Chapter 1519: Section 1520 Mushroom Witch Chapter 1519: Section 1520 Mushroom Witch “Angel is completely unaware; does Tugan know that although Shan looks like a child on the outside, she is actually older than Nausicaa due to some special reason?”

Midora cursed under his breath for quite a while, then sighed, “Itʼs actually good that Tugan isnʼt here; if he were, upon seeing you arrive here, he would probably start nagging you to help him refine clothes. At least, now heʼs just mumbling about the unattainable Princess Shan.”

Speaking of Tugan, one cannot avoid mentioning his true Mentor.

“Is there any news about Bogura now?” Angel asked. Bogura had entered the Abyss of Magic quite a while ago; when Midora had traveled from Sky Mechanical City to Black Castle, he had warned Angel that ripples from the Magical Core had conveyed pheromonal signals from Bogura.

Once Bogura leaves the Magical Core, he must have become a True Knowledge Wizard.

Bogura also has a feud with the people of Illusion Demon Island, and his coerced entrance into the Magical Core was related to Sanders. Thus, it is very likely that upon his return, he would cause trouble for them.

Midora shook his head: “No, but according to Rosen, Bogura isnʼt far from coming out.”

Pausing for a moment, Midora added, “But you donʼt need to worry now; with your strength, even if Bogura leaves the Abyss of Magic and seeks revenge on you, you… can hold out until your mentor comes to rescue you.”

Angel: “…” He thought that Midora would say he neednʼt fear Bogura with his strength.

However, Angel felt confident that even if Bogura truly sought revenge, with his current physical robustness, he could hold on for a very long time – and if not, he could still escape through The Gate of Void.

Midora: “Moreover, I heard that Barbarian Cave has sent a formidable person over this time; with him around, you donʼt need to worry about Bogura laying a hand on you.”

Midoraʼs words startled Angel: “Barbarian Cave sent someone here?”

Midora: “By becoming a member of the Research and Development Institute, you essentially bonded the relationship between Barbarian Cave and the Institute. It is certain that Barbarian Cave would send someone.”

Not only will they send someone, but Barbarian Cave will also send higher-order personnel to station at Sky Mechanical City.

After all, with Angel becoming a member of the Research and Development Institute, this would also promote the development of alchemy at Barbarian Cave, leading to more alchemists advancing their skills in Sky Mechanical City in the future. Those stationed in Sky Mechanical City also have the obligation to protect the alchemists who are here to learn.

Alchemists are indispensable, precious talents for any organization, so the stationʼs leader must possess significant strength.

Angel nodded his head in understanding; he originally wanted to ask who exactly from Barbarian Cave was sent, but then he thought better of it.

No matter who it was, he would eventually meet them, especially since they were coming for the Instituteʼs affairs.

After discussing Tugan and Bogura, Angel then asked about teaching.

“So youʼve finally decided to start teaching?” Midora was somewhat surprised since the last time he discussed teaching with Angel, Angel seemed indifferent.

Angel somewhat sheepishly disclosed his lack of credits.

“I see, but itʼs good either way; teaching has no drawbacks for you, and during the lessons, some alchemists might lack skills, but their ideas could greatly inspire you.”

After sighing, Midora began explaining some rules about teaching.

Though called ʼrules,ʼ they are not necessarily mandatory but rather generally accepted informal guidelines.

Like for instance, Midora talked about the timing of classes; according to the usual practice, itʼs best to announce you are holding a class several days before it starts, giving interested alchemists time to choose their courses, so they wouldnʼt miss it due to haste.

Of course, this is just a default rule. You could also not announce it beforehand, start the class immediately, and let attendees come by fate; that works too. However, according to Midora, such a method of teaching is “soulless.”

According to Midoraʼs understanding, his teaching isnʼt just about imparting experience; he hopes to receive feedback from the attendees, even enlightenment. Impromptu classes would make it difficult to select alchemists capable of generating sparks of ideas.

When itʼs announced in advance, people who are interested and willing to listen, will come based on the content of the class, naturally filtering out those who are completely unfamiliar. This way, the chances of intellectual sparks occurring are also increased.

“However, if you are purely doing it for credits, you can still teach on an impromptu basis; Iʼm just offering my suggestion.”

After pondering for a while, Angel decided to adopt Midoraʼs approach to class timing.

Not because of Midoraʼs saying “Impromptu teaching is soulless.”

But because he would probably stay in Sky Mechanical City during the duration of the Nova competition, so he still had at least half a month there.

Since he had so much time, he felt no need to conduct his classes haphazardly.

Next, Midora continued to explain: “No matter when you choose to teach your class, itʼs best to avoid the time slots of other members of the Research and Development Institute. Firstly, this allows those choosing which class to attend to do so without dilemma; secondly, it also avoids offending other members.”

Although clashing courses isnʼt a big issue, not everyone is open-minded, and a seemingly minor detail that you disregard could cause other members to hold a grudge against you.

Even if the members of the Research and Development Institute already have various disharmonious relationships, Midora still advocates avoiding conflict wherever possible.

This point served as a caution for Angel, as he remembered Nail Granny mentioning that Water Pattern Witch would be teaching in these days, so it would be best to avoid clashing with her.

Midora paused: “Of course, if Mentor Muse and Regina are teaching, you donʼt need to worry about clashing with them.”

Angel was momentarily stunned. Muse was the dean of the Research and Development Institute, and it seemed Regina was also a member–why werenʼt these two a concern?

Midora explained: “This brings us to the content of the classes.”

The content of the classes isnʼt fixed. Of course, itʼs best to inform attendees about the content in advance, so they have time to prepare. Also, it helps them avoid attending a boring class.

“The so-called boring classes refer to those of Mentor Muse,” Midora sighed, “When Mentor Muse teaches, he seldom discusses Alchemy knowledge. His content typically follows a three-part format.”

“The first part, he shares his own sorrowful experiences from the first half of his life, generating sympathy from the audience. The second part, based on his tragic past, he talks about his successes, stirring enthusiasm among the attendees. The third part is a brief summary.”

After hearing all this, Angel had nothing but question marks in his mind: “And thatʼs it?”

Midora nodded: “Yes, thatʼs it. Moreover, the experiences Mentor Muse shares in the first two parts are always different. Sometimes, he talks about his childhood as an orphan, living a life of destitution; sometimes, as a gardenerʼs son bullied by nobility; even a tragic Cinderella tormented by a cruel stepmother…”

Cinderella? The dean?

“Is Mentor Muse deceiving people?”

Midora shook his head: “He isnʼt deceiving anyone; he just reads from a book called ʼInspirational Figuresʼ during each class, recounting one motivational story after another. I once asked the dean why he puts himself as the subject, and he said it was to create empathy among the students.”

Midora added: “So, you donʼt need to worry about clashing with him, he doesnʼt mind. Moreover, Mentor Muse doesnʼt hold classes frequently–just once every two or three years. Every time thereʼs anticipation, but often people leave disappointed.”

Angel listened vaguely, knowing that Mentor Muse had a habit of ʼsplit personalityʼ, but he didnʼt realize Muse was practicing ʼempathyʼ to cultivate his ʼsplit personality.ʼ

“As for Regina… no need to worry about clashing with her class either,” Midora mentioned Regina, his expression slightly strange.

“Is her class content similar to Mentor Museʼs?” Angel asked.

Midora shook his head: “Not the same, but it wonʼt be very beneficial to you.”

“You might have heard of Reginaʼs nickname, ʼMushroom Witch.ʼ She is an extremely skilled Potionology Alchemy Master. Especially when it comes to plant-based potionology, Iʼm far inferior to her.” After briefly introducing Reginaʼs background, Midora continued: “Reginaʼs specialty is cultivating mushrooms, using mushrooms to create various potions.”

“The content of her classes also relates to mushrooms. However, itʼs mostly about how to… handle mushrooms.”

“Handle mushrooms?” Angel didnʼt quite understand. Was this ʼhandlingʼ what he thought it meant?

Midora, with a strange expression, pointed at the soup in everyoneʼs bowl: “This is the method taught by Regina.”

Angel smelled the strong mushroom aroma in the air: “…”

So, this ʼhandlingʼ means cooking? Then why isnʼt the Gourmet Sorcerer teaching it?

“Every time Regina holds a class, Yeliya always attends,” Midora explained, mumbling softly: “I also attended a few sessions. Honestly, itʼs not bad; occasionally, she still touches on some key points about using mushrooms to refine potions.”

“Because the content of her classes is not largely connected to Alchemy, she makes it clear that her class only teaches how to handle mushrooms. So clashing with her class isnʼt really a big deal.”

Angel nodded, feeling somewhat enlightened. Museʼs and Reginaʼs classes made him understand more clearly the freedom in selecting class content.

However, as the Alchemy Holy Land, teaching here should still primarily focus on Alchemy. If classes were as casual as those of Muse and Regina, the credit earned would almost be null.

Midora then went on to talk about issues related to class registration, content selection, and more, all of which Angel noted down carefully.

In conclusion, including all the preparatory issues related to teaching, these could be handled by Antonio. What Angel needed to do was choose the content to teach.

As for the final calculation of credits, it is based on effective duration, which Angel need not worry about.
