Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 2169: Chapter 22: Swear!

This palm is white and soft, but Jia Rong wouldn’t notice these details at first; he would naturally know that it was his mother’s, or rather, Samo Ling’s finger.

”Xiao Rong, don’t blame your father, he really had his difficulties...”

Samo Ling felt helpless in her heart.

She knew she had made a mistake back then. She was too young, and for the people of the Biochemical Empire, two individuals combining to create a child through biochemical means was just like how Earth people treat their own flesh and blood. Unfortunately, this was an unacceptable concept for Earth people, or for most cosmic people.

And in such a situation, due to cultural differences, she gave birth to Jia Rong.

It’s important to know that the stronger a creature is, the harder it is to produce offspring. For example, Evolutionary Creatures with excellent talent rarely have offspring. This should be something determined by the mysterious rules of the universe.

So, Samo Ling back then just wanted to give it a try, and she succeeded. For people in the Biochemical Star Region, this felt like destiny’s arrangement. With probabilities so astronomically low, she succeeded on the first try. Was it not the arrangement of the heavens?

Thus, she came to Earth, ready to spend a lifetime with Jia Yan.

Unfortunately, after understanding the customs of Earth, she realized that her thoughts were something fundamentally unacceptable for Earth people, or Jia Yan.

Now, the fact that Jia Yan can tolerate her actions, even allowing mother and son to be together at home for so many years and providing protection, is already an extremely masculine gesture.

”The events of those years... Mother, you’ve talked about those events many times, but you never tell me what really happened. How am I supposed to believe you?”

Jia Rong let out a bitter laugh. Although he had heard his mother mention those events many times and the decisions made back then, he never truly knew what happened.

So, he assumed it was Jia Yan’s fault. The hatred in his heart, like a seed, grew even though he also believed that aside from this event, Jia Yan was a good person, even a hero of great stature.

And now he was hearing that there were hidden truths? Then what was all the hatred and animosity from his birth until now for?

Although calling it hatred isn’t entirely accurate, his emotions are complex.

”In the future, when the opportunity arises, I will tell you...”

Samo Ling felt that the events of those years, even Jia Yan’s true identity, were unknown to her son. She believed that everything should come slowly, otherwise, if her son suddenly discovered that the being before him was not his real father, and his true body was the colossal Giant Mosquito in the starry sky, she couldn’t guarantee that her son wouldn’t have a negative emotional reaction due to such a great impact.

This lunch at the Jia’s family was rather awkward.

Of course, the main reason was Jia Yan, the real backbone of the family, and the major figure that the entire Earth Alliance, or even the entire Orion Arm, relied upon, being present at home made them, even as family, feel a bit uneasy.

Since Jia Yan had been away for so many years without appearing, the older generation at home was fine, but the younger generation had grown up, and Jia Qi’s son had joined them, making the environment feel strange and unfamiliar for Jia Yan.

”Haha, eat, Xiao Yan, you always loved this fern dish. Back then, I would take you siblings to pick them almost every day, and now three or four decades have passed. Time flies so fast.”

Mother Jia might have been the most natural among everyone; she even picked up Jia Yan’s favorite dish and filled his bowl.

”Now that I think about it, it’s been three or four decades. Time truly flies.”

Jia Lin, standing by, was deeply moved by Mother Jia’s words.

It had been thirty-four years. The siblings from back then, one had become a top figure, and the other had become a grandmother, though she still looked like a girl in her twenties.

Time passes so quickly.

Jia Yan sighed slightly.

Although he wasn’t the original Jia Yan anymore, his self-identity remained the same as before. Thinking of past events, he felt a sense of dreamlike nostalgia.

After all, as a strong one, the life he led was unimaginable to the old Jia Yan. However, looking back, his happiest memories were still from the childhood of the original Jia Yan.

”Hmm, I remember, Xiao Long, you used to run after me with a runny nose every day back then.”

Jia Yan smiled faintly.

”Brother, I’m already a grandmother, could you not mention this?”

Jia Long looked displeased.

But due to medicine and cultivation, she still appeared as an ordinary twenty-something, her pouty expression giving her the air of a girl next door.

”Alright, I won’t talk about you anymore. I almost forgot you’re a grandmother now.”

Jia Yan laughed heartily.

The little joke brought the family closer together.

However, this was mostly among Jia Yan and the older generation while the younger members, especially the little ones unfamiliar with Jia Yan, remained silent and obedient.
