Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1319: Chapter 22 The Champion Behind the Scenes Gets Lost! [Please Subscribe to the Official Version]

This Strong One held no fear towards Jia Yan, rather, he was somewhat interested.

As a Semi-permanent Star Genius, he had no reason to be afraid of a Lord; if he were afraid of even a Lord, wouldn’t that nullify his existence at the Semi-permanent Star Level?

The other strong ones also felt the same. Most of them only regarded Jia Yan as a joke for their amusement.

Yet, the unequivocal strength of Jia Yan still caused the geniuses at the Secondary Powerhouse Level, as well as the Lords, to feel immense pressure.

Compared to those among the Secondary Powerhouses, a few stronger individuals felt somewhat reassured, while the geniuses at the Lord Level were completely despondent.

Because the strength Jia Yan displayed was something they couldn’t resist no matter how hard they tried!

But they were helpless, every time a genius from another Star Zone came to the 132 Star Zone to make a name for themselves, some of the talents would be hit, their confidence shattered.

”But this Jia Yan is just a genius from the 251 Star Zone, after all. Even if we have to fight to the death, we can’t lose!”

This was the thought of each Secondary Powerhouse. Having learned of Jia Yan’s Talent, they understood that if they didn’t go all out, they wouldn’t be able to contend with a genius who could fight against Semi-permanent Star powerhouses, and they all believed that Jia Yan’s strength was at best suited for competitive battles, and in a fight to the death, their genuine Secondary Level strength would prove stronger.

And no matter what, Jia Yan continued to calmly enhance his strength in his own room, while they could only watch with envy.

Time sped by quickly, and the Genius Battle hosted by the Pingtian power was finally about to begin!

”Welcome everyone to the Genius Battle of the Pingtian power. Unwittingly, this Genius Battle is already the fifty-second one hosted by our power,” the announcer said.

”In our power’s Genius Battle, many Strong Ones have emerged. Among them is Mr. Rubi from the original 42 Intermediate Stars Area, who has left an impression here. Mr. Rubi has now become a Stellar existence in the outside world. When our talent interviewed him, Mr. Rubi still remembered our power’s battle and said he cherished the fight. There’s also Lord Kedi, who now...”

On the day the Genius Battle began, as Jia Yan and a group of Tornado Force geniuses entered the designated battlefield of the Pingtian power, what they heard were earth-shattering cheers and saw astonishing sights.

Unlike the Tornado Force and other small powers’ talent battles, the Pingtian power’s Genius Battle was held on a Starry Sky battle platform constructed about five hundred kilometers in size, set up in space.

It’s worth mentioning that the size of the headquarters celestial body of the Wu Ci Power in the 251 Star Zone is only a few hundred kilometers in diameter, yet the Pingtian power alone has constructed a battle platform of several hundred kilometers in size, highlighting the difference between the two.

With this battle platform, combined with lighting effects, and some unknown principle that created air and Gravity around the platform, Jia Yan felt the true essence of high technology. He didn’t understand the principle, but he knew it was very impressive.

”The Pingtian power really is different from us; the talents they invited are all outstanding geniuses from the Star Powers,” Tai Jin said as he noticed the Genius Forces surrounding the battle platform and shook his head.

It turned out that the forces participating in the Pingtian power’s Genius Battle were all existences that looked down on the Tornado Force’s talent battle. Some of these geniuses from those forces, if participating in the Tornado Force’s Genius Battle, could probably easily win the championship.

”Lord, we will be able to achieve this step in the future, too. Now our reputation in the Star Zone is getting higher and higher, and some geniuses have already expressed their interest in participating in our Tornado Force’s next Genius Battle,” a subordinate comforted Tai Jin.

Just as the commentator was enthusiastically talking about something on the stage, he suddenly shifted the topic.

”Ladies and gentlemen, the Lords I introduced before are all part of the past, but in this edition of the Genius Battle, our power has once again invited a strong genius, that is the ’Mister Jia Yan’ whom everyone must have heard about before the competition!”

The Tornado Force’s living creatures, including Jia Yan, did not expect that a spotlight would suddenly shine directly on Jia Yan.

”This is too much, bringing up Jia Yan and comparing him to those strong Seniors; what does he, Jia Yan, count as?”

Immediately, discontented voices rose from the surrounding competitors.

They believed the past achievements of the Seniors mentioned by the commentators, as those were proven facts. But now, the commentator deliberately compared Jia Yan with those strong Seniors, some of whom had already achieved Stellar status, which upset them too much.

Even if Jia Yan’s Talent was indeed admirable, he was after all only a Lord; such an existence, being compared to Stellar level?

That was too much.

”Jia Yan, it seems like the Pingtian power intends to build you up only to knock you down, don’t get agitated,” Tai Jin sent a Brainwave Power message to Jia Yan under the spotlight.

”Don’t worry,” Jia Yan replied with one word.

The tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of spectators, all looked at Jia Yan’s face, some with mockery, and some with puzzlement.

After all, Jia Yan only made an appearance in the Mighty Power Genius Battle, and some of the audience really hadn’t heard any rumors about Jia Yan.

”I thank the Pingtian power for their generous support, but as for myself, I am nowhere near ready to be mentioned in the same breath as the Seniors. I hope that day will come though, thank you,” Jia Yan calmly broadcasted his voice.

His Brainwave Power was incredibly calm, perfectly covering every place in the competition area that housed living creatures, without any strain or hint of weakness. This showed that his Brainwave Power control was quite remarkable, at least beyond what a regular Lord could achieve.

Jia Yan’s remarks could be seen as appropriate – neither too timid nor too conceited.

However, outside of the competition area, there was a group of creatures who were dissatisfied with Jia Yan.

”Scam champion, get lost! Scam champion, get lost!”

A wave of voices rose, among which Jia Yan recognized some familiar ones.

The creatures of Tornado Force and Jia Yan themselves were all taken aback, then looked at the shouting audience with a helpless smile in the depths of their hearts.

It turned out that a good number of these spectators had once watched Jia Yan fight among the geniuses of Mighty Power, and they still remembered his nickname ’the behind-the-scenes champion.’ Now seeing Jia Yan, they all shouted it out.

And hearing their shouts, every contestant laughed as well, looking at Jia Yan with disdain in their eyes.

An existence that had won a championship through the back door—they simply looked down on him.

This disdain was clearly reflected in the commentator’s eyes, his smile impossible to hide.

”Very well, Mister Jia Yan indeed has an extraordinary demeanor. Now, I declare the start of the 52nd Pingtian Genius Battle!”

The commentator also couldn’t be too obviously biased, so he announced the start of the Genius Battle.

This Pingtian Power Genius Battle was no different from the Genius Battles Jia Yan had experienced before. First up were the fights involving the Dignitaries.

”The first match, Jia Yan versus Wu Zu!”

The commentator roared out loud as if the very first fight of the Lord Level was set to be incredibly exciting.

Indeed, as he announced the names of the two fighters, the entire place, inside and out, erupted into an uproar.

”Haha, the very first match pits Jia Yan against the former number one of the Pingtian genius Lords. It’s like Mars colliding with Earth; the Pingtian Genius Battle is truly interesting.”

”Isn’t that so, I think although Jia Yan will win, it won’t be easy. You have to realize that the number one in the Pingtian Genius Battle is not the same as the number one from the likes of Tornado Force or Mighty Power; that gold content is extremely high.”

After a moment of surprise, Jia Yan, who was in the contestants’ seats, shook his head and stepped onto the stage without any dissatisfaction.

He understood the officials of the Genius Battle wanted to hype up the atmosphere.

”Jia Yan, I won’t lose to you that easily!”

His opponent was a Lord, but his strength absolutely surpassed almost all other Lords Jia Yan had seen—immensely powerful.

Although he admitted he was not a match for Jia Yan, you could tell from his demeanor that even with a gap in strength, he would certainly go all out.

But...

Dreams are full of hope, but reality can be quite stark.

When Jia Yan easily landed a blow, merely hovering his front paw above the forehead of this monster, the entire place went silent for a moment.

”I—I concede.” The monster, last season’s top-ranking Lord Level creature from Pingtian Power, admitted defeat with some bitterness.

”This—this Jia Yan is too strong after all!”

”Uh, well, of course, even if he’s not a High-Level Genius, at the very least he is an Intermediate Genius. It isn’t that easy to defeat him when he’s at an equal level.”

After this, the audience started to acknowledge Jia Yan’s strength a bit more.

And after this fight, Jia Yan’s strength was recognized by many at the Lord Level.

Under a great reputation no man is worthless; even if Jia Yan won the championship of a minor force’s Genius Battle, his strength could certainly hold its own.

In the subsequent Lord level fights, those who encountered Jia Yan were very straightforward, either being defeated with a single blow or directly conceding, not mustering the courage to fight.

In the Lord Level Pingtian Genius Battle, Jia Yan effortlessly earned the championship.

No matter how he won, that bunch of spectators who cursed the ’behind-the-scenes manipulation’ still stubbornly shouted their slogans, loudly criticizing Jia Yan’s hollow victory.

”See, even if Jia Yan won the Lord Level championship, in the Semi-permanent Star Level, he will have to lose!”

After Jia Yan won the Lord Level championship, the spectating naysayers still didn’t believe that Jia Yan could possess the same momentum he had in the Mighty Power Genius Battle.

”This Jia Yan, indeed he has some skills.”

In the ranks of the Secondary Powerhouse, like an assassin hidden in the shadows, one such Secondary Powerhouse glanced at Jia Yan’s figure with an indifferent gaze, then turned away before Jia Yan managed to notice his scrutiny.

”Shang Ren is an old rival of mine. I had intended to teach him a lesson this time, not expecting he would be defeated by Jia Yan. So now I will test Jia Yan’s strength, and consider it closing a page in my book before my promotion to Semi-permanent Star Level.”

This creature in the shadows, after witnessing Jia Yan’s strength, still retained a fighting spirit!

”Lord Star Dark, so you were here!” While this shadowy creature continued to observe Jia Yan, a sycophantic Semi-permanent Star Level creature appeared beside him.

”Lord Star Dark, you are the Secondary Powerhouse genius invited by Pingtian Power. How could you mingle with these ordinary geniuses? Come, I have prepared an exclusive, luxurious lounge for you.”

Thank you ’Shang Ke’ reader for the reward!
