Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1502: Section 1503 Categories Chapter 1502: Section 1503 Categories “Illusion Demon is right, this Transforming Soft-bodied Insect conforms to the traits of skin property modification and possesses special spatial energy. Therefore, disregard its appearance; it is certainly a Transforming Soft-bodied Insect,” Moriya continued, “After confirming its identity, then consider its quality.”

“Generally speaking, a newly born Transforming Soft-bodied Insect cannot fully manifest its transforming abilities yet, only able to make partial changes. However, the better the quality of the Transforming Soft-bodied Insect, the sooner its transformation ability manifests.”

“From what youʼve mentioned, this Transforming Soft-bodied Insect has been in its current form since birth, beginning to consciously change its shape. It is clear that its quality is absolutely the best of its kind.”

Angel was startled, “Do you mean that its current shape is modified, and its real appearance is not like this?”

But Moriya nodded and then shook her head, “According to the standards, this indeed is not its real appearance. However, in its own mind, it definitely believes this is its real appearance.”

“Because it takes the initial image of the Pliant Worm mother as its basis, the first thing it contacted was the mother worm, so it believes it has grown into the shape of the mother worm, thus changing its body shape accordingly.”

“Regardless of whatever form it considers as its original, it doesnʼt matter. After all, you just need to know it is a Transforming Soft-bodied Insect; the rest is not important.”

After Moriyaʼs explanation, Angel finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He hadnʼt expected that Hua Que and Popota, the siblings, would not only breed a Transforming Soft-bodied Insect but one of the best quality.

Using Popotaʼs qualification to Enter the Wilderness of Dreams to exchange for such a top-tier Transforming Soft-bodied Insect seems, in hindsight, not only fair but actually a huge gain!

“I seem to have heard that Transforming Soft-bodied Insects are now extinct in the Southern Domain. How did you get one, and moreover, of such good quality?” Lady Kimberly curiously asked.

Moriya replied, “He already mentioned it, this is a newly born Transforming Soft-bodied Insect, donʼt you understand?”

Lady Kimberly was stunned for a moment, “You have a mother worm?”

Since Angel has consulted them, he naturally didnʼt intend to hide it, “Yes.”

Lady Kimberlyʼs eyes lit up, “Thatʼs great, if next time you can breed such quality Transforming Soft-bodied Insects, perhaps consider selling to me first?”

“Does Lady Kimberly also need it?” Angel asked in confusion.

Kimberly shook her head, “I donʼt need it, but I also have students.”

Angel pondered for a while, “The next one might not be possible, I once promised Lord Kanter that if I breed a Transforming Soft-bodied Insect, the second one would be reserved for him.”

After all, the Pliant Worm nest and the mother wormʼs eggs were gifts from Kanter to Angel.

Hearing this, Kimberly suddenly went silent, then said after a long while, “Kanter, are you talking about that mess of an old man from the House of Lilith?”

Seeing Kimberlyʼs reaction, Angel suddenly recalled that Sanders once mentioned that Kimberly and Kanter seemed to have a special relationship that outsiders have speculated about but the parties themselves have never disclosed.

From Kimberlyʼs reaction, it seemed it wasnʼt a good idea to mention Kanter in front of her.

However, since he already mentioned it, Angel could only feign ignorance, pretending he didnʼt know there was anything fishy between Kimberly and Kanter, since he had just recently advanced and knew very little, which fits his persona.

“Yes, it is indeed the Night Kanter. Does Lady Kimberly also know Lord Kanter?” Angel looked innocently at Kimberly.

Kimberly didnʼt answer, instead Moriya covered her mouth and chuckled lightly, “They are not just acquaintances.”

Kimberly frowned slightly at Moriya, who shrugged and indicated she would say no more.

Angel pretended not to hear Moriyaʼs words and continued to feign ignorance with a smile.

“Kanter has implanted Transforming Soft-bodied Insect skin, he himself does not need it. So, is it for his apprentice?” Kimberly, seeing Angel nod, fell silent for a while and asked, “I heard his current apprentice is Heidiʼs daughter?”

“Yes.” Qi Liʼs mother is indeed called Heidi, also from the House of Lilith.

“I didnʼt expect Heidiʼs daughter to have also entered the Wizardsʼ Realm,” Kimberly remarked emotionally, “How is she doing?”

Angel briefly described Qi Liʼs situation, and Kimberly paid particular attention to Qi Liʼs Autism. Angel specifically elaborated on Qi Liʼs personality, including the causes and her current condition.

“Having witnessed her parents killed by Florenza, no wonder she has psychological issues,” Kimberly sighed, “Qi Li is also a pitiful child.”

“Although Kanter is a bit stubborn, he is very kind to Qi Li. Itʼs good for you to reserve one Transforming Soft-bodied Insect for her.”

Since hearing about Qi Li and Kanter, Kimberlyʼs interest in Transforming Soft-bodied Insects waned, and she spoke no more on the subject.

Angel thanked Kimberly and Moriya, then left.

Back in his own chamber, Angel released Popota and Hua Que and first communicated the conclusions to them. Hua Que and Popota both laughed joyfully, as this was a result of their joint efforts, naturally making them happy.

However, the happiness didnʼt last long, leaving only a deep sense of loneliness after its fleeting moment.

Confirming that the snotty monster was indeed a Transforming Soft-bodied Insect also meant that the siblings, who had just been reunited, would soon part.

Looking at the siblingsʼ deep reluctance in their eyes, Angel softly said, “Tomorrow I will leave Black Castle.”

That is to say, today is the last time the siblings will be together.

Angel didnʼt interrupt them, leaving them in peace to share their sorrowful farewells.

Just as Angel closed the door to the quiet room, a gray shadow suddenly flew towards him. He instinctively wanted to react, but upon clearly seeing the true form of the gray shadow, his body relaxed and he allowed the shadow to crash onto his cheek.

The fuzzy little head rubbed against his face. Then, standing proudly on his shoulder like a proud soldier, in todayʼs leather armor, it indeed had a majestic air.

This little one was Toby.

Before heading to the testing ground, to prevent any accidents during the experiment, Angel handed Toby, who was still drunk, to Greya for care.

He left the quiet room primarily to check on Toby with Greya, but unexpectedly, Toby flew back on its own.

Touching Tobyʼs head, Angel walked along the corridor towards the main hall. Since Toby had returned, Greya should be there as well.

Indeed, as Angel arrived at the hall, he saw Greya and Sanders sitting on a sofa, seemingly having a conversation.

When Angel sat down, he caught Sanders talking about his previous solo exploration of the Nightmare Realm to check on Greyaʼs physical body.

After Sanders finished speaking, Greyaʼs face turned very grim. Given Sandersʼ understanding of the Nightmare Realm and his strength, the fact that he experienced extensive memory loss after venturing into the Nightmare Realm attested to its peril.

Given this situation, retrieving her own body would be extremely difficult.

After a moment of silence, Sanders looked at Angel: “Are you sure?”

Angel nodded.

“So, when do you plan to leave?”

“Tomorrow.”

Sanders nodded, then looked at Greya: “You heard, we will leave Black Castle tomorrow. What are your plans? I still suggest that next time I explore the Nightmare Realm, you come with me first to get accustomed to it.”

Greya thought for a moment and nodded, “Okay, Iʼll leave with you tomorrow.”

Because the topic was so heavy, Greya didnʼt want the atmosphere to remain bogged down in this mood, so she changed the subject and began talking to Angel about Tobyʼs situation.

Toby actually woke up five days ago.

The focus of Greyaʼs discussion was not when Toby woke up, but rather its behavior after waking.

“It usually doesnʼt seem affected by the Extreme Resentment Thoughts, but, thatʼs just the surface.”

In Greyaʼs account, Angel gradually learned that in everyday life, Tobyʼs behavior was indeed no different than usual. However, during these five days, Toby fell into deep sleep twice, and each time it woke up, there was a momentary change in its eyes, filled with resentment, jealousy, and anger.

But this emotion was fleeting.

As if in that moment, Tobyʼs body was controlled by another violent soul.

Afterwards, once Toby fully woke up, that condition would disappear.

Greya: “Iʼve asked Toby, and it doesnʼt know whatʼs happening either. I guess it might be the suppressed Extreme Resentment Thoughts subtly causing trouble.”

Angel held Toby in his palm, carefully observing its crimson eyes.

At this moment, Tobyʼs gaze was very clear, clean, and pure.

Itʼs difficult to fake such a look and based on what Angel knew about Toby, it should truly reflect its genuine self.

However, the situation described by Greya also must be taken seriously, the stirring of Extreme Resentment Thoughts is certain, transforming into its form in Tobyʼs dreams to lead it astray, which Angel had witnessed himself.

What could be done now was merely using external means, like guiding Toby to enter the Wilderness of Dreams whenever it felt sleepy, to prevent influence from the Extreme Resentment Thoughts.

But to truly solve the root issue, Toby had to overcome the Extreme Resentment Thoughts by itself.

Since Greya was going to join them, it was possible to have Greya train Toby, trying to enable it to overcome the Extreme Resentment Thoughts.

After finishing discussing Tobyʼs situation, Greya intended to leave and return tomorrow.

Thatʼs when Angel suddenly said, “A few days ago, I refined a little gadget, and since Greya is here, why not take a look?”

Greya, who was about to leave, stopped in her tracks.

“Little gadget?” Sanders looked curiously towards Angel. “When did you refine it?”

“During the time at the testing ground, waiting for Hua Queʼs results, I was bored and refined it casually.” Angel said, while pulling out a weird box with trumpet flowers.

“This is it, I call it the Cage of Shadows, a special device for playing theatrical dramas.”
