impressive formula demonstration earlier, no one doubted Angelʼs abilities anymore.

When they set aside their biases and genuinely listened to Angelʼs lesson, they became more and more captivated, even though the topic discussed, Alchemical Illusion, was relatively unfamiliar to them.

Angel did not possess the quirky temper common among Alchemists – he would not mock or scorn periodically, nor would he intentionally omit key information, leaving the students to guess on their own.

Except for things that needed to be intuitively understood, Angel explained the main points in plain language, supplemented with his own viewpoints.

This style of narration inevitably reminded people of Master Midora, and subconsciously improved their perception of Angel. Midoraʼs status in Ashiliye could be said to be at the peak, and was even more respected than the inspirational tales told by Muse, the head of the Reformist School.

Time ticked away bit by bit.

While everyone was still being involuntarily swept away in the dance of his words, wandering through the halls of unknown knowledge, Angel suddenly stopped.

All eyes turned to Angel in confusion.

“Letʼs conclude the main topic of this class here.”

While a sense of regret and loss appeared in the studentsʼ eyes, Angel was estimating in his heart whether he had lectured long enough to accumulate sufficient points.

He remembered Anthony saying that points were awarded based on effective duration; a typical class could earn 2-3 points, while a higher amount could be more than 5 points.

Angel didnʼt think he would score very high, two points would be enough.

However, he was unsure how points were calculated. Should effective duration refer to the length of time? He checked the time; he had lectured for two hours and wondered if that was sufficient.

Or should he drag on the class a bit longer?

With this thought, Angel continued: “Although we have covered the main topic, itʼs hard for you to understand just from the theory. Let me give you a firsthand experience of the Alchemical Illusion.”

As he spoke, Angel took out a peculiar box.

“This box is called ʼCage of Shadows,ʼ and it is a special theatrical play device,” Angel introduced.

A theatrical play device? Everyone was hearing about this for the first time and looked curiously at the box in his palm.

The box was square, but it had a trumpet-like decoration on it.

Most of those present were Alchemists, and from the material, the ʼCage of Shadowsʼ was not made of particularly good material, mostly ungraded. However, the final product was graded, which showed that the refinerʼs skills were very high.

From an aesthetic perspective, the box also looked quite nice, but it remained to be seen what the effects would be.

“Next, you will experience a very simple Alchemical Illusion. Do not resist; this illusion wonʼt affect your emotions or energy. You can observe the Alchemical Illusion to recall what Iʼve discussed earlier.”

After he finished speaking, Angel fondly stroked the trumpet-shaped decoration on the box.

Immediately after, a strange instrumental sound abruptly began to play.

This instrumental sound, with its prolonged notes, did not carry any hint of beauty; instead, it induced a chilling, spine-tingling sensation.

It was like being trapped in a muddy puddle on a gloomy, stormy night, hopelessly struggling for breath; or like fingernails scraping across a smooth chalkboard, the shrill sound caused oppression in oneʼs heart.

As time passed, everyone felt the instrumental sound reach a climax before it gradually faded away. But this fading was not a decrease in volume. Instead, the sound seemed to be growing more distant…

When the sound completely disappeared, the circular classroom they were in also gradually vanished from sight, and the surroundings became a blur of light and shadow.

When everyone came to their senses, they found themselves in a quiet, dimly lit town under the night sky.
