Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1158: Chapter 39 Cocooning and Crisis... [First Update]

Of course, the Light Shadow Monster didn’t realize that even with his terrifying talent, Jia Yan, as the person involved, still had no idea how many crises he had undergone before reaching this point. If it knew about Jia Yan’s past experiences, perhaps it would feel a bit envious, and its feelings might become a bit more balanced.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The trembling between heaven and earth became even more terrifying.

At that moment, Jia Yan only felt an intense pain, as if something was devouring his entire body.

This painfully familiar sensation had, in fact, always accompanied him since his rebirth, slowly making him stronger!

The pain of ascension!

The Condensation Fluid slowly enveloped Jia Yan’s body, after which a thin film appeared faintly over his figure.

This film grew thicker and began to slowly absorb the substances from the magma, and at this moment, Jia Yan had no concerns that his absorption might be incorrect. His transformation didn’t require any special kind of devouring due to the very nature of his body. Furthermore, Jia Yan understood that such mutations would become increasingly more frequent in the future because his strength had reached a level where material substances could scarcely have an effect.

It was a feeling indescribable. Jia Yan understood he didn’t need to devour. Perhaps it was because he had already devoured enough Chaos stones during previous mutations, or it might just be a unique phenomenon of Promotion to Dignitary Rank. In any case, he could tell that the magma surrounding him was enough!

”Ugh!” Jia Yan groaned in pain, and then, waves of power inside his body slowly began to relieve him, replacing his original bodily substances.

The Light Shadow Monster watched the changes in Jia Yan, utterly astonished. It had initially thought that Jia Yan was simply devouring other substances to speed up the strengthening of his body, but to its surprise, Jia Yan’s entire body was undergoing a complete transformation—even his organs were mutating.

”What species is this kid? I’ve never heard of such a species. The Giant Mosquito clan? Could it be that he doesn’t come from any region I know of? That’s not right, though. If there were a species this powerful, the name of that species would have echoed across the entire Galaxy by now, but I’ve never heard of it!”

The Light Shadow Monster thought with surprise, unaware that an existence like Jia Yan was almost universally known within the Orion Arm. However, for the average Evolutionary Creature, their path was exceedingly difficult. Jia Yan’s strength lay in the Transformation by Ao Si, by unknown methods that made his ascension safer. For most Evolutionary Creatures, reaching the Sky Level was considered the peak, after which they were either killed in pursuit by others or died during the process of promotion, remaining utterly obscure within the entire Galaxy.

The strength of Jia Yan might, in fact, surpass any Evolutionary Beast Expert from the Orion Arm from tens of thousands of years ago.

Thus, the Light Shadow Monster could not possibly know of any such similar species. And as for the Giant Mosquito clan, to this day, it was still represented by Jia Yan alone.

Of course, Jia Yan had no intention to explain. For him, some things made no difference whether spoken or unspoken, and the Light Shadow Monster was not the sort of being to fuss about such matters.

Gradually, the Giant Mosquito amidst the magma transformed into an immensely large cocoon, spanning one or two hundred meters.

The surrounding populace had long since evacuated, and at this moment, the giant cocoon continued to release terrifying shockwaves, with the earth around it constantly feeling like it was being hit by three or four-level earthquakes.

Furthermore, wild Brainwave Power was incessantly shooting out haphazardly. This was not an intentional act by Jia Yan, but an involuntary fluctuation caused by his body in the process of Promotion.

Jia Yan seemed to have lost all consciousness, now wholly engaged in a desperate struggle with his pain and the waves of energy.

Not far from the Burning Star, a Battleship quietly emerged from within the smoke.

”Hmm? This Jia Yan seems to be doing something! Promotion, you say? Impossible! If his strength advances further, he will definitely surpass me—that cannot be! He just advanced not long ago; how could he possibly be advancing to Dignitary rank? Could it be, this is a conspiracy to lure me out?”

Inside the Battleship, the Smoke Monster looked uncertainly in the direction of the Burning Star, as Jia Yan’s Promotion caused terrifying fluctuations that he could certainly feel. This being stealthily hid outside the Burning Star, waiting for an opportunity!

As a Secondary Powerhouse, his desire for the secret to advance to Eternal Star Rank was more intense than that of any other Strong Ones. Yet at this moment, he hesitated.

The reason was none other than Jia Yan’s strength. It made him somewhat fearful. He had barely managed to fight Jia Yan to a draw and then escaped back into the Starry Sky. The more he thought about it, the more apprehensive he became, realizing that Jia Yan had expended a tremendous amount of Power to activate his Avatar. Even so, he had still been forced to flee. How strong Jia Yan really was in an All-victory state was something he barely dared to imagine.

Even though he kept telling himself that a High-Level Star-Space Strongman couldn’t possibly be that powerful, deep down, he still felt a profound sense of dread towards Jia Yan, as if facing a formidable enemy.

Now that Jia Yan had intentionally caused such immense fluctuations, was it to lure him down, or was it a real breakthrough? If it was some kind of breakthrough, then there was an opportunity for a sneak attack. But if it was a deliberate lure, that would be dangerous!

”No, I must try; otherwise, I will not be at peace!” After much thought, this Strong One clenched his teeth and made his decision.

No matter what Jia Yan was doing, he was somewhat concerned that if he continued to let Jia Yan grow stronger at this rate, he might truly be unable to handle this guy on his own. Even if there was some danger at the moment, he had to try.

Boom...

As this powerful being piloted his battleship, flying over the Burning Star!

Suddenly, a terrifyingly powerful brainwave force surged up from deep beneath the ground!

Boom boom boom!

The color drained from this strong one’s face, feeling only that this enigmatic and terrifying expert was merely keeping his strength controlled over his own battleship. Then his entire battleship began to shake violently, and even his body seemed to be forcefully pinned down in an instant, unable to move.

”Is this... a stellar being?” In a flash, the light shadow monster felt almost as if his heart had turned to ash.

Where would he know that there was a stellar great power on this Burning Star? His strength was not even worth mentioning in front of a being at the stellar level; they could easily kill him with just a thought.

Under the immense shock and fear, this monster only felt a flash of stellar-level power, but it was obviously unsustainable. After a momentary flicker, it completely disappeared, and it seemed as though he could even sense the power shattering.

”Hmm?”

The smoke monster felt uncertain, touching his body, which seemed to have been an illusion. There was no damage to his body, and the battleship hadn’t suffered any mishaps. It seemed it truly had been just a figment of his imagination.

But the feeling was definitely real and stayed within his body; he was still trembling.

”This sensation of strength... I seem to have heard that one of the great beings of the Giant Mosquito species is being watched by a magnificent entity, is it the existence of this kind of power? But I can feel that the other party’s strength is definitely not at its peak, if I were to describe it, at most it is just a weakened strong one.”

He thought he had discerned the strength of that great-level being, but he still dared not take action!

”Even if the other party can only strike once, that one strike is not something I can endure. It seems I have to think long-term. This Jia Yan actually has the protection of a weakened great existence... No, according to my feeling, although this expert is powerful, he has not left the category of eternal stars. A great existence should only refer to those who can transcend eternal star rank. It seems that the natives of the Desolate Star System have mistaken the definition of a great existence...”

The smoke powerhouse now understood that Jia Yan seems to have entered some special state. He did not believe that the other was advancing, but it was likely he was cultivating some kind of move that could make him much stronger in the future.

But with the protection of this weakened eternal star guardian, even if the other could only launch a single strike, he wasn’t someone he could deal with!

”Jia Yan... Though I am not willing to admit it! Since you have the protection of such a strong one at that level, then I can only engage in inviting stronger ones. Hmph, in this Northern Star Domain, there are as many beings desiring to advance to eternal star rank as one could want.”

After circling over the Burning Star for a moment, the battleship then directly soared away.

This time, it did not hide itself but instead flew away boldly from the region of the Burning Star, heading straight for the Central Area of the Northern Star Domain...

After he left, from within the Magma Ground of the Burning Star.

”Ah, I managed to scare him off with my power, but if I really had to strike, I would have been somewhat reluctant. I still want to watch this child grow...” The voice of the light shadow monster, somewhat weakened, gently arose within the magma, then, as if power had been overused, immediately fell into a deep sleep.

Jia Yan didn’t know anything that happened just then, only completely engrossed in his own advancement process.

What the light shadow monster didn’t know was that, under some profound influence of heart and mind, it had not severed the connection with its avatar. No! It should be said that its true body, due to a complete rearrangement of its physique, had lost all thought and had shifted the main thinking to the avatar.

”Uh... Can I only vaguely sense the existence of my true body now?”

Outside of the Jia Family Land on Earth. The avatar of Jia Yan opened his eyes in some shock.

At this moment, due to the true body’s sleep, his connection to the avatar felt as if it were the only body he had, with a stronger sense of reality.

”Well then, this situation can be thought of as a break during my advancement. It turns out that avatars have this kind of use too, not bad.” After pondering for a moment, Jia Yan simply smiled lightly.
