Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1526: Section 1527 Boundless Battle Arena Chapter 1526: Section 1527 Boundless Battle Arena Upon hearing the name Houston, Angel paused for a moment.

He was no stranger to Houston.

Houston was an employee at Barbie Restaurant and was also known as the Eyeless Man.

After Greyaʼs incident, the staff of Barbie Restaurant were forced to scatter because all the employees were Gourmet Sorcerers, resulting in some being captured to serve as private chefs and even sold as slaves.

Houston was one of them.

After being captured, he was put up for auction at the Twilight Auction.

The reason Angel initially caused a commotion at the Twilight Auction was because Toby saw Houston being sold in a cage and went mad, and Angel acted for Toby, nearly leading to the downfall of Night Demon City.

Unfortunately, Houston was not rescued.

Houston was eventually bought by “Blazing Red Lotus” Lydia.

“I made an agreement with Lydia before, that I could buy back Houston from her,” Angel paused, “I havenʼt forgotten about it. Once things here settle down, Iʼll go to fulfill that original promise.”

Greya also knew about this matter and nodded to Angel, “Thank you, I will prepare the Magic Crystals that she wants.”

Originally, Greya planned to rescue Houston herself, but since she currently lacked a physical body and was in a precarious situation, rescuing Houston was not simple. She opted for a trade, thus asking Felicia to contact Lydia. Unfortunately, two days ago, Felicia relayed that Lydia did not agree to the trade.

Thus, the matter had to turn back to Angel, as the trade was initially discussed between Lydia and Angel.

This prompted Greya to discreetly mention the matter.

Greya felt somewhat embarrassed, as it was her own employee yet she had to trouble Angel.

Angel didnʼt mind, as since he had initiated this transaction, he felt obligated to conclude it, showing consistency. Moreover, the Eyeless Man had a familial significance to Toby.

“Speaking of Houston, it reminds me of seeing ʼSticky Birdʼ Neo and ʼSoup Meerkatʼ Eiyu and others at Barbie Restaurant before. How are they doing now? Also, when are you planning to reopen Barbie Restaurant?” Angel asked while adjusting his tie in the water mirror.

“Neo and Eiyu have both returned to Candy House. As for the other employees, those whose whereabouts could be found, have either returned, have been captured like Houston, or… have already died.” Greyaʼs eyes dimmed: “Even if Barbie Restaurant is to reopen, it would probably have to wait until I retrieve my physical body.”

Whether Greya could successfully retrieve her body from the realm surrounded by legendary Magical Creatures, the Nightmare Realm, she wasnʼt certain herself.

Greya: “Letʼs not talk about me, letʼs talk about you.”

Angel glanced back at Greya: “Me? Whatʼs there to talk about?”

“I heard from Master Midora that youʼve chosen a nickname?” Greya asked curiously.

A few days ago, Dean Sherry and Master Midora visited the estate, where Dean Sherry asked Angel to increase the number of students in his class, which Angel naturally refused.

Midoraʼs visit was unrelated to the classes but to discuss the content Angel was preparing to teach.

When Midora left, Greya had a private discussion with him due to her soul needing potion support for better embodiment with her body.

Greya and Midora discussed not just potions but also other matters, including Angel acting as a special judge.

Midora revealed that Angel had seemingly registered a new nickname on an access card at the Research and Development Institute with Antonio.

Therefore, Greya was curious.

Angel hesitated for a moment, then nodded, “Sort of.”

Although nicknames are not mandatory for wizards, Angelʼs popularity persisted in Sky Mechanical City, and strange nicknames like ʼMusic Box Sorcererʼ could be heard wherever he went.

Especially, when Angel last visited Fangling Hall and heard Shan discussing the deeds of the “Milk Baron” with her brother Lyon. Although not named explicitly, Lyon understood Angelʼs tastes too well and often gave him peculiar looks.

To avoid such shameful and embarrassing situations, Angel decided to take this opportunity to establish a new nickname.

“So, what is the nickname?” Greya asked curiously.

Angel did not answer but waved his hand to dissipate the water mirror and prepared to leave the room.

Greya followed, looking at Angel suspiciously: “I heard from your mentor that you have poor taste in naming, could it be that you are too embarrassed to say it?”

Angel paused: “I think my nickname should sound better than ʼDiamond Barbieʼ.”

As Greya narrowed her eyes showing a dangerous expression, Angel added: “Anyway, when I go to be a special judge, it will be displayed on the light screen, and you will know it then.”

Angel left the manor alone, preparing to head to the Infinite Battle Tower.

Before going to the Infinite Battle Tower, Angel first opened a door that connected to the Manshi Magic Material Street.

Due to the official start of the Nova Competition, Manshi Magic Material Street was very quiet, with only a few people passing by. Angel boldly opened the Gate of Void in the middle of the street, and no one noticed, not even the usual Magic Energy Eyes patrolling the airspace were scarce.

He walked into the Nail Grannyʼs Alchemy House.

The Alchemy House was still empty; it had been deserted a few days ago because Angel started teaching, causing everyone to rush for his classes, and the Nail Alchemy House ended up empty. Today, as the Nova Competition started, everyone flocked to the Infinite Battle Tower, leaving this place still deserted.

Although there was no one on the first floor, a faint scent of floral tea drifted from the second floor.

When Angel reached the second floorʼs hall, a gentle voice reached his ears: “Wizard Pat, youʼve arrived.”

Angel looked towards the voice and saw the Water Pattern Witch Farina, sitting and chatting over tea with Nail Granny at the table.

“I handled some matters, sorry to keep you waiting.” Angel apologized.

Since Farina was also one of the judges for the preliminary round, they had arranged to meet here and go together to the Infinite Battle Tower.

“We still have an hour before the competition officially begins, weʼre not late,” Farina suddenly paused, her gaze noticing Angelʼs attire, her eyes twinkling.

“Iʼm starting to wonder, does the Illusion Demon Island recruit people based on appearance? I think, Wizard Pat, today you might enchant many young girls in spring.”

Angel smiled politely: “If appearance were the standard for recruiting in Illusion Demon Island, I believe Miss Farinaʼs position would definitely be higher than mine if she were in Illusion Demon Island.”

This was not just a compliment; even though Farina always wore a thin veil, the glimpses of her eyes and eyebrows were already stunning.

Farina covered her mouth and chuckled: “You know how to speak much better than your mentor.”

Farina put down her tea cup and stood up: “Since you are here, letʼs head over now.”

After bidding farewell to Nail Granny, Angel and Farina flew towards the Infinite Battle Tower. Both being members of the Research and Development Institute, they inherently had special privileges, so even if the Magic Energy Eyes above saw them, they ignored them.

Soon, they saw the towering structure piercing into the clouds, its top point out of sight.

The tower had a very distinct shape; from afar, its width was narrow both at the top and bottom, but around the middle, specifically around the 100th floor of the Infinite Battle Tower, it was the widest.

Their final landing spot was also on this widest level.

Stepping into the mist, they landed on the ascent platform. Farina led Angel into the tower, explaining as they walked: “This level is also called the heart of the Infinite Battle Tower. The biggest arena of all–the Boundless Battle Arena–is located here.”

The so-called Boundless Battle Arena was a bit like a magical space. The arena itself was a large open area that will alter its terrain based on certain preconditions for each competition. Like a Rubikʼs cube, just one twist, and it becomes an entirely different world.

Whether it was the land of volcanic Magma, or dense jungles, deep ocean trenches, barren wastelands, or even a pure vacuum arena, all were available in the magical space of the Boundless Battle Arena.

Because the maintenance and activation of the Boundless Battle Arena were costly, it was generally not open unless it was a battle between Official Wizards.

This time, for the Nova Competition, it was an exception. Several matches were to be held in the Boundless Battle Arena, with the preliminaries and finals definitely taking place here, and depending on the situation, any particularly important matches might also be arranged here.
