Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1535: Section 1536 Hot Topics Chapter 1535: Section 1536 Hot Topics Farewell to the drizzly month of midsummer, soon comes the month of flowing fire. In this neither warm nor fiery season, the much-anticipated New Star Competition, prepared for several years, finally officially begins.

For the spectators, the first day of the New Star competition is extremely exciting, not only for its dramatic fluctuations but also for its bright spots.

Nearly everywhere–on the field, in taverns, and any other populated area–people are currently discussing mainly three things.

The first thing is the most exciting match of the day.

“Twilight Glow” Xili against “Cold Eyed Cat” Yehe.

Xiliʼs background is unknown, a very gloomy woman, constantly enshrouded in a dark aura, but her eyes occasionally flash with light, and she is always muttering “hope”. Itʼs like a believer yearning for the light of hope in the deepest darkness.

“Cold Eyed Cat” Yehe, on the other hand, hails from Winter Academy, and his character matches his name, despite his handsome stature, his gaze is exceedingly cold. Like a cat, aloof, elegant, noble, and distinctly distant from others.

The strength of both competitors is at the pinnacle of apprentices, Xiliʼs power is very bizarre, at times gloomy, at times radiant, as if standing between light and darkness at the same time. Yehe is no less inferior; his understanding of his own bloodline has reached a state that even an Official Wizard would find astonishing, his transformation into a black cat almost achieving a full beast form.

Although Yehe, as a bloodline fighter, holds an advantage in a competition amongst peers, the power unleashed by Xili is simply terrifying.

The abilities of both are perfectly matched, making the fierceness of the competition silence the entire audience, afraid to disturb the players; every clash made everyone so tense their toes were even curled up.

Clearly, this was a thrilling match.

The only regret is that the final outcome was somewhat unexpected.

At the end of the match, Xili suddenly conceded defeat and left without looking back. “Cold Eyed Cat” Yehe thus won the match.

There is a rumor that Xili conceded to conserve her strength for upcoming matches.

Others say she was completely exhausted, realizing that she could not win the following matches and preferred to save some face by conceding.

The latter rumor is more believable because the match had gone on for nearly an hour by the time Xili conceded, and both sides had nearly exhausted their resources. Yehe, as a bloodline competitor, obviously could have sustained for a longer time, and perhaps Xili saw this and chose to concede.

However, rumors are just rumors, and no one can know the true situation. The only certainty is that “Cold Eyed Cat” Yehe was very dissatisfied with his opponentʼs concession, showing his frustration in his subsequent matches where his opponents did not even get a chance to speak.

Although Xili conceded voluntarily, this match is still regarded as the most exciting match of the day, providing great satisfaction to the audience, even if the outcome was a bit disappointing; but life is full of disappointments, being satisfied with the process is already quite difficult.

The second hot topic is also a match.

Although not as tense as Xiliʼs match against Yehe, it has its highlights. This match is the showcase match of the New Star competition–Spring Waltz versus The Deceiver.

Overall, the match was somewhat bland, except for some highlights from The Deceiver at the beginning, but generally one-sided afterward. However, Spring Waltzʼs consistent practice of battle aesthetics throughout the match beautified it into a dreamlike fantasy, earning it much praise.

Moreover, almost all the spectators are Transcendents, who are no fools and can naturally see the intention behind the official organization of such a showcase match.

Spring Waltz was already recognized by everyone as the winner before the match started. With this mindset, it was much more relaxed, treating it as an opportunity to appreciate the beautiful art of battle aesthetics, and it was worth the price of admission.

The third hot topic is todayʼs biggest highlight.

A person who has been at the peak of public opinion–Angel, finally made an appearance.

Moreover, the moment Fuyi appeared, it was as an Official Wizard, accompanied by members of the Research and Development Institute, making a grand entrance at the biggest event in recent years in Sky Mechanical City. In everyoneʼs eyes, Angelʼs appearance was cloaked in supreme glory.

His appearance solidified all kinds of speculations from the past days.

Causing countless people who bet against his advancement to be deeply regretful. At the same time, it made the apprentices who emerged alongside him feel ashamed.

In this era teeming with talent, he was like a standard-bearer. In the upcoming dark and chaotic times, he became a beacon in the eyes of all apprentices pursuing the path of the Wizard.

Regardless of whether these people envied him, cursed him, discussed him, or adored him, he had already far surpassed them…

However, the fervor of the outside worldʼs discussions was not important to Angel, as he had already left the bustling main city district and arrived alone at Ashliea Comprehensive College.

Angel stood in the center of the domed circular classroom, surrounded by tiers of circular seating extending upwards.

The seats were not filled; they were sparse.

It wasnʼt that no one came to attend Angelʼs class, but rather because Angel strictly limited the number of people in the classroom to fifty.

This circular classroom could accommodate nearly five hundred people, and there were over three hundred seats. Distributing them among fifty people naturally made it seem sparse.

Angel looked around; among these fifty people, there were several familiar faces, such as Baroqueʼs disciple, the Chuunibyou youth Glenn. And for example, a man currently sitting in the front row of the circular seats, vigorously waving at Angel.

This was a somewhat messy person, with exploded gray hair, goggles with several layers of halos, and a crumpled Alchemy robe, clearly an unkempt Alchemist full of “homebody” vibes.

This person was called Niroson, and he had a brief acquaintance with Angel.

Originally, when Angel wanted to pass through Sanders to save Jon and return to Flourish Continent, Suise was responsible for sending him over, though due to the impending Spatial Fusion, the space near Pamiji Plateau was unstable, so Suise only managed to transfer him to the vicinity of Pamiji Plateau in the Airee Duchy.

Angel, together with Duru and other Talented Ones, took a gondola from Airee Duchy to Pamiji Plateau but encountered someone on the way who controlled an Alchemy Golem and wanted to hijack the gondola.

This person was Niroson.

Niroson recognized Angelʼs identity and abandoned the idea of hijacking, instead engaging in a discussion about Alchemy with him.

“Back then, I even suggested you come to Ashliea to study, but now youʼve already started teaching, sigh,” Niroson lamented when he saw Angel looking over.

Angel nodded to indicate that he heard him because he didnʼt immediately converse with Niroson in the classroom.

There were still a few minutes before the class began, and Angel continued observing the group that had grabbed the opportunity to attend the class.

What made him slightly regretful was that despite many familiar faces, these people… largely did not specialize in Enchantment Alchemy.

For instance, Niroson, who was a student of Mechanical Alchemy and most skilled in dealing with Alchemy Golems.

Like Glenn, Angel had not even heard that Glenn practiced Alchemy.

The only one Angel had met and could confirm was studying Enchantment was a female apprentice named Boli.

Initially, in Nail Grannyʼs Alchemy Shop, he had seen Boli debating Alchemy with others.

Other people, as Angel looked around, from their Alchemy robes, it was evident they either specialized in Mechanical Alchemy or Blending, some even mixed with studying Potionology.

Angel massaged his temples, feeling a headache. Thankfully, he had revisited the Alchemy books he recorded in the Nightmare Realm these past few days; otherwise, just lecturing on Enchantment Alchemy might leave the audience baffled.

Of course, Angel still planned to primarily discuss Enchantment.

Although he possessed vast knowledge, when it came to other types of Alchemy, he only had theoretical knowledge and still focused on Enchantment. However, since there were too many people at the scene who were completely clueless about Enchantment, he planned to talk about topics slightly related to Enchantment but mainly about Alchemy Techniques itself.

For example, the Alchemical Illusion Angel was most familiar with.

Alchemical Illusion, though a fusion of Illusion Technique and Alchemy, focused not on the Illusion Technique but on the technique of fusing energy itself with Alchemy. After all, not everyone could perform Illusion Techniques.

Angel decided to start from the basics to the complex, unraveling everything from key points to difficulties.
