The Pingtian Genius Battle was already an event that attracted a lot of attention.

Now, with the emergence of Jia Yan, who was gradually becoming the media’s darling, the broadcasting of this event surged in quantity, and the Pingtian power earned a significant amount of money.

However, they were not pleased, because This Jia Yan can be regarded as someone who came to challenge their authority.

”Jia Yan has won again. Does he really intend to enter the top five? If a Venerable level participant makes it into the top five, the authority of our Pingtian power will be questioned.”

A Semi-permanent Star Genius at the headquarters of the Pingtian power watched the live broadcast with a somber expression.

Unlike the Mighty Power and Tornado Force, Pingtian power did not want a genius like Jia Yan, who disrupts the norms, to challenge their status. They had worked hard to build up some authority, and if Jia Yan, a Venerable level competitor, not only won the Venerable and Secondary Powerhouse championships but also entered the top five of the Semi-permanent star level, then the credibility of their event would be called into question.

Who would consider an event with a Venerable level participant winning three different levels of championships authoritative?

”Forget it, we have Seniors from the Genius Battlefield observing this tournament. We can’t do anything underhanded. He has already reached the top ten, so let’s just let him continue. I don’t think he can go any further.”

A Semi-permanent star observer, whose eyes flickered with a hidden glint as he watched Jia Yan’s fight replay, remarked.

The other Strong Ones from the Pingtian power no longer spoke.

Although they felt that Jia Yan was indeed terrifying, being able to defeat several strong Semi-permanent Star Geniuses with the strength of a Venerable level, they couldn’t possibly believe that Jia Yan could advance any further and truly reach the top five.

The next battle would be crucial in determining whether he could break into the top five.

But then, a rather cursing-inducing scenario occurred.

”Uh... The contestant Jia Yan is facing the previously severely injured contestant Dou Dou, who had already announced his forfeiture due to injury, so this match... the winner is contestant Jia Yan.”

The commentator announced the result of Jia Yan’s battle to enter the top five from the high platform.

”Uh.” Not only did the audience start cursing, but even Jia Yan was taken aback.

If he didn’t know that he hadn’t engaged in any backroom dealings, he might even suspect this match was fixed.

”Jia Yan, you corrupt Venerable, get off the stage!”

”What a joke of a Genius Battle, allowing a Venerable to make it to the top five is like comedy, and even conceding defeat due to injury? Rigged!”

”I am never coming to watch a Pingtian power’s Genius Battle again. Damn it, being pushed into the top five by a Venerable, the stature of Semi-permanent Star Geniuses here is embarrassingly low.”

The audience members, one by one, cursed and grumbled at the sidelines. They had paid money to come and watch the battle live, and most of them had their favored or supported Strong Ones, only to see a Venerable level competitor like Jia Yan forcibly squeeze into the top five of the Semi-permanent Star Genius raking. It was a complete joke to them.

”The Lord Dongxing I was rooting for has shown perseverance despite his disabilities, persisting for several years, moving up in the ranks each tournament. But This Jia Yan has just emerged and reached a ranking even higher than Lord Dongxing with his Venerable level—what is this? Are you saying Lord Dongxing is inferior to This Jia Yan?”

”I support Lord Meigwa, who also overcame his battle phobia with great difficulty. This time, it was heartwarming to see him struggle into the top fifty, but then Jia Yan rushed into the top five, completely ruining my mood. It’s too fake.”

Every spectator has their reasons for watching the battles: some are looking for experience from the Strong Ones, others are simply cheering for someone. But no one had thought of supporting Jia Yan before this battle.

”Hey, the whole spectator stand is in chaos now.”

Down below, the creatures from the Tornado Force were both delighted and proud as Jia Yan won again with good luck.

While the audience cursed Jia Yan, they would not. On the contrary, the more he was cursed, the more exhilarated they were.

”Let them curse, the more they curse Jia Yan, the more he wins. It would be fun if the next match is against another injured opponent.”

”Isn’t that the truth? Jia Yan’s luck is just too explosive.”

The Strong Ones from the Tornado Force all laughed.

Jia Yan returned to the contestant seats, and upon seeing him, Tai Jin couldn’t help but sigh again. After all, the best he himself had ever ranked in the Pingtian Genius Battle was fifth, and now Jia Yan had reached his best rank in one go, which was truly impressive.

The battles continued, but the fights of the other Strong Ones no longer held as much attraction.

The audience on-site and those watching on media television were all focused on Jia Yan, eager to see how badly he would lose in the next match.

”Among the five contestants, there will be one bye. I heard that in the last round at the Mighty Power, Jia Yan had a bye. If he is rigging the game, it won’t be done so blatantly this time; surely, he won’t get another bye.”

Each member of the audience wanted to see if there would be any foul play in Jia Yan’s bye in the next round.

They all knew that it was quite easy to fix early rounds in the tournament, but as the competition progresses, it becomes harder to do so. Later on, The officials of the genius battle domain would pay closer attention to such issues. If handled poorly, they could even command a complete shutdown of the Genius Battle for reorganization.

Yet, the audience still suspected Jia Yan of foul play.

For ordinary beings to accept a Venerable level competitor fair and square defeating Semi-permanent star Strong Ones, that was almost impossible because it would highlight their incompetence.

But things didn’t go as people wished. When Jia Yan drew his lot and the Smart Brain pinged to announce that Jia Yan, astonishingly, was the one to have a bye again...

”Ahh! I can’t watch this anymore.”

”The officials of the Genius Battlefield need to come out! This Jia Yan is too blatantly corrupt.”

”Exactly, even getting a bye like this, what, do they think we spectators are fools?”

One after another, the spectators were enraged, not just them, but also the competitors below, whether still in battle or eliminated, couldn’t help but curse out loud.

”Jia Yan is lucky, but he can’t be always this lucky, right? This isn’t a matter of being lucky anymore, there must be some foul play involved.”

”That’s right, earlier when the audience outside the field called Jia Yan a black curtain Venerable, I was somewhat skeptical. After all, being a bit lucky is understandable, but time and again like this, I can’t believe it’s not foul play.”

Jia Yan was also standing on the stage, somewhat in a daze.

”Uh. I kind of feel like I am the cheater here, isn’t this just too much good luck?”

Jia Yan felt as if he was dreaming; he never thought his luck would be this good, but in the recent Genius battles, his luck was unstoppable.

Just as the entire Genius Battle Arena inside and out was about to erupt into chaos, with some spectators even thinking of storming the field.

From the sky above, a familiar voice was transmitted.

”Luck is also a part of one’s capability, I acknowledge that Jia Yan has not engaged in cheating.”

As this voice spoke, all the creatures around the arena froze, and for good reason, it was the Stellar Level Lord who was observing the matches speaking up.

”Thank you, Lord.”

Jia Yan was initially shocked, but soon recognized that this was the Stellar Level Senior from the Mighty Power force he had encountered before and quickly bowed respectfully to the sky.

It turns out, this Senior had also come to observe this session of the Genius Battlefield moving within the Pingtian power.

”A Stellar Level Lord has spoken up, maybe Jia Yan really isn’t cheating?”

”Maybe, this luck is indeed against the heavens. And there were his previous battles, could it be that even the Stellar Level authority does not think he has cheated? That’s unbelievable, even consistently defeating Semi-permanent Star Levels in battle...”

Hearing these words from the official Stellar Level presence, the competitors around and the spectators all reluctantly reined in their tempers.

You must understand that within the Genius Battlefield, the Stellar Level presence of the official forces is not just an observer. Some forces and individuals who violate the rules of the Genius Battlefield could be wiped out by these Stellar Level Strong Ones with a single action; within the Genius Battlefield, they are the law.

If such beings say Jia Yan hasn’t cheated, then perhaps he really hasn’t.

”Alright, let the battle resume.”

The commentator, having heard the words of this Stellar Level Strong One, felt that the other party seemed somewhat acquainted with Jia Yan and dared not speak ill of Jia Yan anymore. Instead, he bit the bullet and announced that the battle would resume.

From beginning to end, this Stellar Level being only had to move his lips and even without showing his figure, he calmed down an almost uncontrollable scene inside and outside the arena, showing how fearsome Stellar Level authorities are in the Genius Battlefield.

Jia Yan quietly watched the battle from the sidelines.

All four remaining competitors were very strong, and after watching, Jia Yan understood that even if he became a bit more powerful, he wouldn’t be able to defeat them.

After all, the top five were even stronger than Tai Jin.

”Sigh, in that case, should I seriously consider admitting defeat later?”

Jia Yan thought about this; after all, if there was a significant difference in strength, going on stage would just be asking for a beating, and he wouldn’t gain much battle experience either.

But an even more farce-like situation occurred that dumbfounded both Jia Yan and the surrounding spectators.

The strength of the four competitors was almost equal; the first pair fought on stage for over half an hour, then one had his abdomen pierced by the opponent, while the other was stabbed through the neck.

The other pair was even more comical, both being ambush-type monsters with fast bodies. After five minutes of battle, they simultaneously stabbed each other in the forehead with weapons, and both... died!

”Uh.”

Jia Yan was stunned.

The audience and competing Strong Ones below were also stunned.

All the creatures from the Tornado Force were so dazed they were nearly fainting.

”I, I declare.”

The Semi-permanent Star Level commentator swore he had never seen such a strange situation in his life, speaking with a shaky voice.

In the Genius Battlefield, incidents of death and injury were rare, but in this session, four Strong Ones resulting in major casualties over two consecutive matches was unprecedented.

A mistake was made in the Chapter numbering of the last session; it should have been Chapter 26, so this Chapter will resume as Chapter 27.
