Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

And that was by utilizing their wisdom!

To utilize everything they possibly could!

The war appeared to be one-sided at the beginning, but when the metallic beasts suffered setbacks in their attack on another major city other than the capital in Huaxia – Shanghu, it represented a turning point in the war!

Shanghai City, even before this, was a city that attracted much attention!

There had been rumours of attacks here and numerous incidents occurred, but its biggest and most impactful issue was its previous protection from the so-called ‘Giant Mosquitoes’!

People at the time knew the terrifying battle prowess of these Giant Mosquitoes.

They thought that the mosquito species could fight against the metallic beasts and it seemed that the mosquitoes were indeed surrounding Shanghai City.

Hence, numerous people flocked to this city!

Subsequently, the Giant Mosquitoes suddenly disappeared from the world!

Some say the Giant Mosquitoes were entirely wiped out by the metallic monsters, some say the mosquitoes went into resting and recuperation.

Even still, a small group of people believed that it was only one Giant Mosquito, who was just lying dormant and would become stronger when it reappears next time!

No one knows what exactly happened to the Giant Mosquitoes, but the people gathered in Shanghu City because of them unexpectedly ended up possessing a strong fighting power!

The periphery was filled with Huaxia’s most elite military units.

Some research organizations and unusual individuals from the civilian population slowly began to acquire the ability to fight against the metallic beasts!

So in the previous battle, the Huaxia side miraculously defeated the invading army of 20,000 metallic monsters!

This was a very inspiring battle.

During this war, Huaxia demonstrated a newly developed weapon!

This weapon was extremely advanced in Huaxia, which had gradually begun to show its military underpinning!

Its name was the ‘Precise Magnetic Shock Bomb’.

This was a weapon that could cause the materials’ nuclear magnetic resonance.

Its principle was actually not difficult to understand.

The attack weapon would fire these bullets, which would create a great magnetic shock force on the bodies of the metallic monsters!

The scientists of Huaxia, through their previous work, discovered that these metallic monsters possessed incredibly strong bodies that could even withstand thousands or tens of thousands of degrees of high temperature!

To destroy them using physical force was almost impossible.

So, after extensive research, they finally developed a weapon that could effectively attack the metallic monsters!

This was the ‘Precise Magnetic Shock Bomb’.

This weapon could attack the metallic monsters, and if luck was on their side, it could hit the heart part that exposed outside the monster’s body.

Earthlings had no idea why the metallic monsters would expose their own critical parts, but since the enemy had revealed their only weakness so blatantly, humans naturally had no reason not to take advantage of it!

The principle of the Precise Magnetic Shock Bomb was to attack these vital parts of the heart.

Perhaps among twenty bullets fired at the metallic monster’s body, one could cause the internal power of the monster’s heart part to fail!

And it was by relying on these urgently developed weapons, that in the previous battle to defend Shanghai City, the Huaxia National Army suffered nearly 150,000 military casualties, and narrowly succeeded in the defense of Shanghai City!

Times were chaotic, people were bitter, but these soldiers carried on dutifully, carrying out their mission.

Their casualties were enormous, and tales of their heroic endeavors were being passed on and sung about.

Several hundred thousand casualties for one corner of peace.

Shanghai City, this city, attracted the amazement and surprise of all humans.

This was the first victory that humans had achieved while facing large-scale collective armies of metallic monsters since their appearance!

Wars might always be thrilling.

No one knew that without those hardworking researchers who had tirelessly spent countless days and nights on the production line, this victory would not have been possible, nor did they know of the countless workers who, for this victory, had worked overtime for several months to participate in the production, ultimately ensuring the supply of weapons on the battlefield.

Nor did anyone know, that those soldiers on the battlefield had not heard any news of their families, yet the majority of them had not disobeyed orders to go out and search for their families.

Instead, they picked up their steel guns at this moment when the nation was on the verge of extinction, carried out their mission, defended their motherland, and the people!

This was a bloody battle with huge casualties!

Many units were completely wiped out, with countless unnamed soldiers dying without retreating on the battlefield in order to hold a small position!

Even when the metallic monsters charged, they pulled out the grenades in their hands, and even if they couldn’t go down with the metallic monsters, they would still make them shed some metal!

It is both commendable and tragic.

The casualties of the human world, none are not so!

Yes, they had won.

But it was a Pyrrhic victory.

Death was everywhere and the once-thriving Shanghai City was now filled with fear.

Countless refugees in and around Shanghai City had met the Metal Monsters, suffering heavy casualties.

Against this backdrop of war, a seemingly idyllic place began to flourish, a short hundred kilometers away from Shanghai City!

This place was a tiny village nestled deep within the mountains.

The village lingered on the brink of war, knowing that any day now, an Army of Metallic Monsters might annihilate them.

Yet the people who came here had nowhere else to go.

Only here could they feel a hint of safety!

So, the village gradually swelled with newcomers!

There were now over three hundred people!

The land of China was filled with places like this, once hidden corners of wilderness now serving as a haven for helpless refugees.

Tough terrains like mountain trails were a deterrent for the Metal Monsters, whose numbers weren’t large enough yet to cover every corner of China.

This had created pockets of unearthly tranquillity amidst the warfront!

It was a small green oasis amidst the desert of war!

Within the three hundred locals, there were a handful of people who had originally lived there, warmly welcoming newcomers.

The group consisted of a family of three and two strong-looking men.

It seemed like these five were waiting for someone.

Unfortunately, the person they were waiting for had not shown up even after a month.

The family of three was from Jia’s family.

They had a little daughter named Jia Lin.

Every day, apart from helping with various chores around the village, she’d stand on the outskirts, gazing up at the sky with a blank, hopeful expression.

Each time, Jia, the head of the family, would let out a deep sigh of helplessness.

The days moved ahead just like that!

“Xiao Yao, I think we’re not safe here anymore,” one of the two men who weren’t from Jia’s family said one day, glancing at the girl standing on the hill, “The Metal Monsters are unlikely to give up their campaign against Shanghai so easily.

We are too close to the city.

We shouldn’t stay here for long.”

These two had mostly recovered from their injuries within a month, but multiple wounds had taken their toll on their combat power.

They were just slightly stronger than an average person under the condition of having firearms but couldn’t be as dauntless as before!

The youthful radiance in the girl’s charm captivated beneath the sky.

Her slightly chubby face looked even more adorable as she stood against the wind, her eyes fixed on the sky filled with clouds and occasional birds.

The sight of birds sometimes brought a fleeting glint of happiness to her eyes.

But each spark of joy would soon be replaced by disappointment.

The person she was waiting for never came!

A month had passed.

The Giant Mosquito monster seemed to have disappeared, leaving her family and the two assassins in this place.

But more and more humans were showing up here.

They could have been coming out of the ground for all she knew, each one shakily making their way to this piece of paradise.

Who could blame them?

Countless humans out there were seeking the same sanctuary.

This remote village, almost devoid of roads, was an unusually safe place in the current chaotic state of China, even the entire Earth.

The Metal Monsters couldn’t possibly concern themselves with every small village.

They seemed to be following a strategy of wiping out major human cities first, and only then would they slowly seek out and kill the humans hiding in every nook and cranny!
