Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 675: Chapter 1: Return of the Giant Mosquito!!!【The New Volume】_2

Seeing Ye Tongyu looking up at the sky, Zhang Shiming also raised his head. He had never thought rainy days were significant. At this moment, however, it seemed to evoke many memories, revealing a hint of nostalgia and longing from this man who had finally grown up to become the pillar of his family...

”Huh?!”

Suddenly, Zhang Shiming let out a surprised gasp!

Clack! Clack! Clack!!

A ceaseless, rustling sound of metal in motion echoed in the air!

As Earth people living in the present day, everyone obviously knew what this sound signified!

These were their great enemies for the past decade; those responsible for turning the beautiful Earth into a terrible wreckage— Metal Monsters!

In the last ten years, the number of Metal Monsters had not apparently increased. These beings that had been around for a decade started to rust at some joints due to rain and atmospheric humidity. Their simple construction could not maintain their flexibility over ten years. Thus, most of the time they made an unsettling noise when on the move.

But this did not affect the combat power of the Red Light emitted by the Metal Monsters!

The fight against Big Mosquito resulted in countless casualties among the Metal Monsters. The so-called ’great’ Seventeen-meter Mosquito ’ancestor’ even caused the collapse of what was arguably the largest kilometer-grade Red Light Building in Australia. Even though this was their last fight and they disappeared afterward, the sacrifice made during that one time saved countless humans!

Due to the dramatic reduction of Metal Monsters and the weakening of the Red Light Attack in the Huaxia region, humans finally had a breathing space!

The fact that Earth people could survive on Earth for millions of years and even evolve into a brilliant civilization wasn’t simple! Once they had a breather, Earth people started to display their enormous Life Force!

They changed their tactics. The once large metropolises gradually turned into ruins. Humans began to scatter across large tracts of land, adopting a dispersed settlement pattern over the vast land.

This way, even if one area was attacked, other areas would still be preserved. The Red Light Building of the Metal Monsters couldn’t inflict massive damage with a single strike. Moreover, after three years, it seemed that the Metal Monsters were also aware that the Red Light Attack no longer had much effect, since the Red Light Buildings ceased firing their laser beams!

The only threat remaining were the leftover Metal Monsters. Even though each of these creatures was immensely powerful, and at their peak one even killed a hundred-man army, their attacks were greatly weakened once Earth people got used to their attack patterns and researched their weaknesses.

People began to live in scattered settlements and started establishing ’Guerrilla Squads’ that existed everywhere. Zhang Shiming had risen to become a high-ranking member of a Guerrilla Squad in a particular region.

Today was a rainy day, when the Metal Monsters were presumed to be at their weakest, so he took his wife, Ye Tongyu, and their children out for some fresh air. After all, their younger daughter had never seen the rain before.

But he never expected to encounter a Metal Monster?!

”Damn! I thought it was safe since it was raining and we had cleared this area. Running into a Metal Monster so close is just bad luck!”

Zhang Shiming instructed his wife, quickly cocking his firearm and loading a bullet into the chamber!

This was a newly developed weapon. It was this weapon that provided Earth people the means to resist the formidable Metal Monsters. Interestingly, this weapon was closely related to the Giant Mosquito race. After the most powerful Big Mosquito transferred several powerful combat machines, different from those of Metal Monsters, to the Huaxia National Army, this weapon was produced from their research!

If it weren’t for this weapon, Earth people might have been wiped out several times over!

Without hesitation, Zhang Shiming leapt towards the clattering Metal Monster!

”Come to mommy!”

Ye Tongyu called out anxiously, urging her children to quickly come to her arms.

”You guys go get help! I’ll hold it off!” Zhang Shiming dashed into the bushes.

”Be careful!” Ye Tongyu gave a worried glance towards her husband, bit her lip, and with their two children in her arms, she ran towards their base.

Clack, Clack!

Clack, Clack, Clack!

”Damn it, it’s not just one!”

After parting the bushes and seeing the Metal Monsters ahead, Zhang Shiming momentarily felt a chill up his spine and a sense of adrenaline rush.

Turned out that they were not facing just one, but a whole army of Metal Monsters!

Over a hundred of them!

”We’re done for. Our base now has only five hundred troops. We can’t fight against over a hundred Metal Monsters. I must inform them to evacuate!”

Zhang Shiming took out his walkie-talkie, quickly transmitted a few sentences of the highest alarm warnings, and then closed it.

He remained hidden and could feel his heart pounding nervously. This made him laugh at himself. After experiencing so many battles, he was still so cowardly!

”If I leave now, Tongyu and the children will surely be chased down. So, I’ll have to buy some time!”
