Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1159: Chapter 40 Are You the Lord Assassin!? [Subscribe to the official version please]

Jia Yan had completely set aside the affairs of the Northern Star Domain and could now wholeheartedly attend to some matters on Earth.

”Uncle Jiu, look, look!”

Little JiaQi’s joyful voice rang out as the young girl was now piloting her own body, flying through the skies.

Jia Yan looked at her and then revealed a trace of gratified smile. His niece had quickly grasped his teachings—at least she had not encountered the situation where flying normally took many days.

In the days leading up to Jia Yan’s true body’s promotion, Jia’s family held a grand ceremony for Jia Qi’s advancement. Attendees were renowned figures from Earth, or rather, ordinary national presidents and leaders who could not even rank here. Even Kari, the Marshal of the Earth Fleet, had arrived.

However, people realized that the person they really wanted to see, the one rumored to be the strongest on Earth, ”Mo Ke,” wasn’t there, leaving many of the high-ranking Earth figures quite disappointed.

For Earth people, Jia Qi becoming a leading Heaven-level existence was an exciting matter for the entire Earth species. But in truth, what Earth needed was Mo Ke; he was the one who could truly determine the outcome of wars.

Of course, Jia Qi’s promotion was also exhilarating for countless people, signifying that Earth’s talent could reach the Heavenly Level.

Days passed, and today Jia Qi was able to fly in front of Jia Yan with ease. To be able to fly under the gravity of a normal planet indicated the strength of a Heavenly Level power.

Earth’s gravity was average among terrestrial planets, so at this moment, Jia Qi could barely manage to fly. If it were on a planet like Grey-Yellow Star with greater gravity, she would need more training.

”Okay, okay, stop cajoling your Uncle Jiu. You’re still very far off. If you can’t exert the real power of the Heavenly Level, you’ll never be a true strong one,” Jia Yan solemnly told his little niece.

Today was still a day for mentoring his niece, but Jia Yan pondered some matters in his heart.

As far as he was concerned, waiting for Earth people to become powerful on their own would take who knows how many years. Moreover, Jia Yan hadn’t told anyone that he indeed felt that Earth’s combat talent was not necessarily worse than the Bella clan or the Kudi Tan Tribe but wasn’t much better either. That meant Earth’s potential strength wouldn’t be too weak, but also not too strong within the Orion Arm.

Compared to the two species, Earth’s advantages included having Jia Yan, a terrifyingly powerful existence, and the fact that the Orion Arm as a whole wasn’t very powerful. So, Earth’s future development could at least position them as a species with medium strength overall.

Of course, Jia Yan was unwilling to wait.

He wanted the Earth species to become powerful immediately!

If their overall strength wasn’t enough, he would use his personal power to forcefully elevate the Earth species to the level of strong species within the Orion Arm!

A civilization of strong ones, though with countless disadvantages, was still better than one with no strong ones at all, just like Earth in the past. If Jia Yan hadn’t rescued them several times, Earth might very well have perished by now.

”Hmph, the Ru Lan Civilization and the Auster Civilization, huh?”

A strange light flickered in Jia Yan’s eyes. In that moment, Jia Qi, who was being instructed, seemed to feel a terrifying pressure—it was fortunate that this pressure was fleeting. The young girl couldn’t help but feel discouraged; she thought that after advancing a Great Level, she might be able to witness Uncle Jiu’s strength, but now she felt his unintentional crushing aura and could sense the still unfathomably deep power of Jia Yan, which left her somewhat morose.

However, though she felt morose inside, Jia Qi also had a way to vent, because this invincible strong one could be coaxed with affection.

Jia Yan also felt somewhat helpless afterwards; he didn’t understand how his niece, as she grew stronger, became even more spoiled.

And just after today.

Somewhere on Earth, here lay a place of utmost secrecy.

Countless scientists were constantly tackling technological challenges here, with some developmental matters also being transmitted from this place. If the Earth Fleet was currently the most powerful entity in Earth’s hands, then this place was another significant location, second only to the Earth Fleet.

”The Lord may not know if he has returned. With the emergence of Mo Ke, we who are subordinates of the former Lord Assassin seem to have become a bit awkward in our positions. No one expected that there would be such a terrifying strong one on Earth. There are rumors that the other party is a strong one who left Earth early on, and many versions of the story are being sold as novels now.”

An existence who looked like a giant Frog Monster idly complained while sorting through files at hand.

Beside him stood another alien, who resembled a Noodle Man. If one remembered, this was Fuda, whom Jia Yan relied on greatly back on Grey-Yellow Star.

In response to the Frogman’s puzzlement, Fuda also showed some helplessness. He somewhat found the looks from the surrounding Earth people hard to accept, because an air of change seemed to hang over Earth with the emergence of their own strong one; a different look began to emerge towards them, these Outsiders.

”Forget it, for now, that being doesn’t seem to harbor any hostility towards us, and since he hasn’t revealed himself publicly, he might even be a friendly presence,” Fuda sighed and said.

”That’s right, Fuda, you’re on point. I am indeed friendly towards you all.”

Suddenly, a voice emerged beside the two alien entities.

”Who?!” Fuda was startled, this place was one of the two most heavily guarded forbidden areas on Earth. Not to mention anyone else, but just his own power alone was of Heavenly Level. Who on Earth had the ability to appear beside him without notice?

When Fuda turned his head, he was shocked to find that behind them stood a young man of Earthly appearance with ordinary features, yet upon closer inspection, one couldn’t help but feel a sense of mystery.

This man simply stood behind the two, then looked around at the surrounding scenery.

”Fuda, you have done a very good job managing Earth. I am very satisfied,” the man said with a hint of praise.

”Who exactly are you?” Fuda was full of trepidation as he looked at the man; his mind swiftly went through various possibilities, and soon after, he had a hunch about the man’s identity.

As expected, when he asked, the young man turned his head back to look at Fuda, who had scarcely changed from the Noodle Man he was ten years ago.

”My name now is Mo Ke, but I have had other names before this. Would you like to know them?” the man said with a faint smile.

He is Mo Ke?!

Even with some mental preparation, Fuda couldn’t help but gasp upon hearing the man’s words.

The Frog Monster on the other side was, at that moment, so surprised that he carelessly dropped the communicator he had been holding stealthily.

A man’s name carries the weight of his reputation. As a being who had helped the Earth Fleet through a previous crisis, although he had never shown his face formally, and no one knew how exactly he had saved the Earth Fleet or how he had destroyed a semi-battle-class carrier, as the frontline warriors had not returned, his strength was something that was clear to everyone.

It meant this being was not just any ordinary Strong One, but somewhat according to the snippets of information from the frontline, his power was greater than that of the Strong Ones of the Giant Mosquito clan, ’Lord Assassin,’ quite possibly by no small margin.

So, in the presence of this being, at the moment, Fuda and the large Frog could only be at his mercy.

Though in terms of size, these two could easily swallow down the puny Earthling without so much as spitting out a bone, strength was still strength.

”No, wait! He said this is just one of his names, and he also asked about my previous name? That means I must know who he was before! Could there possibly have been such a terrifying being among those I’ve known before?” Fuda, with a mind no less sharp than Daphne’s, quickly came up with a notion.

”But could this be possible?” As soon as the thought crossed his mind, he easily dismissed it.

Luckily, Jia Yan didn’t play any games, but shook his head and resolved the answer himself.

”Fuda, thank you for steadfastly following my orders all these years. Now relax, Earth has no need to worry about invaders. You just focus on helping me develop, build, and erect the technological industries,” Jia Yan said.

”You!” Fuda was truly stupefied at that moment, his earlier guess having turned out to be true!

”You are Lord Assassin?!” Fuda asked in utter shock.

”Heh, it’s me, and yet it’s not me; it’s a bit complicated. In any case, you can think of me as the original ’Lord Assassin,’” Jia Yan said, nodding with a smile.

”Uh, uh, uh, uh... I see now. I knew it, there couldn’t be such a terrifying existence that was so good to Earthlings, that among Earth’s people, such a terrifying presence couldn’t just emerge by chance.” It seemed at that moment, Fuda had come to understand some things.

”Earthlings can become powerful beings too, Fuda, as you have said,” Jia Yan’s voice timely interrupted, causing Fuda to stop mumbling to himself.

”Alright, I came to you today not for anything else but to check if you had any star charts or the like. Especially of the Ru Lan Empire and the Auster Empire, including the star charts and local customs,” Jia Yan said indifferently.

Still reeling from the revelation that ’Mo Ke’ was in fact the ’assassin,’ Fuda was once again startled.

He looked incredulously at Jia Yan and then asked with difficulty.

”Dare... dare I ask, Lord, are you planning to seek trouble with them? To... to find trouble with two Empires on their doorstep?!” he asked tentatively, hardly believing his own words.
